  1. Yep I noticed that. Lamar was under pressure bad and chucked the ball just to get rid of it. If that was Allen, genius faux analysts like Chi-En Fahey and Bill Barnwell would be RT’ing that play
  2. Defensively they are both close. Pittsburgh is worse on offense He’ll get another season that’s for sure. After that.... who knows? By then Beane and McDermott will likely get their second contracts, so you might see them change course if he doesn’t improve. I understand why people are frustrated with Allen but he has had these games before and he had shown good resiliency
  3. Who cares? You’re splitting hairs here. Is 146 yards passing much worse than Watson’s 165?
  4. Did he really get outplayed by Lamar though? Maybe if you consider that Lamar found the endzone 3 times whereas Allen could only lead the offense to FG’s for most of the game. Other than that, it appeared that both struggled versus good defenses
  5. This is something they will work on in practice no doubt. Defense sending the house and beating Cover 0 coverage. What might work in Allen’s favor is that Pittsburgh plays a lot of zone, whereas NE and BAL play man-to-man because their CB’s are strong. You might not be dejected but there were several emotions responses on Bills Twitter. They boiled down to: ”Josh Allen sucks” ”Josh Allen doesn’t suck, but his OL and WR’s do” ”Brian Daboll sucks and needs to be fired.” All of these are severe overreactions after a bad performance to a defensive secondary that is very good
  6. He was running for his life, but on a few of those situations, he didn’t need to be. The right move was to hang in the pocket and to step up. If the Ravens blitz and play Cover 0, that means one man is coming unlocked. Josh needs to recognize where the pressure is coming from and make them pay. Yea it was a bad OL performance but I think Allen was a bigger letdown. Regardless, I think the fan base can’t base everything on this one game. Baltimore has been really good vs opposing QB’s
  7. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not making any excuses for Allen. I would agree that he needs to play much better to handle blitzing , and more accurate. But you have to consider that this was a very good defense who has been making more established QB’s struggle in comparison. I do think that Baltimore’s defense is really good and is a little underrated. Their offense on the other hand is a little overrated IMO
  8. Like many, I was really disappointed by a bad performance by Josh Allen. I also was very annoyed to find many excuses to mask what was clearly a below average QB performance. But here is the thing, Baltimore’s defense has been playing really well this season - specifically their pass defense. While the offenses has been hyped to epic proportions by the media, the defense flies slightly under the radar. Not unlike Buffalo, their secondary is very good. In Baltimore’s 9 game win streak here is how opposing QB’s performed vs Baltimore: Andy Dalton 21/39 239 yards 0 TD/1 INT Loss 23-17 Russell Wilson 20/41 241 yards 1 TD/1 INT LOSS 30-16 Tom Brady 30-46 285 yards 1 TD/1 INT LOSS 37-20 Ryan Finley 16-31 167 yards. 1 TD/1 INT LOSS 49-13 Deshaun Watson 18-29 169 yards. 0 TD/1 INT LOSS 41-7 Jared Goff 26-37 212 yards 0 TD/2 INT LOSS 45-6 Jimmy Garoppolo 15-21 165 yards 1 TD/1 INT Loss 20-17 Josh Allen 17-39 146 1 TD/0 INT Loss 24-17 So again, I’m not going to give Allen a pass. He was below average and an average QB performance probably wins this football game. Of course their were protection issues and dropped passes but we need to see more from Josh - especially on those deep passes that he can’t connect. But outside of Wilson and Brady (2 HOF QB’s), I’m not sure that any of the other QB performances vs. the Ravens wins this football game. Opposing QB’s have not really put up many yards against the secondary, including several “good” offenses who had opportunities to get garbage time yards. In fact, Allen’s bad performance is close to how poorly other QB’s have performed - really bad! So It’s quite possible that Sunday’s game was simply Allen struggling against a well-coaches, aggressive defense, with 2 very good corners. It was frustrating to see our “franchise QB” play so poorly, but I also don’t think one game is enough of a sample size to overreact.
  9. “Key drops and poor pass protection hurt us”..... as did really bad play from the QB. Funny how that last part was left out Right but smaller receivers can get open vertically. Josh needs to give them a better chance to make a long catch. This was the difference in the game IMO
  10. This is not true.... 1 win and the Bills are in I know what I would say “If you can’t win 1 of the next 3 games, you don’t deserve to be in the playoffs!”
  11. Carolina - Done Washington - Done NYG - no I think Shurmur gets 1 more year Dallas - guaranteed Atlanta - yes Detroit - no Chicago - no NYJ - no Cin - no Cleveland - yes Jacksonville - guaranteed LAC - no Denver - no Interesting....
  12. Patricia has somewhat of an excuse for this season with injuries - and losing Stafford. I think he gets one more shot.
  13. I’ll agree to an extent. There wasn’t anything that blew me away. They blitzed a lot and the Bills and Josh Allen had no answer. A better offense and QB can beat the blitz and make them pay
  14. Not really.... The Bills held Baltimore well below average in yearly every offensive statistic over the past 9 games. No other defense has been able to do that. If you don’t think defensive coordinators will be studying this game film, you’re crazy. They played better than any defense has in weeks
  15. This is exactly what I said earlier this week. The majority of his completions come under 20 yards. If you can shut down the run, you have an excellent chance at winning. Which the Bills did. The offense let this team down big time
  16. It was sarcasm. I wasn’t blown away with his game today
  17. I’ll expand... Lamar scores 2 TD’s in the redzone. Josh scored 1. That was a difference. Lamar was better in the redzone
  18. You are spot on. The Bills defense did something that no teams have down over the past 9 games or so. They showed how you play Lamar and the Baltimore offense. To his credit - he was great in the redzone. But outside of the 1 busted coverage TD, he didn’t so much to impress. 150 yards passing is hardly MVP level. Teams are going to watch this tape and defend Lamar the same way. Baltimore better hope Belichick doesn’t get a second crack
  19. I mean yeah....he threw for 300+ too didn’t he?
  20. This was my takeaway as well. The Bills are “playoff caliber” but not “super Bowl caiber”
  21. He didn’t have a great today, like most of the offense
  22. not by me. I think we can agree that Marv & co were outcoached
  23. It is surprising how bad Kirby Jackson and JD Williams were in coverage. Those two gave up a lot of big gains Yep I’ve said that before. Jeff Wright was a weakspot on the defense. He was too small to play NT, and many times the Bills got gashed right up the middle.
  24. Jim Kelly has a great Josh Allen impersonation. He tucked the ball and ran up the middle for 20 yards, only to fumble after being tackled from behind ???
  25. Exactly why there were many level-headed fans on this board that were against the Bills allocating that much cap space to a RB like Bell, when you could just as easily find a productive player in the 3rd Rd of the draft
