Offense needs to just play fast and loose for 60 minutes Defense needs to take chances and be willing to get beat on a long play vs allowing teams to slowly bleed them out Doubt we see it Not in McDermott's dna to not play timid in the big moments

If takes an old vet role player to get this team going then so be it

He's washed. What I find ironic is they often stated they were building for the long haul via draft yet broke the bank for old pass rusher in almost a desperation move. Yet they wont go out and get another playmaker for the offense. Epenesa, Boogie, Groot and Ed Oliver plus the Von Miller $$ all to address pass rush and it still sucks Meanwhile on offense their big move last year was bring back Beasley and John Brown in desperation. This year were excited to get what feels like the entire washed up rb core of the NFL

Beane and McDermott would have been long gone if they didnt draft Josh Allen

Exactly the Bills should have been playing to gamble/force turnovers on defense NO dying by death of a thousand cuts while they qb stews in his juices letting the anxiety build up Josh looks miserable sitting on that bench watching this defense yielding yardage hoping for a penalty or a screwup by the other offense

Mahomes has also struggled mightily with no special target other than kelce who clearly is getting older . Chiefs still have a running game a screen game and good defense to save his bacon Burrow has three very good wideouts and a running game Both have offense minded coaches. Flip the qbs around Would Mahomes or Burrow have equal or greater success on the Bills? Josh has no shot at MVP Team isnt winning

they kept Dorsey on to run what McDermott is comfortable with will not put his fragile defense into trouble Not sure what exactly Sean is thinking If you dont want Josh doing too much then expend some resources so you can run a full offense Bills cant run , for sure have no short yardage run game without using Allen as a battering ram Cant run screens. defense cant get off the field on third and long Their play style is to eventually get you into a 3rd and long but no longer have the capability of getting a stop Bend dont break doesn't work if you just keep backpedaling and giving up green grass D line has disappeared Guess Jones was a huge factor Used to be 3rd and long ended with a pass underneath and rally tackle for a stop Think offenses have figured out McDermott He's still running the same scheme he found success with but now its 7 years later and its been analyzed and figured out One thing I notice is there are always guys open underneath 6 to 8 yards downfield Maybe get some dbs who can run, there is zero speed in this secondary

Harty and Sherfield have produced virtually nothing unless you are stoked about 7 yds per catch Shorter is a big target with upside who never reached potential in college Talent is there Don't think we need more undersized guys without any special attributes and Sherfield is the definition of a camp body Nice story but yet to see one special play from him in the regular season They whiffed on Harty period

i know Mcdermott wont do it but I'd give Shorter some reps when hes off IR

Gabe's doesnt run the full route tree and lacks speed to be a take the top off wr He cant win consistently early in the route Nice #3 wr but you need a more polished/and or explosive guy as your #2 For where he was drafted he's a nice player and probably a good dude

lets be honest if they didnt draft Allen Beane and McDermott would be jobless

Defense sucks especially considering all the draft and cap money spend Injuries aside when it comes to crunch time they cant get off the field No difference makers on this unit Only one is Milano and he's out. 1st round pick corner cant even get on the field Two free splash free agent signing later and the edge guys still cant change games

We can be a mediocre team that cant quite get over the hump despite the first franchise qb in 20+ years or sack up and go for the brass ring McDermott is not going to get us a Super Bowl There will always be excuses/injuries Heck he cant figure out what is wrong right now That's fair but how much is Beane complying with how/what McDermott wants? Regardless the roster is weak lacking true difference makers and getting old
