  1. Excellent point and I agree wholeheartedly. Still just a tad gunshy I guess even though I've been on the McBeane bandwagon since the start.
  2. Not completely happy with the cost in picks. Last WR the Bills bet the farm on didn't do so well...for the Bills anyway even though he's got a ring now..
  3. I'm really glad they gave some well-deserved credit to Alex Smith for his selfless contributions to Mahomes's development. Mahomes is one of those rare talents but I don't feel he would have come on so strong without some guidance and time spent watching the starter for a year. Smith could have been a d!ck since he knew Mahomes was his replacement but he chose to help the kid out without any reservations. Pretty rare IMHO
  4. Speaking of which, was just looking at highlights of Jauan Jennings who somebody's mock showed the Bills taking in the 3rd round. This is my first year actually devoting time to this aspect of the off-season so I don't know how he'll shake out. But his brief highlight video showed some good moves and receptions.
  5. Allen is still very much in development despite all of his improvements. He's learning from every game. BTW I loved the way he let Cody Ford spike the ball after the first TD v Pittsburgh. The Bills need to just keep doing what they have been doing all season. Don't try to get fancy just because it's NE. All normal laws of physics seem to get tossed aside every time this matchup rolls around anyway. Why convolute it now? Trust the process.
  6. Looking at NFC division leaders earlier this morning, it's pretty impressive that 3 of the 4 are 11-3 on the season.
  7. Not really defending Hauschka but I saw more missed FGs and PATs indoors yesterday than I can ever remember.
  8. Geez. Guy must really be an #######. Why kick the dog?!?
  9. I'm not & don't pretend to be hyper-familiar with the NFL rulebook. But I would like to hear about that incomplete pass to John Brown where the defender (Josh Norman?) had his ankles wrapped up while #15 was up for the catch. Was that a legitimate non-call for DPI? Thanks!
  10. My only hope left for today is that the Ravens throw down on the Pats and make them 8-1
  11. Sorry. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Not sure why it's posting so large. Am I missing the control somewhere? Thanks! I use my phone almost exclusively. Must be missing something somewhere... ?
  12. "Buffalo can chalk up two wins on missed kicks. The Bills’ season-opening 17-16 win over the New York Jets came in a game Kaare Vedvik missed an extra-point and 45-yard field goal attempt. In a 14-7 win at Tennessee in Week 5, Titans kicker Cairo Santos missed all four field-goal attempts including two from inside 40 yards." Maybe I'm suffering from a case of Cranial-Rectal Fusion but, since no one will ever know what would have happened had those teams actually made those field goals, doesn't this fall under the category of "taking what the other team gives you"? Who's to say if the Titans & Jets HAD made those kicks that the Bills wouldn't have still won? I haven't drunk so much of the Kool-aid that I don't realize the Bills aren't fully developed yet. This schedule, however, is based on last year's record, which wasn't great. That's just the way it works. As McDermott and many of the players have said ad nauseum, 1) the weekly goal is to end up 1-0 (which they have done pretty well so far), and 2) records don't mean squat BEFORE a game. For what DOES mean squat, see #1 Yes, the team that has given the Bills their only defeat thus far is the "defending" Super Bowl champs who themselves had a fairly pathetic offensive performance against this possibly not-so-good team even with all the turnovers. The time to make an intelligent determination of just how good this team is or isn't would be sometime in January 2020.
  13. Aside from the other great points made by others who don't buy Ware's assessment is penalties. Hopefully he meant D penalties because the offense is committing like they're on sale or something.
  14. That statement was in reference to VS NE. Or were you referring to the "hair all over them" modifier? An expression carried over from my youth..
  15. IDK but maybe they're being overly cautious given this offense's tendency to turn the ball over? (Just giving them benefit of the doubt)
  16. As much as I despise NE, their D is #1 for a reason and they showed up last week. I honestly don't think Allen was ever not off balance. The Bills D held Brady to his worst game in over a decade. Allen doesn't have even 10% of Brady's experience. The effects of those hyoertough defenses works both ways. Not to imply that Allen didn't mess up - he definitely made poor decisions with hair all over them. I just don't think he was ever able to get into any kind of rhythm against the Pats. Today he was so subdued I almost felt sorry for him. For the most part he protected the ball but it was almost like he had had a lobotomy.. His decision to slide instead of stepping out of bounds to me was very telling. I hope he gets some of that fire back into his play that has made him so exciting to watch and such an X factor that has given opposing defenses fits. Provided of course he still takes care of the ball.
  17. My wife is a diehard Bills fan-even surrounded by Cowboys faithful - and during the Super Bowl years. I can't imagine how painful not to mention annoying that had to have been.
  18. It's BS like that that makes the Pats the most despised team in the NFL. And their fans are 100x worse. I know that first hand - the neighbors behind us are rabid NE fans. Even their dog is hideously obnoxious. BTW, who names their dog Steve? ?
  19. Hands down, Cowboys I lived in the Rio Grande Valley (McAllen, Harlingen, Brownsville) for 8 years, my wife - a Buffalo native - lived there for 25 years. Insufferable hardly begins to describe Cowboys fans!
  20. Go for it is the only real winning option here. As much faith as I have in the Bills D to get the ball back, Allen has been pretty successful in those 1-yard make or break plays.
  21. You're right but, as a writer, it's just maddening to me. My wife, whom I love dearly, omits all vowels in many of her texts and frequently uses "too" instead of "to". What can I say, I'm quickly becoming an old fart. LOL
  22. You're right but I doubt Rogers was twiddling his thumbs all that time sitting behind Farve. Not dismissing the very real talents of Mahomes or Rogers. Just opining that had either been put in a starting role immediately after being drafted might not have seen the same longer term results but who knows. Both might still have become greats but to the point of the hackneyed statements that the Bills woulda, coulda, shoulda about both players it's just one of those things we'll never know.
  23. Can't help but wonder what his % would have been had they not stopped passing in the 4th. Particularly loved the completions he had on the run in the 1st & 4th. Honestly was holding my breath fully expecting an INT both times. He almost made it look easy. Was thinking how sick all the JA haters must be after the first two games. Unfortunately, they'll just save it as ammunition for if/when the Bills lose a game.
