Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators
HamptonBillsfan replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Loved Madden, but you're probably too young to remember Paul Christman and Paul McGuire. They were really good. -
Questions Surrounding a New Stadium in OP .
HamptonBillsfan replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess, being the outdoorsman survivalist type of guy, you enjoy single digit temps with 40mph gusts . Those of us with a preference for more moderate conditions, might opt in favor of watching from home. BTW, woman and kids usually favor perfect conditions. -
Referee Tony Corrente corrupt as *****!!!
HamptonBillsfan replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
This corrupt 70 year old jerk has used the NFL games as his personal vehicle to exact revenge on his critics. The union has insulated this menace from suspension or forced retirement. If anything can turn NFL obsessed viewers away from the game, it's power hungry officials that change outcomes because of vendettas against a player. -
Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators
HamptonBillsfan replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not saying these color guys appeal to everybody, but the game is such an incredible TV friendly product, coupled with a conduit for gambling activities, that it just doesn't matter unless someone alienates a portion of the market with some inflammatory comments. -
Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators
HamptonBillsfan replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Football's ratings are through the roof. They dwarf any other sport or entertainment content. The color guys are former players and coaches for a good reason. They provide on field experience that viewers enjoy. The networks, who pay a fortune for the rights, have a time tested formula for picking analysts. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. -
Questions Surrounding a New Stadium in OP .
HamptonBillsfan replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering it took 50 big ones to get a new stadium, the difference is not enough to be a deal breaker. I can't believe that between local Canadian corporate interests and other cities in NY state, Suites wouldn't be desirable if the Bills dominated the AFC. -

I stand corrected, how about something like those. -
Questions Surrounding a New Stadium in OP .
HamptonBillsfan replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just curious, did government decision makers poll Buffalo and Suburban residents as to their preference regarding a dome. This is small market thinking at its best. Deny western NY a new stadium for decades opting in favor of refurbishment, and then go cheap in the most horrific weather location in the country. Did they consider the corporate preferences considering their boxes will represent a good % of revenue. This team, with an elite QB, and great receivers, along with a defense with speed would benefit from perfect conditions. Fans would flock to a state of the art, ultramodern retractable roof stadium. Speaking for myself, coming from LI, I would make a family tradition out of seeing a high leverage Dec game or playoff, an annual. -
Bills have underperformed this year by 2+ wins
HamptonBillsfan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Motor looked timid and soft for most of the season until Tampa. He was not part of the offense. All I'm saying is that now ,in the elements, with the O-line playing better, we can judge Moss as the run will be featured. -
Bills have underperformed this year by 2+ wins
HamptonBillsfan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why is there condemnation of 2nd year rbs, when the O-line was inept. Motor couldn't do anything for most of the season. Dabol didn't call running plays for entire halves of games(Tampa), yet you inexplicably want to play a guy who they cut a week ago and who hasn't played this year, instead of Moss. If you taped the Atlanta game, Moss ran well with the few carries he had. He ran better against Carolina as well. The O-line is playing better with different blocking schemes, and Motor ran wild for 120. -
Bills have underperformed this year by 2+ wins
HamptonBillsfan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills are ascending at seasons end. They have learned that Josh cannot be expected to be our entire running attack and win games by himself. The O-line is opening holes and Motor and Moss are running with authority. The games they lost (Tampa, Tenn, NE) were winnable, but we lost all of them, which means we weren't good enough. Now our season starts. Remember, the Bucs got it going in Dec. last year and won it all. -
What are your thoughts on Ed Oliver?
HamptonBillsfan replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
The fact that he dressed for 10 doesn't mean he contributed to anything good. He sucked up a roster spot and when we needed him most, he was nowhere. Sympathy for any personal problems aside, we need committed, balls to the wall grinders, if we expect to advance to the SB. Oliver and Harry, play hurt and keep on coming. They will lead us into the playoffs. -
Chiefs will be walking into a buzzsaw by playing LA. The Chargers should have beaten them twice and matchup better than any team in the AFC against them. We will end up with Indy.

Burrow NOT playing Sunday - per Burrow
HamptonBillsfan replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed, but they should be careful what they wish for. Patriots strength is their dbs and front getting pressure. This could neutralize Joe's vertical attack. Also NE will run against Cincinnati at will. -
Burrow NOT playing Sunday - per Burrow
HamptonBillsfan replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sounds like Joe's knee is not a small thing. It makes playing Indy a likelihood. That is a better matchup for us. Stephenson, now playing makes NE much tougher to defend. -
Career-worst single-game passer rating
HamptonBillsfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
That performance was a huge positive for the team. First, Josh will learn from trying to fit throws into tight windows, jeopardizing points in scoring territory. Secondly,it got Dabol to lean on a running game that now will make teams defend and in turn open things up for downfield opportunities as we head into the playoffs. Finally, the defense rose up after the turnovers, and shut down the Falcons without letting them score. Great confidence builder. -
The Browns have to move on from Baker, sooner than later. The fan base has turned on him and he has started to feel like a victim. His arm strength and accuracy has come into question. Lamar, should come back next year on the 5th year option and play like he did before he stumbled this season, and get paid. He's their best option going forward.
-
Raiders, won't beat LA so their probably not coming. The Patriots are dangerous even though we beat them in Foxboro. They will be better with Stephenson and depending on the conditions, we will hopefully be able to lean on a passing attack advantage. Bellicek scares me when he has 2 meetings to look at in preparation. Our best bet, is probably Indy. They won't be able to dominate us on the ground again We will be better offensively.
-
This tiny returner will be a problem for us, especially in frigid, wet conditions. His aggressive nature, running everything back is a turnover waiting to happen in plus territory for coverage units. Please opt in favor of McKenzie or Hyde for safety.
-
Josh's first instinct is to throw into tight windows with his incredible arm talent. Tips and deflections cause the high rate of turnovers in these bad weather games, but the good news is that Motor and Moss are running hard and holes are being opened. Now Dabol will scale back on empty set passing dominating the attack. With teams having to play the run, Josh will have more open throws. If we can win the turnover battle, I like our chances especially in decent weather venues.

Can we finally put the need for a dome stadium to rest?
HamptonBillsfan replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
A dome is not a desperate need, but it is the best case scenario for our team, the way it's constructed. The fan base deserves a retractable roof to have open air games unless it's frigid temps with harsh precipitation. Why shouldn't we get one? The difference in cost will be made up by all the revenue generated by all the postseason games held there. -
Brandon Beane mid round picks looking great
HamptonBillsfan replied to Ben's topic in The Stadium Wall
These picks have been instrumental in getting us in position to take our division. Beane excels in late round picks and these players you referenced, are getting better each year. Our future depends on Beane improving the O-line and getting depth at corner and RB -
It's been obvious for the last couple years. Without a consistent run game, other than our franchise QB exposing himself, we are dependent on Josh being clean and and accurate in tough conditions. A tip,a windblown pick and we could lose to a heavy run, less talented team. With perfect conditions, we're top 3 in the leagues
