I guess regular mortals like us have a hard time understanding why someone good enough to be drafted by an NFL team (even in the 7th round) would toss it away before they've even started, but I guess if the passion isn't there or you have worries about potential brain issues down the line, or whatever it might be, then you're not going to have any hope of being even half the player you hope to be. Some guys probably try and stick with it just to make some money, but I kind of admire the ones who say "this just isn't for me" and go off to do something else. It must be a tough decision.

I feel very different about this news to how I felt the day we extended Dick Jauron. This is like thinking you're nearly out of spending money for your vacation and then finding roll of 20s in your back pocket. Jauron was like thinking you're finally over the flu and then finding out you have AIDS. So glad to get him signed up, one less thing to worry about. Now let's get a contract under Beane's nose

How messed up will the 2021 draft be?
RobbRiddick replied to billsfan714's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even this year, I think Beane was so smart for trading away the first for Diggs -
Would you prefer to make the playoffs or get the #1 pick?

I thought this was a strange question. Then I saw it was asked by a Jets fan and it all made sense. -

Possibly my favorite moment from all of last season. -
Tom Brady said learning new playbook is tough

I don't see him looking like a sixth rounder but I'd settle with him being ordinary, pretty much how he looked most of last year. -
It's funny. When I was a kid Marv Levy was old. Now I'm old, and he's still old. That started out as such a great game. Tasker's blocked punt, Thurman's TD, the big gain by Reed to take them down near the goal line. Such a shame they couldn't punch it in. Then the Cowboys scored those two TDs right at the end of the half and it just killed the game. The turnovers just wrecked the Bills in the last 3 super bowls.

Star Lotulelei opting out for 2020
RobbRiddick replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every time I read his name in an article or tweet I think "why do they keep calling him a star? There's no way he's a ***** star at DT!" then I remember it's his name. As to the news, I'm not too concerned with Harry coming back and the additional help they brought in via free agency to go with Oliver -
So if a guy opts out then he essentially is dropping out of the whole season? A player couldn't say "I choose not to come to camp because I'm afraid of catching Covid", then turn up a week before the season and say he'd like to play? I haven't followed this at all so I'm unsure of how it all works.

Something REALLY long, just to piss off the game announcers each week. "Hey NFL fans, welcome to Home Of The 12th Man AKA The Best Fans in the Universe (Not Just The NFL) Who Really Love Eating Wings While Hating The Patriots in Equal Measure And Man Didn't Those Four Super Bowl Losses Suck, Oh Well There's Always This Year So Long As Josh Plays Like We Know He's Capable Stadium! Here's the kickoff... huh? It's the end of the first quarter already?"

It's a smart move (which I'm surprised to say considering the franchise) in the sense that a) it gives them more time to throw names around and b) they can see if the fans adopt a certain name during the year. The way things spread on social media, it's quite possible they could have a new unofficial name by season's end (that's if there is a season) and they could always adopt that for good (provided it's not something stupid like The Trumps...)

NFL will allow social justice decals on helmets

Decals? Pah! If they really cared they'd get it tattooed on themselves -
Patrick Mahomes challenges Josh Allen to a throw off
RobbRiddick replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That will be better - the previous 2 Super Bowl MVPs going head-to-head in a throw off -
If things got crazy and they did go after it, I say just call the team Buffalo. No nickname at all. As someone else said, the Bills part makes no sense and has nothing to do with the logo and other branding. The name Buffalo is so badass as a place name anyway, and the logo is great as well. So I'd be more than happy with just Buffalo
