Today’s outcome is meaningless. It won’t be in the players minds in the playoffs. They’ll move past it. Like I said, this game seems more devastating for fans than players. The effects of this loss won’t linger for players. Bills fans though. That’s another story 2002 when many of these players were in 2nd grade.

Brian Daboll has no future here
Phil The Thrill replied to Tesla03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daboll’s is go nowhere unless he gets hired as HC. You should be praying for that because he’ll be back next year. Learn to love it because Daboll will be the OC in 2020 -
No facemask call on Josh's 4th down run.

It was a big call missed -
Would it really though? Do you think a win vs NE. Followed by a loss let’s say in the Wildcard round would carry over into the offseason? Because I don’t. I think a wildcard win would be a much bigger victory and I also think that after a wildcard loss, fans forget about the NE win. It would have been nice for fans but for this postseason or behind, this loss is not the big deal many are making it out to be

Again, I think you are overanalyzing this loss. I don’t think it’s that simple. That the players says “We can beat the Patriots so we can beat anyone!” It doesn’t work like that. Teams often come out flat after having a big emotional win. Fans are upset because NE always wins, but it’s different with players. This game means very little to the overall direction on this franchise

Do we rest the starters next week?
Phil The Thrill replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No....Terry Pegula would pull a Ralph Wilson. ”Hey Sean....start that Barkley kid over Josh. I’m paying him a lot of money!” -
I wanted to the Bills to best the Patriots more than anyone, but after reading Twitter and some of the comments in here, I can’t help but feel that fans are overvaluing this loss to New England. It would have been fun to beat New England but in the grand scheme, the Patriots were never losing to Miami next week. The Bills would be a 5 seed either way. I think that some fans don’t understand that this wasn’t for the AFC East Championship In two weeks when we play Houston or KC, what effect would a win versus NE really have? Would a Bills victory over NE mean anything in the Wildcard round? Absolutely not. Does the loss mean that they are any less likely not to pull off an upset? Probably not Most fans won’t even think about this game in two weeks and just like the players they’ll be “onto Houston” or wherever else. I also don’t seem this loss as having any effect on players. As great as the Bills fan base is, they are super reactionary, and many online are saying “this shows the Bills won’t ever win a playoff game. One and done.” WTF Overall point here is either way, we would have been the 5th seed. This loss means nothing other than showing that the Bills might be a few players away from challenging for a Super Bowl, but overall they are trending upward

This is not a very good take. Lynn was handed a contender in SD and look how he did this season. He’s on the chopping block and the team has underperformed. So much for your “quality HC.” The rest is textbook “Bills fan revisionist history.” Sammy Watkins is somehow a Hall of Fame WR is some people’s eyes

Bills better be scouting “hands catchers” at WR
Phil The Thrill replied to whorlnut's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watkins and Hopkins!?!? Not exactly on the same level The sad thing is that Zay Jones was a “hands catcher.” He caught everything in college. He just wasn’t the same WR in the NFL. Terrible draft pick -
They was awesome. In all seriousness, I think it was Ralph Wilson that ruined my 20’s and 30’s but NE had a part in it as well

Allen slammed on ESPN
Phil The Thrill replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do realize that some of the play calls are designed giving his current development and game situations. The calls Sunday were somewhat conservative and Daboll admitted to that. When they tied the game up at 10-1 he said they went conservative to even up the score and to put the pressure back on Hodges. He felt confident about the defense’s ability to pressure him into mistakes and it worked! Also the 3rd down call that led to the Kroft TD was hardly conservative. If they were playing against a more effective offense they wouldn’t do this. But given the situation it made sense
