  1. I also wanted Winovich in round 3. Considering what the Bills gave up in round 4. Chase Winovich, Justice Hill and Foster Moreau vs Devin Singletary and Dawson Knox Obviously going to root for the guys chosen but I think we needed a day 2 edge rusher.
  2. If another team is willing to part with a 4th for Zay, I am seriously tempted. At best he is WR4 after Brown, Foster & Beasley. My 6 WR would be: Size D. Williams & D. Sills Speed J. Brown & R. Foster Slot C. Beasley & N. Easley List Roberts as a pure PR/KR somehow, potentially cut DiMarco and keep Jake Fisher as TE4/FB1/Emergency OL. If the undrafted guys do not impress, cut or send to practice squad and keep Zay.
  3. Dawkins Spain Morse Ford Nsekhe - the largest line we can field or Dawkins Spain Morse Long Ford - the most likely variant. Hard on Nsekhe with lineup two, I hope there is a fair LT competition with best man winning the starting role. Wonder whether Spain being on a one year contract will also be a factor as from what I have read, he is a specialist LG.
  4. My partial answer is the market and the marketplace. Last years draft had a quantity of quarterbacks and teams wanting them - 5 picks in round 1. Browns, Jets, Bills, Cardinals as known suitors. This year quarterback needs were somewhat solved before the draft, e.g. Foles to Jaguars, Flacco to Denver. This years crop was much weaker and with limited demand. Imagine Murray did not declare, only 2 quarterbacks would have been taken in round 1. With Jones arguably not having a round one grade but on the plus side he did have the Cunliffe (Manning) connection. Tyree did work out with Jordan Palmer but it didn't boost him enough to be drafted. Let us hope that him not being drafted can benefit him and the Bills. Maybe some gimmick plays with Tyree and Josh on the field together.
  5. Tyree Jackson and David Sills V are very good UDFA signings. Both should have been drafted, Sills V had college production and Jackson rare measurements and arm strength. Glad they decided to sign with Buffalo.
  6. Jalen Jenks is still available - Defensive End Mitch Hyatt OT Tyree Jackson QB Benschawel OG Not bad choices for round 7!
  7. Maybe unpopular, but I want a kicker and a fullback. DiMarco and Hauschka to have competition. Alec ingold - Wisconsin Cole Tracy - LSU Looks like Buffalo will not pick a WR.
  8. McDermott has locked Beane in the lavatory or something! If David Sills or Anthony Johnson make it to round 7, I cross my fingers.
  9. No issue in picking Cody Ford, was surprised he wasn't a day 1 selection. Happy. I would have preferred a DE in round 3 - any of the players picked in that round - Winovich, Ferguson or Ximines. I thought that Sternberger and Winovich were round 2 picks and a bit disappointed that an RB was the choice in round 3. In fact I would have preferred any of the 5 picks immediately after Singletary at 73 - Sternberger - McLaurin - Winovich - Dieter - Long Preferred Foster Moreau to Knox but going to root for Singletary and Knox in any case. Expecting day 3 to feature more defense - Maxx Crosby, Blake Cashman, Hemp Cheevers, Vosean Joseph are prospects the Bills have met. Would be great if we can trade 147 and 181 for 124 (Seattle) and get a Kelvin Harmon or Hakeem Butler if available.
  10. I guess all depends whether Daboll wants to vouch for Smith Jr, he is young and from a big school. There are no Jimmy Graham''s/Gronkowski's in this draft in terms of height/weight (6 foot 7, 265lbs) - only day 3 guys like Trevon Wesco and Zach Gentry. Staying at 40, there will be player who unexpectedly slipped out of round 1 available to us. There are 5 to 8 players who I thought were round 1 locks e.g. Ford, DK etc.
  11. I would be so happy with Irv Smith Jr in round 2 at 40. Otherwise Cody Ford or Zach Allen. Should Jachai Polite be available in round 3 at 74 I'd risk that pick on him, bad combine but a very good past season, a fumble causing defensive end. If there is any trading activity, I like Amani Hooker, safety from Iowa at the end of round 3.
  12. At pick 40, the last 4 teams have drafted a WR in that slot. Will Buffalo do the same?! Personally I'd strongly consider Cody Ford and Greedy Williams at 40 instead.
  13. Looks like I have 19 pages to read through, my observations: Picking at 9, Buffalo got amazing value. Looking at the 14 big boards on FanSpeak that have been updated this week, Ed Oliver ranks between number 3 and number 7 on every board. 10 out of the 14 boards have him at the best player available to pick at 9. One board had Jeffrey Simmons higher, one had both Jeffrey Simmons and Brian Burns higher, one had Jawaan Taylor and the other Dwayne Haskins. His happy reaction to be picked by Buffalo is priceless. Great to see. All the best to him and the team in 2019.
  14. We signed a 35 year old RB! If Sanu can help out Josh Allen, why not? I also want Dexter Lawrence. Stopping is run is just as important as stopping the pass.
  15. They only player I would consider trading up for is Josh Allen. Make a trade with Oakland trade: Buffalo receives 4, 106, 140 Oakland receives 9, 40, 74 Substitute 74 for 112 and it is a parity trade under the Jimmy Johnson value chart. If Buffalo trade down, McDermott will draft Wilkins and Beane will draft Metcalf, both in round 1.
  16. Left field choice is Garrett Bradbury. Senior, Captain, great 3 cone and 40 yard dash at the combine. Can play RG next to Mitch Morse as a rookie. I think he will be a consummate professional, wonder whether the front office are still evaluating round 1 Center's after drafting Morse.
  17. Prefer Marquise Brown or Andy Isabella as pure speed guys. Best round 2 receivers I think are Deebo Samuel and AJ Brown. Latter could go round 1. AJ Brown and Isabella have great numbers from last season.
  18. I previously wanted Brian Burns, seems not to fit the defensive scheme Buffalo runs. There seems to be a consensus, realistic 3 of J. Williams, TJ Hockenson, Ed Oliver My fear is that they are drafted back to back by the Giants, Jaguars and Lions and we are kind of stuck at 9. Choices are one of DK, Dillard, Fant, J. Taylor, Wilkins, Bush, Ferrell or Cody Ford. I would draft Ford and line up the O-Line as Dawkins - Nsekhe - Morse - Spain - Ford This would be the biggest line we could get, improve the running game and help Josh Allen. Front office will choose one of Dillard or Wilkins if the original 3 are already drafted.
  19. Amazing if the above could happen. Work the phones Mr Beane. I don't think Dawkins is a franchise LT unless he gets motivated and puts in the work this year. Hope Morse inspires him and eases some pressure off him.
  20. Could Dawkins be used to obtain Gerald McCoy?
  21. McDermott has to go 9-7 this year to have a 50/50 win/loss record. I really hope this can be achieved/exceeded. Would McDermott make it to year 4 if he has a losing record after year 3? If McDermott coaches the Bills to a 12 win season, he could be a 1 time, 1 organization head coach for a much different reason! ?
  22. Beane would be smart to distance himself a bit more from McDermott imo. McDermott has all the makings of appearing to be a 1 time, 1 organization head coach. Beane appears and acts like a natural, McDermott for me is an uninspiring grinder. I hope Daboll can get the best out of Josh Allen. The power initially lied with McDermott, in time I hope that Pegula can see it to give Beane the upper hand.
  23. I have a feeling Jonah Williams will go top 10, potentially even before the Bills pick at 9. I think he is play for the Giants at 6. I think the Jaguars are in play for Hockenson at 7. Foles needs to have a legitimate TE and Hockenson is that guy. I can see the Lions taking Ed Oliver at 8, if he slips that far. My top 8 is Murray - Q. Williams - Bosa - Allen - White - J. Williams - Hockenson - Oliver Montez Sweat appears to be falling and it appears doubtful that teams want to trade up before our slot to get Lock or Haskins.
  24. I wanted the Bills to draft Watson. I thought it was what we needed, a player who I thought would bring a national exposure to the Bills and solve the quarterback problem. We have the earlier post saying after Trubisky and Mahomes were gone, the Texans owner instructed the GM to get Watson. Pegula could have given similar instructions. Why did he cede so much power to a rookie head coach? In time I think McDermott will face further heat regarding the 2017 draft, as time elapses it will get worse especially if Zay and Dawkins continue to be average at best.
