  1. The AFC almost certainly gets the late game Sunday since either KC-BUF or PIT-BAL would be a huge ratings draw. The only game that would be bigger would-be GB-DAL, but that would be on a Saturday.
  2. Because they can get Canadian TV free. The Peacock game is on free in Canada. https://www.bellmedia.ca/the-lede/press/nfl-on-tsn-tsn-ctv-and-rds-super-wild-card-weekend/ "AFC Wild Card Game 2 – Miami @ Kansas City – Kickoff at 8 p.m. ET TSN1/3, TSN+, CTV Network, and RDS NFL Data-Enhanced Feed on TSN+"
  3. I wanted to get this out there since the Peacock game tonight is starting later today, and it may not get noticed in the Wild Card schedule thread or the upcoming game thread (which will be posted too late). The Peacock game will be shown to the Buffalo area, Rochester, Watertown, and the Champlain Valley, at least, for those who get CTV either OTA or via cable. Also parts of MI, MN, ND, MT, and WA. It will also be in El Paso, TX and San Diego, CA OTA for those who get Canal 5. But for Detroit, getting CTV OTA is now all but impossible ever since the analog CKCO translator on Channel 42 in Sarnia shut down.
  4. This was suggested by a fan, but it seems highly unlikely:
  5. The Cheffers' crew now get to watch the other Sunday playoff games in a cozy hotel room now:
  6. Both the PIT-BUF and PHL-TB winners will play on Sunday in the divisional round, per the NFL's 6-day rest rule:
  7. Due to the postponement of the PIT-BUF game, The NFL Today (pre-game show for CBS) will still be one hour long, occurring at 3:30 PM Monday now. Schedule in the OP has been changed.
  8. Buffalo will play KC on two days' less rest.
  9. The Peacock game will feature 40% less ads than a traditional NFL broadcast, but will simultaneously increase advertiser satisfaction through its use of innovative and unique dynamic insertion of ads: https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/01/12/peacock-nfl-playoff-streaming-ads This article shows that Peacock's in its use of innovative and unique dynamic insertion of ads during the BUF-LAC game "advertisers saw double-digit increases across key metrics including brand familiarity (+11%), favorability (+20%), consideration (+31%) and recommendation (+35%). The data also showed that those advertisers with custom integrations saw a 45% higher brand opinion rating and 14% increase in perceived fit."
  10. Kyle Brandt is awesome! I watch GMF for him.
  11. Wasn't there a thread complaining of the supposedly poor play of Martin and Bass this year, lol?
  12. It's 3 AM now I believe as they are showing the HOU-CLE first.
  13. I don't get this: LOL at this one. Saban is like "WTF?".
  14. I didn't realize he was this good: ------------------------------- Nice brackets:
  15. I like GMF though and Kyle Brandt.
  16. https://nypost.com/2024/01/12/sports/espn-nfl-in-advanced-talks-on-agreement-that-could-give-league-equity-in-tv-giant/amp/ "ESPN, NFL in advanced talks on agreement that could give league stake in TV giant" "ESPN and the NFL are in advanced talks that could result in the league taking an equity stake in ESPN, The Post has learned. As part of a potential agreement, Disney-owned ESPN would take control of NFL Media, which includes NFL Network, and the league would receive equity in ESPN. For the long-term viability of ESPN aligning with the most powerful sports league would enhance its position as the network plans to move to direct to consumer by 2025. While the idea of an ESPN-NFL alliance has been mentioned before, discussions between Disney-owned ESPN and the NFL are far enough along that sources said that owners and the Players Association are being informed about the talks [...] The NFL has been trying to unload its network for years now. In its recent talks that resulted in its $110-plus billion deals with ESPN, Amazon, CBS, Fox, NBC and YouTube, the NFL searched for a buyer, but was unsuccessful. NFL Media consists of NFL Network, NFL.com, Red Zone, NFL Films and NFL+. Since ESPN covers the league thoroughly, there would be synergies if the two sides are able to reach an agreement. Disney/ESPN might be able to secure better carriage arrangements for NFL Network. ESPN has targeted 2025 as the most likely year it will go direct-to-consumer. It is still possible it could move up the date to end of this year. When it does, it plans on offering all its programming without a cable subscription. A subscriber could choose to pay for the service directly through ESPN’s app or would still be able to opt for the ESPN channels through a cable or satellite provider.
  17. I will if you pay for my flight from Nevada! 😅
