Just looking at the young players on the team (non-rookies), the D is lagging behind. Cook is delivering big time at present, Shakir is steady and clutch as expected. Keon and Kincaid are taking steps forward and their production has increased. Torrence has had his best start to a season this year. Only Ray Davis has been a non-factor so far with minimal touches. On D posters are asking whether Rousseau is still on the roster, Benford's performance versus last year seems to have slipped, Bernard just looks small and unremarkable the one interception aside. Dorian Williams has not yet stepped up fully when his number has been called. Solomon has had opportunities to flash but has not. Epenesa is decent but not the hoped for "game changer". At least Cole Bishop is trending in the right direction and in the one game he has played, Ed Oliver was immense. Let's see what Hoecht and Ogunjobi can offer us when their suspensions are over. In my view we need to see the homegrown extended defensive players on their second contracts to really step up and deliver for us, right here right now and for the playoffs as well.

[Question] Top 3 Players Currently In The NFL Who Deserve a SB Ring
quincy replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Calais Campbell, Cameron Jordan and Khalil Mack are the three players that I am thinking of that are real veterans that fit this criteria the most. Marcedes Lewis is not on a roster but I don't think he has retired so he could be on this list later in the season. -
It'd be quite something if all the starting five OL are back for 2026 and potentially 2027 and beyond. I trust the salary cap will go up a fair amount this off-season to make it happen. Life must be good for the backup OL we have on the roster. Anderson gets some snaps as OL number 6 and the others end up only playing in blowout wins barring injuries or fatigue. Other posters are high on Grable, Lundt and VPG and their capabilities/potential, yet the starters appear to be locked into their roles. These backup players could hit free agency with very little wear and tear with good chatter about them going around the league. I wonder how it will all play out but we are blessed to have the stability and the very good players that are currently with us on the OL.
-
I am in the minority here however I'd be okay if Buffalo offers Torrence a new contract, we drafted him and developed him like Brown and Dawkins beforehand. Is there anyone currently on the roster capable of starting on the IOL next year? From my understanding only McGovern and Edwards are in their last year in 2025, so the 2026 anticipated starting OL is Dawkins - ? - ? - Torrence - Brown

Ravens at Chiefs - who do you want to have their third loss?
quincy replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
KC has a supreme home record, from 2021 onwards it is only us and Philadelphia who have beaten them at home twice or more in that span. Detroit has won there in week 1 of 2023, so that is a positive sign for their game. Baltimore has a lot of injuries as well, I don't think that Likely or Ricard have played at all yet this season. For all the hype of having a loaded roster they could really be stuck at 1-3. In a different thread I said I would not be surprised if KC was 6-2 coming into the matchup at Highmark. Unfortunately they know how to win and most teams make unforced errors against them despite them looking relatively mediocre a lot of the time. I want you to be correct and for KC to lose at least one of their next three games. -
Ravens at Chiefs - who do you want to have their third loss?
quincy replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would prefer KC to lose but I cannot see it happening. They are playing at home, in the biggest game of the week and this seems to be a game where it can be a "get right" game to kickstart their season in earnest. Assuming the Chiefs win in week 4, they are then back to 2-2 and will beat down Jacksonville (away) on Monday Night Football and the good vibes will return in time for another huge game at home versus Detroit on Sunday Night Football in week 6. In the next five weeks, KC has four home games, three true prime time games - 2x Monday Night Football, 1x Sunday Night Football and then their visit to Orchard Park in week 9. -
I was simply using NFL terminology. This phrase has been around for many years and fans and media will use those words whenever there is something that cannot be unseen but isn't corrected. Why should "clear and obvious" matter to the NFL? This article would suggest sports betting. NFL votes to expand instant replay assistance to help on-field officials fix 'clear and obvious' issues In reality it is more eyeballs for an a non-existent story, in this case benefitting the NFL. I don't think Josh Allen is gulity of anything based upon the video shown in the opening post. I'd say the other 30 fanbases would probably agree apart from Miami (who seemingly are pointing fingers everywhere apart from themselves) unless they are haters of Buffalo and/or Josh.
-
To me at least that isn't "clear or obvious".
-
I wonder whether Hoecht will eat into his playing time after his suspension ends? Bosa playing 87% of the snaps just feels like flirting with disaster but Bosa has played very well so far and is very noticeable compared to what we have had before.

The Full House or Power T formation! Kincaid and Knox on the line of scrimmage and Gilliam, Hawes and Cook in the backfield, can run or pass. Used to be my most liked formation when I used to play Madden all the time.
-
On offense I would think their philosophy will eventually change from dink and dunk to vertical. Yesterday they were going to deep to Thornton and eventually connected for a long touchdown on the third attempt. When all WR are healthy and available - Rice, Worthy, Brown, Thornton plus Kelce - bombs away especially if there is no ground game. A lot of speed and the Tyreek idea being floated. It would not be shocking to me if they are 6-2 when we play them, they are still wearing the AFC crown and we have to wrestle it off them.

Who would you rather start vs the Jets? Tre’Davious or Strong
quincy replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe that Strong would be the better option in week 3 facing Hill and Waddle, can't see the benefit of him not starting this week after playing well as a week one rookie. -
Membou's grading out that well is impressive, give that he is a rookie in week 1! Only 21 years old too. The Jets must be really happy that he's hit the ground running.

The KC Vs Chargers game implications for the Bills
quincy replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unfortunately the last time KC lost in week one, at home against Detroit in 2023, they retained their Super Bowl crown defeating San Francisco in overtime - Super Bowl LVIII, the only Super Bowl I didn't watch by choice as an adult. Detroit managing to blow their best chance to get to the Super Bowl in the Campbell era to date. KC going and winning on the road twice after the Wild Card at Arrowhead. In the Andy Reid coached KC era they've only been soundly defeated in the postseason by the Buccaneers and the Eagles. Playing five Super Bowls in six years is amazing, painful and frustrating (for every non Chiefs fan). Implications for the Bills? Focus on the Ravens and do your absolute best to get to 1-0 in the final stadium opener at our current home. There is no shame in losing to Baltimore if it does not happen and we have to believe that we can climb the mountain this year. I don't think KC will panic and nobody will count them out yet there are chinks potentially appearing in the armour and there is a first time for everything. What I'd love is for an AFC team to comprehensively defeat them in the playoffs this year, ideally before the AFC Championship game. -
I just don't undestand why they didn't say that adverts would happen four or five weeks ago when the transaction happen and they seem to have only informed the audience during an interview a day before the new season kicks off where Hanson is saying "don't shoot the messenger".
-
It was supposed to retain the same format for this season? I assume we will miss plays because of the advertising. Roger Goodell explained why he doesn’t think ESPN will change NFL RedZone

Tyrell Shavers makes initial 53 man roster
quincy replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I loved seeing a number 80 playing for the Buffalo Bills on offense but alas not by Shavers this year. Not seen this posted elsewhere. Still eager to see what he can do when given the opportunity. Bills' promising WR Tyrell Shavers changes jersey number to match two recent Buffalo stars Bills Rising WR Will Have a New Look For Week 1 -
We really need Bishop to show like he belongs this year as a starting safety, he has got to show something after Hyde being here for the playoffs and now getting in Poyer in for the whole of year two. I wonder what will happen to Justin Simmons this year.
-
Gabe is only four months older than Tyrell Shavers, both born in 1999, April 1st for Gabe, August 18th for Tyrell - both are 26 years old. Moore is a year younger at 25. Generally people want Shavers to make the 53 to see whether he can do something, he keeps working hard in practice but hasn't got a full opportunity yet to be WR, mostly being a special teamer. Right now I'd assume that Moore is WR4 if the season started this Sunday given Samuel is seemingly injured, Shavers the default WR5 and Samuel probably on IR. Having played three extra seasons than Gabe, Samuel has less than 700 yards extra and has scored less touchdowns, 29 for Gabe versus 23 for Samuel. For me there is not much upside in Samuel, age 29 and injured a lot and to my knowledge doesn not play ST but dead money comes into it. If Gabe does come back I am not going to dwell on the past, can he be a dependable WR4 this season? If he's back we just have to root for him to do well.

Did a trade down with New Orleans - 30 and 206 for 40, 71 and New Orleans' 6th rounder. I just hope that Sanders and Farmer are a sufficient compliment to our existing DT group. 40. TSW 2.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #56
quincy replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Voted Collins. We then at the very least would not be undersized at DT anymore and presumably would feel more confident in containing the opposing running game. 1TDT would then be well stocked for the next 3 seasons. -
I voted Revel this time around. He will seemingly miss a lot of this year and this is where you would hope the fifth year option comes into play where it will be IR/ease into pro football in year one, three very good years and then the fifth year option or long term extension happens. I am not sure he would be extended with only 2.25 good years on tape but I could be wrong! This time around I would be alright with any of the options that are available.

@Virgil and everyone else participating in the draft, I am sorry that I was unable to make the pick on schedule. When I was attempting to login there was a warning stating that the security certificate had expired. I was following the thread all day waiting for my turn to pick. Belatedly I welcome Maxwell Hairston to the Minnesota Vikings! I will continue to follow the draft even though the Vikings have no further picks. If I was to have made the pick as the Vikings GM, it would have been Jihaad Campbell (LB), who could have been a versatile chess piece for Brian Flores to unleash. Thanks to to all who stepped in to keep the mock going in my absence.
