I watched it again on replay. There's no way Yeldon gets there even if he's in a dead sprint which he wasn't. Bad football all around but that one is mostly on Josh IMO.
So I re-watched it and Yeldon comes to a full stop before the ball is released then starts jogging across the field and doesn't get more than two or three steps before the ball is there. No way he catches that even if he sprints. That ball is getting picked either way. It was either a bad decision or horribly inaccurate or both.
Even if he did stop it was still an ill advised throw and it led to seven points. Titans had multiple defenders in the area. It's also unclear whether he was throwing to Yeldon or Beasley.
CBS halftime guys are all drooling over our defense. We stop the HOF traditional passers. We stop the mobile threats. Is this D better than prime Takeo Spikes, London Fletcher, Pat WIlliams, et. al? Might have to make a thread and poll it.
Jordan Phillips is a monster.
Edit: have to give credit to Shaq Lawson too. He beat the double team and blew up the play which forced Mariota right into Phillips.
So far I've commented on Singletary, the Titans' improved team, our good luck on that BS holding call to start the game..so yes.
I also comment when I see people incorrectly diagnose a play. That happens most frequently with Josh because so many posters try to blame his mistakes on other parts of the offense.
That sack is 100% on Josh. He fails to read the blitz and adjust, and then misses Beasley on the hot route. That can't happen and is a perfect example of what a bunch of us were saying in that thread about our Oline Next Gen stats. Even the announcers picked up on it.
Based on their start to the season I think you can say the same about the Titans. These look like two evenly matched teams to me. Should be a good one.
