  1. Depends on how the phrase “integrity of the league” is interpreted, imho. It could also encompass the financial wherewithal of the league for example, which between sponsorships/fan attendance being affected goes to the heart of what Goodell gets paid to protect the shield from—the owners’ bottom line is paramount. Also, as Hap pointed out, “values” as dictated by the NFL is about as nebulous as it gets. Terrible bargaining at the time by the NFLPA.
  2. I see you WEO! Post of the day I’m sure he’s qualified to “cast the first stone,” as it were.
  3. Now we know what happened to the infamous “Wrong Josh” account . Well played. In other news, Allen has the respect and following of his teammates in that locker room earned on/off the field since he got here, so there’s that. I doubt Tre for example, would silently put up with him if he’s a racist, but you go ahead and feel free to share your own narrative on this.
  4. So the leaker is “feeling it” now but didn’t back in March, 2019...got it. She should’ve called it out at the time if her motives are on the up and up?
  5. I think it’s important to consider Jake’s character overall in the context of what we know of him, other than one text viewed in isolation/out of context? Just saying there’s a big difference between an inappropriate one-off sorry excuse for what may have been a joke, versus having a catalogue of troubling incidents that show the measure of a racist flawed worldview, imho. Of course, it’s possible that this is in fact par for the course for Jake, but as it’s just as possible that it’s not, I won’t tar and feather him permanently just yet until knowing more. I can say as a GA resident for a number of years, I haven’t ever heard something like this before about him in the local press, fwiw.
  6. I normally agree with a lot of Peter King's takes, but he's flat wrong about the value of assets for the Diggs trade, as well as this ranking, imho. That said, IIRC, when he was interviewed shortly after his initial post-FA reviews by OBD, he admitted that the relative steal by the Cards from the Texans for Hopkins perhaps didn't help as to his opinion of the price paid by the Bills subsequently for Diggs--who knows. But we are about to earn front-runner status on the field, I have no doubt of that.
  7. Great post OP! Now we need a comparison thread for what Rex’s typical day/approach looked like as Bills coach, for contrast...
  8. And yet it’s precisely the QB’s on a carousel who get paid as the most at the time their K’s are up, “becoming king for a day” (see below) almost without regard as to whether or not they’re actually worthy of the title, so I hope Josh actually will be worth it at that time. I’m optimistic he’s well on his way. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2019/1/2/18164980/nfl-playoffs-quarterbacks-salary-cap-kirk-cousins-patrick-mahomes https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/04/16/quarterback-market-has-exploded-in-less-than-two-years/amp/
  9. Quick, start a segment to poll the callers as to favorite covid-themed fantasy football team names?
  10. Shawne Merriman. Oh wait, I thought you meant favorite always-injured-underperformers-courtesy-of-Buddy Nix?
  11. Definitely the one that got away, where we snatched defeat from the jaws of Super Bowl glory...however, still proud of our 90’s run, talk about a team that refused to quit and stay down on the mat—not even the mighty Pats dynasty ever matched 4 AFC titles in a row. Oh, and I don’t think that [insert name of your fav Bills QB here] ever had this happen to him on a golf course :
  12. But he was the last Bill on the field to contribute ‘another’ reason, and most visible. Had he made the kick, the narrative would’ve turned to the Bills did just enough when it mattered, in all 3 phases of the game.
  13. The thought crossed my mind lol, although maybe we have smarter players on par?
  14. The thing is, I would be more in your camp if it were a true statement that Josh hasn’t been showing consistent improvement over the average course of his starts—and I think it’s safe to say that on balance he continues to improve overall. That is why an arbitrary number of 3 doesn’t hold water for me in Josh’s situation. Those who would either flame out or stay where they are by definition couldn’t be showing consistent improvement, right? It’s a simple exercise in logic, imho.
  15. Take it back! Tweedledee and Tweedledum will pedal right over there to set you straight!
  16. Definitely lights out for Ventura College!
  17. ^^^^This. The low probability only serves to heighten the drama/elation when it does work.
  18. Who here really thinks the new combo will be worse than the afternoon insufferability of Schopp & the Bulldog? I will go on record as an out-of-towner saying I will miss the current OBL show, but will give Brown and Glab a chance (I think we will get manifestly deeper day to day Bills content from the insider Brown as added benefit), as they deserve at least that in this new forum. But if I had to replace Murph, I prolly would've moved Sal over to anchor the time slot with Brown or Tasker, imho.
  19. Good thing we've got that covered then! That would be this guy who'll be throwing the ball to him for years to come.
  20. No worries, the “girdling” effect of a Federation standard issue uniform belt keeps it all ship shape!
  21. I've noticed this as well, it reminds me to a lesser extent of how Ditka puts together his choppy and half complete sentences. I don't mean this negatively FWIW--and I also agree that he has good perspectives along the way.
