  1. Well, thankfully, this year NBC will have Noah Eagle, Todd Blackledge, and Kathryn Tappen calling on of their Wild Card games.
  2. I'm wondering. This is what is in wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_Broadcasting_Act_of_1961 "Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 The act withdrew antitrust immunity for any pro football telecast if a high school or college football game is being played within 75 miles (120 km) of the broadcasting station on Friday and Saturdays from the 2nd Friday in September until the 2nd Saturday in December. This provision, intended to protect high school and college football attendance, has the effect of barring national broadcasts of NFL games on those days, since virtually all of the country is within 75 miles of at least one high school game on every Friday night in September and October." So I am wondering if this applies when the game in abroad. [I was also going to post this in response to someone's post on @Ethan in Cleveland's thread about Saturday last week being the most boring day for sports, but I was not able to find that thread at the time.] They are announcing it Wednesday.
  3. In my original title I meant the NFL is expected to make the announcement Wednesday, but the Brazil game will be during normal days.
  4. I'm going to be angry if another team signs him. We gave up a 6th for him. [Same goes for Frazier if he becomes a head coach somewhere and we get no comp pick.]
  5. The NFL is so popular in Brazil they can't even bother to show the Saturday games this week, lol:
  6. The league can only require teams to play overseas in seasons they have 9 home games, though teams can volunteer to play games otherwise. But Miami (alone) has Brazil as an international home market, so it might. As mentioned earlier, it also has a large Brazilian ex-pat population.
  7. Yeah, true. What I meant is he needs to come to Buffalo. It's only fair. We gave up a 6th for him.
  8. LOL: Hard for the NCF West as Brazil is either four or five hours ahead of them, depending on time of the season.
  9. Brail is two hours earlier than Eastern Time. They do not observe Daylight Saving Time, so early in the season they are only one hour ahead of Eastern Time. Perfect for a late DH game here in the US. Game might involve the Dolphins as Muami has a huge ex-pat population from Brazil. Miami plays Jacksonville next year, as do we. But all AFC teams only have eight home games next year, so it would have to be Miami at an NFC team probably.
  10. Now might be a good time to get Peacock, which has local NBC on its higher tier, IIRC. Or over-the-air works too.
  11. I never knew about that! Damn. I will have to research that more when I get home.
  12. Yeah, Michaels always gets the lesser of NBC's playoff games since their A-team gets too billing, obviously. In any case, I'm sure he is pissed right now and calling his lawyer.
  13. If he does go to the NFL, we get first dibs and he had better do a rookie contract or close to it. And if he does come back to Buffalo, @Araiza Curse needs to change his user name so the curse can be lifted! 😅
  14. He still calls them for NBC since he hs emeritus there, and he was expecting to this year. He says it is in his contract. He has called them each year and did NBC's LAC-JAX Wild Card last year and one or two regular season games last year. This move is a stunner to all. Expect a lawsuit soon.
  15. Al Michael, 79, storied play-by-play announcer for Amazon's TNF and announcer emeritus for NBC, is out for this year's playoffs on NBC, which does four playoff games this year. Michaels was unaware of this when contacted by the NY Post. Last year, Michaels did Chargers at Jaguars with Tony Dungy. https://nypost.com/2023/12/12/sports/al-michaels-out-of-nbcs-nfl-playoff-coverage-in-move-he-didnt-expect/amp/ "Al Michaels out of NBC’s NFL playoff coverage in move he wasn’t expecting Michaels called last year’s incredible Jaguars comeback win over the Chargers, but he and analyst Tony Dungy were widely panned for a perceived lack of enthusiasm. [...] When informed by The Post about it being in limbo, Michaels sounded unaware of the possibility. “It’s in my deal,” Michaels said. “Where are you hearing that from? That’s part of my deal. Are you hearing something that I’m not hearing?” There has long been tension between Michaels and top NBC executives, though they have done their best to hide it from public view, even giving Michaels an emeritus title when he was replaced. There was a failure to truly define what the emeritus role really meant, except for calling the playoff game. NBC decided to move on from Michaels, even though he longed to stay at the top perch on “Sunday Night Football.” NBC had long promised Tirico the lead role, and kept true to its word even after Michaels went out with a tremendous performance for NBC in the Super Bowl in February 2022."
  16. UPDATE 5: All announcers have been finalized: https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/nfl-week-15-announcer-assignments-revealed/ NFL Network Saturday: Denver at Detroit Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, Melanie Collins FOX Early: New York Giants at New Orleans Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma, Shannon Spake Atlanta at Carolina (C) Adam Amin, Mark Schlereth, Kristina Pink
  17. Here is the video is tweet form:
  18. At one point the guy in the back seems to be smirking at his tantrum.
  19. Game 272 (Week 18 SNF): Buffalo at Miami for all the marbles.
