  1. Yeah they raise rates all the time. I think some keep their price low to build up a body of work/reviews then up the price. I believe Levi Wallace was at $25 and then doubled his rate Yeah I agree. The price is really good and he seems to do a pretty good job and gives you a heart felt message. If you got a video from him you would recognize him I think Barkley is too high but in the videos he recorded, he does a really good job.
  2. I thought this was kind of funny....this morning I heard a celebrity on a talk show plug Cameo. It’s a new website that will allow you to commission participating celebrities and athletes to record a video message. So naturally, I searched to see what Buffalo Bills were available. The results were very random and the prices (set by the athletes themselves) were puzzling. There are current Bills, along with former Bills of the past, players you’ll remember for having a cup of coffee with the team, and a few you might not! The link below will take you to the Bills page. If you click on each players name, you’ll get to see samples of their videos https://www.cameo.com/c/buffalo-bills Here is the list of Bills along with the prices to hire them to record a 30 second video. The fun part is looking at the name and then seeing what they charge. Don Beebe $25 * Matt Barkley $150 * Harrison Phillips $30 * Isaiah McKenzie $30 Andre Reed $175 Chris Speilman $50 CJ Spiller $25 * Levi Wallace $50 Karlos Williams $45 Fred Jackson $100 Jeremiah Sirles $10 * Lorenzo Alexander $50 Terrel Owens $350 Sammy Watkins $100 Doug Flutie $220 Eli Harold $22 Aaron Williams $20 Marquez Sullivan $25 * Dion Dawkins $35 * Victor Bolden $20 * Christian Wade $20 * Voseon Joseph The prices just don’t seem equitable to the relevancy of each player. For instance Voseon Jospeh charged $100 a video, whereas a more well known Bill like Lorenzo Alexander is half that. Karlos Williams is charging almost the same as Levi Wallace, a current starter! Matt Barkley is $150 - almost as much as a HOF like Andre Reed. I love Barkley but who would really pay that much?!??!??!?? Marquez Sullivan, Eli Harold, and Victor Bolden? Not many fans know them, yet they charge almost the same as Don Beebe or CJ Spiller! If you are looking to surprise a Bills fan in your life - here’s the best value IMO; Dion Dawkins ($35) Great talker and an affordable price Don Beebe ($25) Perfect for the older fan, if you don’t want to spend $175 for Andre Harrison Phillips ($30) Donates all proceeds to a charity in Nebraska Lorenzo Alexander ($50) A little more expense but one of the more well-known players on the team.
  3. 5 catches for 63 and 1 TD. I’d be ok with that Sunday
  4. The problem with PFF is that it’s all opinion based. It’s one thing if coaches are assigning grades or creating a formula to give their players a score. That makes a little more sense since they know exactly what the call and player responsibility should be. But the PFF are simply guessing. I’m sure that they have spent a lot of time learning the game but, again, people take their ratings as though they are “god” when it’s not the case. The other thing that gets me are the made up statistics like “interceptable passes” or near QB-WR connections. These stars are totally useless. In their defense, the other data that PFF produces is quite good. For instance success rate on 4th down etc. I think these analytics can be helpful for game management. I’ll give them a pass therr. The rest of their info like grades are largely speculatory.
  5. A burner account is an anonymous Twitter account that someone creates under a different name. You use a burner account to send tweets without completely revealing yourself as the author. So for example Sean McDermott could open a burner Twitter account under a random name like @ProcessPun8787 and start tweeting about how Sean McDermott deserves COTY.
  6. Gettleman’s describing of “computer folk” aka an analytics department, remind me a lot of Russ Brandon’s “robust analytics” speech. It was the trendy thing to do in the NFL so he started an analytics division....that did nothing with the football product. They did run analytics for the business office and travel department. Like Russ, Gettleman seems like he’s ushering in analytics for the purpose of doing it, without having a real plan
  7. Good for Eddie. Seemed like a real good guy. But when they gave him significant playing time, he didn’t really deliver. Maybe he can give Minnesota a boost in their DL rotation
  8. Same but you have to remember there’s a great chance that neither is at 100%. While they doesn’t help the Bills, it important to know these two might not be able to play up to the level we are used to seeing them at.
  9. No and he also had to deal with the a non-football guy who had no idea of that side of the NFL (Russ Brandon) sharing his input into football decisions. It was a bad situation, working with a bad GM and team president. Still Doug could have handled this differently and I think even he would admit it
  10. No tantrums, Doug has kind of grown on me. I think he’s learned from what happened in Buffalo. But I don’t think it’s a good decision to retain him. He has shown that he’s an average coach but what he’s done the past 2 seasons is not impressive. If I were a Jags fan, I would be super pissed, but oh well - not my team. Almost like in 2008 when Ralph announced he was retaining Dick Jauron. That was worse but still disgusting.
  11. Yep I can agree that. Going back to my original post - this is why I don’t feel the trade was the disaster some fans pretend it was So when this trade was made in October 2017 the Bills - had not gone to playoffs in 17 years - were 5-1 for the first time in years - went “all in “ to make the playoffs but didn’t have to deal a first or second round asset for a player with decent production and a lot of potential. You’re telling me, as this time you didn’t like this move and were cool with Zay Jones, Andre Holmes, and Deonte Thompson at WR
  12. That’s fair. I don’t disagree that this was one the defense’s worst game this season. But I do think that you can’t expect the defense to hold every team to under 17 points, and that’s what the Bills defense is being asked to do. I don’t think this is sustainable in the playoffs and also don’t feel that asking the offense to score more than 17 pts is asking too much
  13. First, I’m focusing on 2017 and the moment that they made the trade. I’ll agree it was not “good” in the sense the returns from KB didn’t equal what they gave up. This is especially true in 2018. When you release a player mid season that you traded so, that’s probably not a good deal. My point is that the move to make the trade was actually a good idea and it’s not as lopsided as you make it seem to be. Hap, I swear, you must work for PFF because now you are using irrelevant numbers to push narratives that doesn’t exist. Using Jordan Matthews’ catch percentage is moot because he was on IR before Benjamin even joined the team. And he played about 4 games that season. So huge swing and a miss there. Also bringing in Clay’s number are again irrelevant because again, we’re talking the WR position. Not TE. I don’t think that any defensive coordinator could watch Benjamin and Thompson and honestly say that Deonte Thompson was a better receiver. KB was better that season, had more ability, and more experience. Don’t pretend that fans and the media didn’t think so either, because there were several articles written questioning whether he was a #1 WR. That’s not saying much, but again his specialty was the 50/50 ball and he had a QB that didn’t throw those passes. So again using catch % is a faulty metric given those circumstances. He did love throwing short passes to Zay Jones, especially in garbage time (and there was a lot garbage time for opposing teams), which accounts for a higher catch percentages. Also while the Bills WR’s that season didn’t scare anyone, it’s clear that most of the attention in the secondary went to Benjamin. They doubled or out their best player on him which again effected his productivity. Foster was a rookie in 2018, and again I’m talking about the 2017 season. Your “polishing a turd” metaphor is A. Disgusting and B. shortsighted. You can find fault with who the team put on the field at WR but you also have to remember they were turning over the roster. They couldn’t address every position and they knew that 2018 would be a step back. I guess you are holding it against Beane that late round picks like Austin Prohel or Ray Ray McLeod didnt pan out? That’s just silly. Here’s my question to you - if the Bills don’t make the trade for KB, do they still win enough games to make the playoffs? Because I don’t think they do.
  14. Sure the defensive game plan did not work. I’m not arguing that. They are *part* of the reason the Bills lost. The other part is the offense. There were too many 3 and out drives. The Bills couldn’t move the ball against the defense. And here’s something that everyone conveniently forgets. When the Bills went up 17-10, they then proceeded to go 3 and out over their possessions. That’s not going to win you games against New England. So going back to my original point, many Bills fans are giving the Bills a complete pass on the NE loss and I don’t feel it’s warranted
  15. This is kind of my point. It’s shocking how many people give the Bills offense a pass for only being able to score 17 points against NE. It’s not good enough to win
  16. Again... this is the type of mentality in fans that drives me nuts. It’s time to block this guy
  17. Not really.... The offense couldn’t score more than17 points. If Miami scores 17 points they lose Nope Daboll was seen interviewing for Head Coaching positions
  18. I think you have to realistic to where this team is at. They were 6-10 a year ago with a “a parody of an NFL QB.” Regardless of what people will say, most unbiased observers took a look at the schedule and predicted 6 or 7 wins. Very few knowledgeable people picked them to make the playoffs and many predicted that Allen wouldn’t produce as much as he has. Based on the comments here, it seems that people expect this team to contend for the Super Bowl when in reality they are probably a few players away.
  19. This is very common with a lot of Bills fans (and many Buffalo-based media personalities) these dayS
  20. They gave up 24 points and you call that getting embarrassed? Maybe you are counting yardage or style points....that makes a lot of sense. Please. They didn’t play their best game “defensively,” but again I don’t call allowing 24 points getting embarrassed. That’s where the garbage comes in. Same situation against Baltimore, they didn’t win, but I don’t think you can say that “they didn’t play well.” They lost to a better team and still had a chance to win at the end. They scored enough points to win against Pittsburgh and the plan was to play conservatively and it worked. Oh and by the way it was against the #1 defense in takeaways, in their house, in a prime time game that the team rarely loses. But I guess they “didn’t play well” So your point is again debunked. They lost by one score to 1 Super Bowl contender and 1 defending Super Bowl champion. They didn’t play well enough to win but your statement is a gross exaggeration But I guess “they haven’t played well” for a month. Thank you for actually making sense
  21. Yes thank you for saying this, because after reading some of the responses here, there are members that should take what you say to heart. Some Bills fans are a walking contradiction. When the team wins a game they act like the Super Bowl is next. When the team loses they act like it’s the end of the world. When the lose to NE, they literally cry and say “oh why can’t we beat the Patriots.” It’s actually pretty sad, but from what zone read Cleveland Browns fans are the same way. Losing for so long seems to take a toll on fanbase. I also think a lot of fans are highly influenced by the media that talks down about Buffalo - namely PFF, Mike Schopp or anyone else. You will see some people here or on Twitter using the same arguments...verbatim. It’s extremely annoying
