I was always amazed at how the stadium went from seemingly 20,000 empty seats to full house in like the 5 or 10 minutes before game time. -

Miami's passing attack has been totally shut down both press and laid back zone play! So we can take our pick of techniques. -

They are getting to the point where they can't be comfortable with more losing if they are going to make the playoffs. A loss tonight and they are 8-6 with 3 games left against Packers, NE, and Jets. -

So I turned this game on about 10 minutes ago while doing other stuff. I finally just tuned in and focused and see there is 5 minutes left in the first half and Indy is leading 30-0! WTF! What happened to Minnesota? No point in watching this; I'm gonna make more productive use of my time. -
Holy cow! That thing is like a 4 legged snowplow! Those animals are HUGE. I grew up and lived in Buffalo for about 28 years. I have now lived in SE FL for about 8 years, after 15 in Northern VA outside DC. I hate everything there is about winter (and I used to enjoy skiing) and can't FATHOM moving back to a winter climate after this much time free of one. It's shocking to me that people choose to live their life in WNY, for example, where it is cold and crappy out for damned near half the year. I try to tease my family and friends in WNY with those palm tree photos as much as possible. BTW, and this is no joke, I just got home from my walk on the beach; overcast and a bit cool at like 76 degrees today; saw some hot chicks in bikinis nonetheless. Enjoy your snowstorm.

I have Fision and I am getting the game on NFL Network no problem. In Florida. If you guys can get this in your area (fibre optic) do it immediately! Makes you realize in 5 seconds how much cable TV sucks. It's yesterday's technology.

So I just looked for the most up-to-date weather info I could get at the 3 TV networks in Buffalo, which is where the best information you will get should be. They are pretty consistent with the latest info. that we will have 10-12" of snow accumulated by kickoff! I don't know when that is all going to fall or how well the stadium can keep up with it prior to kickoff, but this should be a crap show of a game. It's going to be blustery with additional accumulations all the through the game, according to info. in the last hour or 2. 👎 -

My point is he won't just be not "feeling good" as the other guy suggested. He'll be in pieces. Let me know if you need more help. -

Are you kidding? The poor guy might split in half if Milano connects on a big one like he did last week. With the cold, they'll be picking up shattered shards of Tua. -

Sounds good, but how derivative of "Lord of the Flies" is it? That's my concern. -

I have now seen all of Season 2 (loved season 1 as well) and I have been following all of the things they do in the show on the internet. Specifically, I am going to google maps and then choosing satellite view, and then zooming in to find the places they are at. I have found their hotel, the ancient Greek theatre (that is actually right near the hotel), many of the buildings they showed closeups of in Noto, including the church with the huge giant run of steps in front of it, and tons of other things. Their hotel is in Taormina, on the NE coast of Sicily. It's called the San Domenico Palace. It's $800 a night. You could totally rent a car or some scooters and see almost everything on the show in a fun 7 day trip to Sicily. The only thing that would be tough is when they get on the boat and sail to the Englishman's private palazzo. That's in Palermo, which is in the NW corner of Sicily, in a totally different part of the island. Most of the show has them going up and down the east coast and going a bit inland to the house from "The Godfather". It would be a really cool trip. -
Electric shavers are for Neanderthals and Philistines. I can't believe people actually use them. They wouldn't come close to giving my tough beard a close shave and they would rip up my face in the meantime. Good God.

Is there anything quite like the simple joy of fighting with anonymous strangers over the internet? That is the basic function that this online community (and many others) serves. It's not really about discussing football, is it? What about cars? What do you prefer? SUVs, minivans, or old fashioned sedans. Which is better? I say whatever you pick IS WRONG! -
I haven't even THOUGHT about the Pro Bowl, let alone watch it, in more than 20 years. Here's what they (and all leagues) should do: name players to the 2 rosters as an honor for those who make it, and then forget about actually playing the game. It's a leftover artifact of a bygone era and is just out of place in the modern sports landscape.

That's all very interesting, but I somehow can't believe William Shatner wrote that. Maybe he's a lot smarter than I thought. I think I have an idea of what he means. I think outer space would feel very cold and hostile, which it literally is. Regarding fears of the good life ending on Earth, why don't people do something about it? People live in fear of nuclear holocaust. When someone makes it clear they intend to piss in the global watering hole (see Vladimir Putin, and others) why doesn't the world collectively beat them over the head with a stick and throw their dead body in the watering hole instead? When emperors of ancient Rome got out of control, many times their own Praetorian guards would kill them (they had the access) and literally throw their corpse in the Tiber. Then Constantine disbanded them @ 300 CE for fear they had too much power. They were a lot smarter than us. The idea isn't to find a place where humans can live off-planet. The idea is to learn about the universe. Mars is an interesting location because it is a strong contender for maybe once sustained life. The discovery that life used to exist (or maybe still does) on Mars would be one of the major revelations of humankind, all time. And the great Western religions of the Earth would immediately have to add a few new myths to the collective whole, so as to explain this new "problem."

I'll be watching both games this weekend, but this is easily the worst WC tournament I can remember, right down there with the one in South Africa. The location immediately reduces expectations; it's just not in soccer country; the WC should NEVER be in a place like this. Then you have Italy failing to make the tournament before it begins. Now are down to a score of like C+ AT BEST before it begins. Then Germany fields one of its worst teams in 30 years and bows out in disgrace...again. Then America does what it does best: lose. At this point, why watch? No one playing deep in the tournament this year is a classically SOLID football team. I am thinking of the epic semi-final match between Germany and Italy in 2006; either of those teams would mop up the field in this tournament this year. I think I will root for Argentina; I don't need to see France win back to back championships.

Week 15: Dolphins at Bills on Saturday Night Football
Nextmanup replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
EDIT: I just googled that it was estimated 9 inches fell during the Colts game. The thing is, we are going to have like 8" on the ground before the game even starts and it will be accumulating the whole time. It's not like it will arrive at 9am and they have all day to clean the field. There will be snow on the field at kickoff--at least some. -

How many inches snowed during the game in the Colts game? Are you kidding? 2-4 inches in 2.5 hours means steady, accumulating snow all game long basically. Like enough that you can't see the field or yard markers. And yes, that's total garbage. No one will be able to actually play football. Don't get me wrong, I know this is a divisive topic. I remember the in-game thread for the Colts game here very clearly. Very early on, the comments were split down the middle. Half of everybody LOVED what was going on; the other half HATED IT. I was in that latter group. It's kind of fun and novel for about 5 minutes; then you realize it just sucks, and you aren't going to see a football game that day. Thats my take on it at least.
