  1. We own the tie-breaker against Las Vegas (and soon will against the Chargers). Both teams are irrelevant. Still, better that the Raiders win so they get a worse draft pick so they won't be able to draft a better QB.
  2. Uber and Lyft don't exist at night in some smaller towns. But taxis still work. Well one person told me a story in the 90's that not wearing a seatbelt could save your life. She knew someone where the top half of the car was sheared off somehow suddenly while the bottom remained intact. A seatbelt would have prevented you from ducking quickly to avoid the shear.
  3. Buffalo already went abroad this year, and Miami has the international rights to Brazil, so I'm thinking no for next year. Plus, Brazilians don't care about unknown northern cities like Buffalo, lol.
  4. Buffalo in Toronto was not included. And the only international matchup that has occurred twice is BUF-JAX I think.
  5. Games in 2024: 3 London 1 Munich 1 Sao Paolo https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-ownership-votes-to-double-international-games-inventory-beginning-in-2025 "In addition to the game in São Paulo, the 2024 NFL International Games will see three games played in London: two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a third at Wembley Stadium, where the Jacksonville Jaguars will play a home game as part of a multi-year partnership. A fifth game will see the NFL back in Germany for a third consecutive year, returning to Allianz Arena in Munich"
  6. Every team has to give up a home game once every eight seasons, however even with that rule, there will be many teams not wanting to give up more than just the one obligated home game every eight seasons. If the NFL overexpands international games to eight per season, teams will need to give up home games more often. I have also heard rumors the Cowboys could be the team hosting the Brazil game, for what it's worth.
  7. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39104280/sources-super-bowl-lxi-played-sofi-stadium-la From the article: "The game will be televised by ESPN and ABC. It will be ESPN's first Super Bowl telecast and ABC's first telecast of the game since Super Bowl XL in February 2006. [...] The league will sandwich the Super Bowl between the World Cup in 2026, when Los Angeles will be one of 16 North American host cities, and the Summer Olympic Games in 2028, giving Los Angeles a tripleheader of mega sporting events that will make it one of the sports capitals of the world." LOL:
  8. Agreed. Too much politics on the main forum. And these are a sampling of the non-football current topics on the first page: Sleep Apnea Andre Braughler Dies at 61 years old Stomach Flu what do you do Salt Water Hot Tubs? 50 Beers To Try Before You Die LOL.
  9. My Toyota has a drowsy alert where if it detects you are veering out of the lane too much it gives you a message to take a break. The problem is I drive a lot from Nevada to California across the Sierra Nevada on a narrow curvy road over the mountains. With a larger car, it is damn near hard to be perfect on these curves and keep the car perfectly in between the lines. So the lane departure alert signal was going off every 30 seconds and it eventually gave me a drowsy warning. I got annoyed after some time, so I just disabled lane alert, steering assist, and the drowsy message, because they were always false positives. [The other problem was when they were doing construction each night and the barriers had you purposely drive on a lane line. Then the lane alert went bonkers and tried to steer me into the cones.] So if they eventually make cars with intoxication monitoring, it better be accurate, which it is not. Also, I read they will never do a baby monitor for a baby left in the back seat of a car on a hot day because of liability. No one wants to undertake the liability if a child dies because their monitor failed. [And speaking of mandated equipment, let's not get into passive restraints mandated by Elizabeth Dole in the late 80's and early 90's, namely automatic seatbelts, motorized seatbelts, ad seatbelts anchored to the door. BIG FAIL!]
  10. Wow...thanks for the education! Bowls sounds croquet in the US. But it is pickleball that is really catching on among older folk here. And in the US, field hockey is mainly played by women, like netball in the UK, but only in the northeast and Ohio I think. But in the rest of the world, both sexes play field hockey.
  11. The angle I found interesting was that it was the Bills loss that probably caused him to get drunk. Third time in a row in the regular season KC has lost to Buffalo at home.
  12. To me it just seemed so funny. Like what's next? They are preempting the NFL to show tic tac toe? In the US, darts is only done sometimes at bars. It's like playing bingo. But I understand different countries have different likes. i read that darts is very popular in the U.K., it is the highest rated indoor/arena sport by far, ahead of snooker, netball, ice hockey, and bowls. [But what the heck are "netball" and "bowls"? I never even heard of those. I guess I'm not too cosmopolitan, lol!]

  14. Yeah, it was a weird call. Collinsworth seemed to enjoy it though. I actually thought it was hilarious:
  15. Agreed. Alcohol plus sports cars do not mix. This was a bad year for Chiefs superfans.
  16. https://www.kiro7.com/news/trending/chiefs-superfan-known-da-beard-killed-car-crash/DLEPILNJZVEVJE4YLRHTVVWBSI/ "Chiefs’ superfan known as ‘Da Beard’ killed in car crash" INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Daniel Nelson, a Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as “Da Beard” and “Red Beard” for his painted red face, was killed in a vehicle crash Monday morning, authorities said. He was 43. Nelson died shortly after midnight in Independence, Missouri, KCTV reported. According to Independence police, Nelson was driving a Chevrolet eastbound on 23rd Street around 12:20 a.m. CST when he crashed into a railroad bridge west of Noland Road, WDAF-TV reported. Police said that Nelson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The incident is still under investigation, but police believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor, according to the television station. [...] Another Chiefs superfan, Lynn “Weirdwolf” Schmidt, told WDAF that she had been with Nelson during Sunday’s game, a 20-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills. “He gave me the big bear hug that he always does,” Schmidt told the television station. “You know, you’ll see photos of us together, and he’s always got his arm just like clawed around you because he wanted to be close with people. “I think the game really took a toll on him yesterday. That loss was hard. I think he let things go.” ------------ EDIT: I read this on the KC forum: https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=17277174&postcount=33 "'Da Beard' is an anagram of his last moments: Bar. Dead." YIKES!
  17. https://www.totalprosports.com/nfl/referee-frank-steratore-flag-holding-investigation/ "NFL Fans Calling For Referee To Be Investigated After New Video Exposes Suspicious Behavior During Controversial P.I. Call vs. Jets (VIDEO) New York Jets star Sauce Gardner became a trending topic last night after a holding penalty that nullified a Patrick Mahomes interception in Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. When the replay was shown, it was clear that Sauce was not holding and the Chiefs got bailed out. Now, a new video seems to bring into question the actions of a referee during that controversial play. Referee Frank Steratore is being called out for an investigation as a video shows him grabbing for his flag as soon as realizes an interception was about to happen. If Michael Carter II’s interception stands, New York has more than four minutes to get the game-tying or go-ahead score. In addition to a questionable defensive holding call against Sauce Gardner, which wiped away an interception, Jets defensive lineman Jermaine Johnson could be seen getting held for a stunning length of time on a play that resulted in a 25-yard run for Patrick Mahomes. Somehow, the officials seemed to not notice Johnson being held for multiple seconds. The Chiefs caught all the breaks."

Those same executives and coaches said game officials and the league missed multiple calls that helped key the Seahawks' overtime victory over the Rams that sent Seattle to Saturday's wild-card round and prevented the Detroit Lions from reaching the playoffs. Even the NFL's competition committee is aware of what one source described to ESPN "as the worst officiated game of the year.
