Right but remember, at some point the Bills - probably next season the Bills “window” is going to be open. How many years do you have then - maybe 2 before you have to pay the QB. This move would be a risk, but one you are going to have to take. This scenarios is really interesting because there are good arguments on either side

Is DL a position of depth and strength though? The Bills will get Harrison Phillips back, but are looking at the possibility of Jordan Phillips leaving. They’ll also be able to get out of Star’s deal in 2020 or 2021. The cap hit is big but then again, we have space this year and next, and you’re getting an All-Pro who would help solidify your D.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/rams-to-reportedly-shake-up-coaching-staff-roster-following-non-playoff-season/ I’m not one to say that the Bills should trade for the player who was released or rumored to be traded. But this one makes a ton of sense. Interesting article from CBS. Good old Michael Silver is speculating that the Rams could be making changes both with coaches and players. He mentions that Aaron Donald would be candidate for a trade given the hellish cap situation. While he hasn't suffered a dip in production, Donald -- who leads the Rams with 12.5 sacks this season -- would likely fetch at least a first round pick in a trade. Los Angeles does not currently have a first round pick in the next two drafts after trading them to the Jaguars in exchange for Jalen Ramsey earlier this season. While trading the 28-year-old Donald would appear unlikely, it would help the Rams add other pieces as they look to contend next season in arguably the NFL's toughest division. "I don't know exactly what's going to happen," a Rams' veteran player told Silver, "but I'd expect some major changes around here in the next few months." The reality of this is that Unfortunately it seems like old man Silver is speculating big time. He basically said everyone on the Rams is up on the chopping block, which likely isn’t the case. He then says they could move on from Donald and then says, “it’s unlikely” Classic misleading click bait. But let’s say it’s true. I think Donald would be the perfect addition to the defense. He’s been playing in Wade’s 3-4 the past few seasons and doing awesome but his best years came in a 4-3 where he amassed 28 sacks over two years. If you are Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott, I think this is a dream scenario and a no-brainer. You trade a 1st and whatever else to get Donald to Buffalo and take on that giant contract. So what do everyone else think?

There is one primary reason we lost this game

17 points isn’t enough. Winning like that is not sustainable in 2019. Defense wasn’t great but neither was the offense 100% scapegoating I’d say: 30% defense 70% offense Outside of the big throws, the offense didn’t really do much to put together drives and Lee New England off the field. -

Is 17 points enough to beat a Super Bowl Champion? I don’t think it is. A lot of blame goes to the defense and a lot goes to Allen And we lost because our offense couldn’t score more than 17 pts -
I think I'd rather have the Titans as #6 seed

Yeah as long as we can play Houston in the Wildcard round. They are not as easy team- then again neither is Buffalo -
- the offense turning a turnover deep in NE into only 3 points and not 7. - Josh Allen overthrowing Dawson Knox in the endzone - Bills going 3 and out after Brown’s TD, forcing a tired defense back on the field. - 1st and goal from the 8 with the game on the line (offense dropped the ball too) - Allen misses an open Knox for a TD 17 points! Not enough to beat a playoff team. Holding the defense accountable for this loss is the ultimate in scapegoating. You’re doing a great of it!!!! Was it worst that having your QB overthrow an open TE for the game tying TD?

DE is an interesting position. The FA class at DE is pretty strong, so even if Shaq does walk, there will be options to replace him. I don’t know if I see this team giving Yannick a huge deal. I think we might be more likely to draft at the position or sign a few players in FA like they did at OL this season. I think we certainly need to get out of the Murphy contract and Hughes becomes interesting....because like McCoy this year, I can see them moving on from him as well.

Why We Will Struggle in the Playoffs
Phil The Thrill replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really. The offense couldn’t score 24 points. I guess we need to count on the defense to keep the score under 17 points to win? You are making too much sense!!! -
You are being bery dramatic. Like waaaaay too dramatic: 1 - the team needs to show itself it can be the top tier teams to have the confidence in the playoffs. 2 - important to get the "lose all the time to the Patriots" monkey off our back for next year This is more about YOU than it is about the players. YOU needed confidence that the team could play good. YOU wanted to get the monkey off YOUR back to feel better. The players didn’t need this win. Win or lose - this game has no effect on the 5t Ok fine but don’t pretend that this loss was something it wasn’t. It doesn’t mean they have any less of a chance in the playoffs
-
“they cliched it on our backs?” What the hell does that mean? Would it be any better if they won the division in the Miami game and not against the Bills? Who cares? Who gives a damn? Silly argument. So you are saying losing it on a tiebreaker makes a difference? I thought there were more victories!?!?!?’b Ok sure.... I can admit that meaningless was the wrong term. But this game likely has effect on our playoffs standing. That was my point
-
Again I get the disappointment from the fan base but let’s call this loss for what it is - a game that likely had no bearing on the playoff round in a few weeks Don’t pretend that this loss is going to have some sort of negative psychological effect on the players. It won’t. The Bills lost a heartbreaking game to NE Then won 3 of the next 4 The Bills beat Dallas handedly on the road Then lost by 1 score to Balimore at home The Bills beat Pittsburgh on the road Then lost by 1 score on New England My point is that this a resilient, even-keel team and these losses they seem so “devastating” to the fan base, often have little effect on players. On the other hand, big wins are guarantee of momentum. Just because the Bills beat a good team in Dallas was no guarantee that they would beat a good Ravens teams. And a loss to NE is no future indicator that the team is going to lose in the wildcard card round. Right some Bills fans have a “loser” mentality but the players don’t...thank goodness. You do realize that even after a win, in order to win the division the Patriots had to lose to Miami: There was an 8% chance of they happening Ok maybe but I don’t think the outcome will have any kind of effect one way or another on the playoffs. Fans need to chill
