  1. Looks like EJ Gaines has been placed on IR. It’s too bad because when he’s healthy the guy is a player but injuries seem to be a major issue for him. No idea why - but again, EJ couldn’t finish a season. I wanted the Bills to re-sign EJ, especially when he didn’t get the big FA deal, but his lack of availability is probably one reason why it didn’t happen. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/11/07/browns-place-e-j-gaines-and-christian-kirksey-on-injured-reserve/
  2. Funny thing is a lot of fans in this forum have said “Bucky and Sully are always negative” then proceed to complain and over exaggerate about how bad Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott have done this season. I guess it’s ok to be “negative” if you are a fan.
  3. A portion of Bills fans can be such d**** sometimes. I’d suggest you read Tim Graham’s article in The Atlantic on Peterman.
  4. Didnt he have some major health problems? I think his family basically begged him to resign in Denver
  5. This is a surprise considering he started just about every game this season after Vontae walked at halftime. You typically don’t cut your starting CB.
  6. Thats what Bucky was saying about influence. The Pegulas are such big players in town owning 2 sports franchises. They have direct influence over a WGR and indirect influence over the Buffalo news, television, or radio through all of the advertising they do. I hope that Bucky’s narrative isn’t right because I personally have always liked Terry and Kim. But if he is right, it’s not a very good look. There could be some truth to this. I have heard that the News actually makes a lot of money as a commercial printing service. Much more than revenue from the newspaper itself I don’t buy it...only because there are a number of reporters in town with a lot of access to players etc. None of the big players in town have reported this, so I don’t think this dude from Rochester is sitting on a major scoop and no one is reporting it
  7. Seriously though....fans are giving them crap for being negative. The stuff in this forum is far more negative and viscious than anything Bucky or Sully wrote. I think they were doing their job - and don’t feel they should be penalized for that
  8. I came across and interesting interview on Twitter with Bucky Gleason. In the interview he sounds good about a number of topics. Including the Buffalo News - he said that the new management from outside of Buffalo too over and didn’t understand Buffalo sports. He said they bought into the Twitter mob that said they were too negative. So when they took away his column, he knew it was time to leave. He also said that the Pegulas and the Bills significantly influence the local media either directly ($$$$) or indirectly (advertising $$$) - alluding to WGR and other outlets in Buffalo. Later he said that they both tried to get press credentials from the Bills to cover the team. The Bills denied their website The Maven - which is kind of like a free version of The Athletic - and are the only team in the NFL team to deny press rights to The Maven. He later tried getting credentialed through 1270 AM, where he has a radio show. 1270 AM was already approved but since Bucky and Sully weren’t on the original press list for 1270, they were again denied. Again, Bucky says this is very rare in the NFL. His take is that the Pegulas and The Bills are essentially blackballing Bucky and Sully because they don’t like how critical the duo has been. In his mind, this is an atrocious and petty thing to do to a journalist. Its a facinating interview. Check it out: http://moranalytics.com/ep-66-bucky-gleason-sports-writer-radio-host/
  9. That’s because you are going by W-L records, as though that’s the only metric as to whether a coach gets fired. Fact of the matter is, McDermott has a ton of power around OBD. Rumored to be more power than any other Bills coach before. Also you have an owner in Terry Pegula who doesn’t want to go through another coaching search. Then take into account, the McDermott and Beane likely forecasted that this slide was coming - as evidenced by their refusal to deal any 2019 picks. Not to mention the good will he earned by ending the playoff drought last season. All of these factors make it inevitable that McDermott WILL be back in 2019 and after as well. My point is, you can demand his job all you want but it just isn’t going to happen.
  10. They gave up 18 freaking points! How can you say they “ran away with it?” It’s clearly not true. It would seem that beat NO or LA you need to outscore them,m. Just like NE, their offenses are so good, it’s impossible to shut them down. There’s little doubt that the 2018 Bills have the firepower on offense to go toe-to-toe with either of those teams. But I do think that defensively they would be fine. The Bills will always be fine on defense under McDermott. He’s proven to be a good a good defensive coach. It’s offense that is the huge question mark
  11. I think you have had one too many Labatt’s. I didn’t share my thoughts about anyone. I just said it’s useless to complain because no one at the top is getting fired after 2018. It’s not going to happen, but people here honestly think there’s a chance of McDermott or Beane losing their jobs. That would be like me repeatedly saying “the Bills aren’t going to make the playoff this year.” We already know that, so what’s the point?
  12. No they can say what they want, but statements like “Beane should be fired” are just futile because it’s not going to happen.
  13. Also if you remember Schopp was off air for about 20 minutes through a commercial break. Bulldog held the show solo w/o and explaination. It was clear that Schopp was taking a call off air - either from his boss, Derek Boyko, or McDermott. Either way he got his pee pee slapped and got an ear full, and was shaken up when he returned on-air. I don’t think he’ll be so brave when he has a McDermott on the line Right....it’s an empty conspiracy theory. But the morons who call into WGR will “billieve” it.
  14. Interesting....because he didn’t get crushed against Tom Brady and The Patriots, who also put up a lot of points and have an innovative play caller and HOF QB. McDermott is a pretty good defensive coach. The defense will be fine, it’s the offense we have to worry about
  15. Schopp is an arrogant SOB but he’s not bad on-air. I just wish WGR would put someone on the show that would stand up to him. Bulldog Chris Parker never does. Even when he tries his arguments make no sense and he stammers and loses his train of thought. If Schopp has a counterpart that could debate him, it might actually be worth listening to.
  16. Fans can come on here and whine all they want. McDermott and Beane are going no where. You may see a few position coaches or Crossman get fired, but don’t expect any top players to be out of job anytime soon.
  17. I agree, and in all honesty this is somewhat unfair and insulting. That was like when Shady said said Chip Kelly was “racist” for trading black players. It’s all conjecture. Now to say that McDermott might have a bias toward Peterman - though I feel that it has more to do with work ethic, character, and personality. I don’t think this at all, has to do with faith. Schopp has no balls. The last time he talked about Peterman on the show with McDermott, he got his peter slapped during the broadcast. He was off-air for an entire segment and then was shaken up when he returned. He either got an earful from his boss, Derek Boyko, or Sean mcDermott himself. Translation....he’s all talk
  18. Not gonna happen anything soon...keep venting but he is the Bills GM for at least 1 year...maybe moore
  19. Everyone has a built-in excuse. No changes at the top. Daboll stays. Maybe assistants. The one guy who gets first is Danny Crossman
  20. The “culture of losing” is pure BS. Good players + winning = good culture
