  1. I'm guessing that Beane have a couple more positions that he wants to get some FA's for. THEN in a little while when free agency slows down some, I bet he will sift thru the players that are left and pick up some just for the possibility of trading them in training camp like he did last year. Picking up a couple of extra picks... This dude plays chess while others are still sleeping...
  2. Totally agree about rookies being cheap labor and those guys to a long way to make sure you can pay others until it's their turn to get paid... That's why giving up the #1 for Diggs hurts IMO. I'm happy we got Diggs, but I really wish we could have gotten away with a 2nd round pick for him... (as we all do...) Way out there prediction: We draft a WR with our 2nd Round pick. Someone that drops out of the 1st for some reason...
  3. I think Diggs will be good for us. The only thing I don't like about the trade is giving up the 1st round pick. I would be ecstatic if it was a 2nd instead of the first. So I think getting Diggs is good, but I wish we would have given up a little less. (Like we all do)... especially after the Houston trade...
  4. He wants like 14Mil/yr... Nope... Pass.
  5. Wash was going to pay ‘significantly more’.... I doubt that.
  6. Smokescreen... After the Hopkins trade, I'm sure the browns are cautious not to get blown up by twitter.
  7. This trade is SOOOOO bad the GM and the HC should be fired immediately... WTF.
  8. While every roster can always try and improve, I think there is a lesser amount of spots that need 'help'. I would say we are adequate at all positions except for WR and DE. We need a #1 WR to go with Brown for when we line up with 1RB, 2TE, 2WR. Which I think we will see more of this year. I'm assuming Shaq is gone, which leaves a hole at DE. Already, before free agency has truly begun, Beane has already solidified the CB and OLine. The signings of Norman and Spain means, IMO, there will NOT be any big signings in those areas. Now, for WR and DE, there might be a 'big splash' signing at those positions. A STUD DE would elevate this DEF even more. Personally, I think we can find a #1 WR in the draft. So, in retrospect after that diatribe, I think we will focus on WR DE OLB (which MIGHT be signed before free agency again...) All other positions will be backed up with draft picks.
  9. Now we know why he was tired at the combine... Does this push him back in the WR line??? 2nd round now?
  10. Alright, lets try again after the last one wasn't so good. 2 WR max. fanspeak, steve, Round 1: Wow! OT Wirfs (7), Becton(15), and Josh Jones(22) still around. Patrick Queen there too. BUT I go with Jeudy!!! Round 2: Damn. Best player is a RB, Jonathan Taylor. Reagor, Pittman, Claypool all still here. Some OT's here too... Round 3: Round 4: driskoll was a little bit of a reach, but best OT left. Still good plethora of WR's left. Round 5: 2nd WR here. Round 6: Took quarterman just bc the bills have talked w/ him. Super happy w/ this draft. 22: R1P22 WR JERRY JEUDY ALABAMA 54: R2P22 DL JUSTIN MADUBUIKE TEXAS A&M 86: R3P22 LB MALIK HARRISON OHIO STATE 128: R4P22 OT JACK DRISCOLL AUBURN 155: R5P9 RB ZACK MOSS UTAH 167: R5P21 WR JAMES PROCHE SMU 188: R6P9 LB SHAQUILLE QUARTERMAN MIAMI 201: R6P22 EDGE CHAUNCEY RIVERS MISSISSIPPI STATE 207: R6P28 CB STANFORD SAMUELS III FLORIDA STATE
  11. Yes, I would be secretly afraid of that. Someone will give Henry Zeke money. I don't want to spend that for a RB. I doubt Gordon would take 7Mil/yr. I wonder if you could convince one of them to take a deal of around 5-6Mil/yr for Gordon or around 8-9Mil for Henry, but it's all guaranteed? That way they get their money and we get a discount on a good player. It's a risk, but could have great cap relief later on.
  12. OK... I am going to only draft up to 2 WRs this time. Fanspeak, Steve list Round 1: The only other person I thought about was Jefferson WR. Round 2: 22: R1P22 OT JOSH JONES HOUSTON 54: R2P22 S KYLE DUGGER LENOIR-RHYNE 86: R3P22 LB MALIK HARRISON OHIO STATE 125: R4P22 EDGE ANFERNEE JENNINGS ALABAMA 155: R5P9 WR QUARTNEY DAVIS TEXAS A&M 167: R5P21 S KVON WALLACE CLEMSON 188: R6P9 RB AJ DILLON BOSTON COLLEGE 201: R6P22 CB JAMES PIERRE FLORIDA ATLANTIC 207: R6P28 WR JUWAN JOHNSON OREGON I'm kinda underwhelmed on the WR's I drafted. This is the first mock where I couldn't find good WR's in the 4/5th round. Also, I drafted 2 Safeties.... ugh.
  13. I'd say low 90's. Beane and company have been making pretty good moves and doing a great job of keep flexibility on the cap, which is huge. Not all of their moves have panned out, but you can see they are actively trying to make the team better, which is all I can ask for. Now, let's get some 'reasonably' priced free agents, except for maybe 1 'splash' FA. Maybe a DE? Then draft a couple of great WR's in the draft and we will be golden.
  14. First off, let me say that we probably are not going to draft 3 WR's, but we probably won't draft all those picks. We'll probably give a couple away moving around the draft board. As for why you COULD draft 3 WR's... Well, you can play up to 5 WR's on the field at one time. QB : 1, LB's usually up to 3. But I agree we will probably spread the picks around more positions and provide more depth in multiple spots. It's just when I'm going thru the draft, WR always seems to be the BPA.
  15. IMO, after Beasley and Brown, I do not have much confidence in any of the WR's after them. IF this WR draft class is so deep, I would draft 2-3 to try and increase your quality of depth.
  16. fanspeak - kingdom connection - Brandon Norris Round 1: 4 WR's went before us including Jefferson. Highest WR is Shenault. These ppl were still available: 12 LB KENNETH MURRAY - OKLAHOMA 13 OT TRISTEN WIRFS - IOWA 15 LB PATRICK QUEEN - LSU 16 CB KRISTIAN FULTON - LSU 23 EDGE K'LAVON CHAISSON - LSU Round 2: Ainuk WR was available, but went with the S that the Bills supposedly love. Plus, great value. Round 3: Claypool just sitting there. Round 4: Still ALOT of good WR's out there. Round 5: I'm very happy with this draft. 22: R1P22 OT TRISTEN WIRFS IOWA 54: R2P22 S KYLE DUGGER LENOIR-RHYNE 86: R3P22 WR CHASE CLAYPOOL NOTRE DAME 125: R4P22 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA 155: R5P9 LB MICHAEL DIVINITY JR LSU 167: R5P21 EDGE KENNY WILLEKES MICHIGAN ST. 188: R6P9 RB AJ DILLON BOSTON COLLEGE 201: R6P22 OT SCOTT FRANTZ KANSAS ST. 207: R6P28 WR JAUAN JENNINGS TENNESSEE
  17. What do you have to give up to trade for him?? I'm sure Wash is looking for ALOT more than what I'm willing to give for him. How much will he want in a new contract?? Again, not sure he would be worth it. Finally, dude had head problems and couldn't put on a helmet... Yikes! I'd say pass.
  18. 5th round pick for a 2 year rental of a good strong complement RB... Yes, sign me up.
  19. It would be better for Poyer to play out his last year of the contract. With the new CBA going to be approved *hopefully*, the cap is going to jump next year IMO. More cap, higher wages...
  20. fanspeak - brad board Round 1: Ruggs, Jeudy, and Lamb all went in the Top 11, Mims went at 19. Kindlaw dropped from 11. Could have gotten Andrew Thomas or Chaisson here. Round 2: (27) Deandre Smith was still here, but took WR instead. Round 3: Highest rated player left except for a Center in the (60's). Round 4: Our pick is 125, 3 highest players are WR: (99)Bryant Edwards, (117)KJ Hill, and (118)Collin Johnson. So I go edge (125). Round 5: (155), could have gotten Tyler Johnson (149), but Antonio ranked (140). 22: R1P22 DL JAVON KINLAW SOUTH CAROLINA 54: R2P22 WR LAVISKA SHENAULT JR. 21. I think we're pretty much on the same page other than the amount of compensation to give up for ODB. For me, the depth of this WR class is what drives down ODB's worth. If you project good quality potential WR's all the way through the 3rd (prob not ODB level obviously), I find it hard to trade no more than a 3rd round pick (or multiple lower level picks) for him. Maybe ODB is just looking for that perfect team fit that will miraculously fix all his ills. Maybe he needs a strong armed QB that wants to throw it 70 yards and he runs under it to catch it... Who knows with this guy. Either way it will be a gamble to take him or gamble on the draft pick, but I wouldn't give up our first where we can get a great WR, OT, DE that will fill a spot on the team for 5 years...cheaply.
  22. I think if the Bills added a high end speed rusher like Clowney and lessened the time the opposing QB could hold the ball on obvious passing downs would make this defense truly elite.
  23. Tyreke and Frank might be bad people off the field, but have been good players and teammates. ODB is a potential cancer in the locker room when he doesn't get the ball enough. Supposedly, he was courting other teams while he was playing against them... that sounds like a guy that's all about himself. Now, like you said, would I take that chance on ODB? Yes, if it's at my asking price, which for this year and this crop of WR's coming out... is LOW. I'd rather take my chances on a college WR and roll the dice, plus I don't take the cap hit (~14MIL) with a rookie like I do with ODB.
  24. Blown away.... The dude's a mental headcase going on his third team in 3 years and was erratic before that... NOT going to get any blown away offers. Cleveland traded for a lemonhead. let's not help them out unless we are blown away with how little it will take...
  25. They still got that crap over there! That is crazy. Do the Duke/Lord/Royal just pocket the money or does it go to the gov't???
