  1. Ah yes, Zay Jones. He's still in the league, but just barely. I remember the support he received HERE despite looking like crap and a busted draft choice. "He'll be just fine" they said. LOL
  2. Why do people always want to invest emotionally-driven narratives to describe sports outcomes? "They quit!" "They didn't want it enough!" "They're too soft!" HUH? The Colts executed better than us, and our coaching was terrible for most of the game. McDermott is NOT a particularly good in-game tactician. I've said that 100 times here. It's only going to be so good with him as HC...and that gives rise to days like yesterday. MAKE MORE PLAYS! CALL BETTER PLAYS! MAKE BETTER COACHING DECISIONS! That' what wins football games (or loses them). Not cute emotionally-driven, psychology-based, story lines.
  3. The whole "rest" thing doesn't mean anything. There's no data to suggest defensive performance drops off with time on-field. These guys are elite athletes.
  4. Because they just did that for the last 20 years? Maybe?
  5. The D line has been poorly constructed and managed, pure and simple. It's one of the more glaring errors of the McBeane Era.
  6. People keep pointing to the Tampa game as problematic. The irony is that an offense of that type is what our defense is actually built to stop; that game may present more of a favorable matchup for us than games like Indy. We always win a few we didn't think we would win, and then lose a few we thought we should have won. An Indy loss is easier to take if we beat Tampa. But will we? Who knows!
  7. We used to have a great, TOUGH, guard on this team. His name was Richie Incognito. Unfortunately, he then went crazy and/or had some sort of drinking/drug problem and we got rid of him. If only we had a pair of guards like him on the team now!
  8. McD will have huge support at this forum for as long as he is the coach, simply because he is the coach. A HC in the NFL has many diverse job descriptions. In game decision making type stuff was never a strong point for McDermott, and he's actually improved somewhat at it over time. What concerns me lately is that the other stuff that he has been very good at has turned bad. I'm talking pregame preparation, leadership, determination, execution, playing penalty-free ball, and stuff like that. He was never a great X and O tactician to begin with; if the other stuff is going to start to slide as well....
  9. Do you know how many people Pegula has paid to not work for him? One thing Pegula has taught us, for sure, is that lengthy K term means nothing with him. If he decides its time for you to go, you're gone.
  10. The first Patriots game on MNF is setting up to be absolutely HUGE. Should be a great game.
  11. There were a lot of folks who predicted a Bills loss today. Here's some of the relevant predictions.
  12. I made exactly the same observation at exactly the same time on exactly the same play. Breida's speed opens things up and we need more of it, not less!!
  13. "Wasn't good enough at all today, and it starts with me" is literally how MCD just opened his post-game PC. 😭 McD criticized team tackling today. "Gotta win your 1-on-1s." McD refusing to comment on the loss of STAR today. "I'll only talk about the guys who are here."
  14. "I need to be better." -Sean McDermott
  15. This is what concerns me as much as anything right now. We've looked like a sloppy, poor-executing, penalty taking lousy 3 or 4 win team lately. We did NOT look like that earlier in the year or on our big winning streak at the end of last year.
  16. And the offensive side of NFL football hasn't changed AT ALL in the last 30 years. Right?
  17. And the miracle comeback playoff game against the Houston Oilers in 1993 was NOT A SELLOUT. Some things are not always as we remember them!
  18. I recall a dreadful loss at Indy (terrible team back then) as well during the SB years. Made fans question the quality of the team at the time.
  19. This is it. Some people said we were the pre-season favorite to win the SB and it went to everyone's head, I think. We don't know where this team is at in its career path. What if it is 1988 right now (relative to the last regime)! We might still be 2 or 3 years away from our first SB appearance, but it might be one of 4, and we might win 3 of them. I can wait, as long as the big picture stays strong.
  20. As long as we make the playoffs, you never know what will happen. It all depends on luck, timing, health, and the specific matchup we have in the playoff game(s). We could have lost our first game to the Colts last year, easily. Instead we won 2 and made it to the AFC championship. You never know!
  21. We played like a lousy football team today (penalties, mistakes, execution, play calling). That stuff has to stop right away.
  22. They just put up that on-screen graphic showing the Patriots as one of the four Division Leaders and it made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
  23. And everyone should be thankful for that. All we need is for Pegula to clean house at OBD and then have to hire a new administration. Might be another 17 years before we see the playoffs again.* *See Buffalo Sabres.
  24. Imagine how they feel in KC! This can be overcome, but some serious issues need to be addressed and fixed and pretty soon.
