  1. I wonder how long it will take Beane to make a move to improve our defense or receiver corps. If he stands pat you would think he has Terry under the heavy anesthesia. With the new stadium coming Beane may feel he’s safe to stand pat figuring Josh will find a way to the playoffs.
  2. That’s the problem with a Defensive coach as a Head Coach, he has little input in offensive game planning and play calling. Brady is showing his inability to maximize Josh’s ability and exploit defenses. It seems in the new NFL, defensive minded coaches are at a disadvantage against the Reid’s, McVays, Shanahans, O’Connells, Payton’s etc. That doesn’t mean great OCs can’t overcome their Head Coaches, but when injuries and roster deficiencies present themselves, you get games like Monday night.
  3. Reflect on this, Beane has watched the same games as we have and he sees the same ineptitude. Now if he stands pat and doesn’t make any meaningful changes (replacing Babich, acquiring secondary help, acquiring a receiver that gets separation, cutting or trading oft injured or unproductive players opening up roster spots) we know he’s not the guy to win with. His drafts are terrible, he’s constantly in cap hell with no real impact player other than Josh and Cook, and he’s hitched his wagon to a defensive minded coach that is presiding over a stale offense that is not capitalizing on Josh’s strengths. We have beaten only teams with losing records and against an inferior Atlanta team, we were worked. We need a GM that’s proactive or we’re not getting over the hump.
  4. I agree overreaction is the constant on message boards. The problem is we have a profound talent shortage on the roster and if you want to delude yourself into thinking Josh can overcome that and pull wins out of his rear end against playoff quality teams consistently, you’d fall into the category of a homer with his head in the sand. Our players are out of position defending good receivers( Diggs,London), pushed around by O-lines in the run game and then missing tackles and on offense receivers unable to separate. Josh is starting to get hit hard looking for 3rd and 4th options against extra rushers looking to take his head off. Factor in draft choices and veterans who should not be here always hurt and unavailable and you’re left with Sean saying wholesale changes are necessary. Doesn’t give optimists much confidence.
  5. The most concerning part of the ugly performance against Atlanta is that Josh looked flustered and beaten. Why can’t Brady design plays where Cook is isolated on LBs or safeties.? After coming out and driving with Cook running at will in the 3rd quarter, why give up on the run game? Throwing to a well covered Coleman on 3rd down is silly. This guy gets no separation. Josh ran into a prepared D-line with spies throughout the night. What happened to Knox after the first drive? He’s justThis was Brady unable to adjust to a defense that took Shakir away. He’s got to look in the mirror and reevaluate his play calling with his limited assets because that performance is going to get Josh injured and kill our season.
  6. It’s a bottom line business, either the O-line coaching or the drafting department is lacking.Becton in 2020, 1st rd flop, VeraTucker is good but never plays and Tippman and Fashunu can’t pass block or run block in the NFL. The Jets don’t do anything well.
  7. Just want say how much of an incredible mess the Jets are. Not only did they pin their hopes on Justin Fields( a QB in name only) but they refuse to provide him with an NFL O-line. I’m not sold on the Lions DC as a head coach. His decision making is amateurish and his choice for OC is an indication of how clueless he is. Living in Jetsland you see how much pain this team has inflicted on fans. It’s October 11 and the football season is over. I guess as a Bills fan we should thank the football gods for everything we take for granted.
  8. Basically we’re on the same page. They’ve been really close and all those untimely things happened against KC last year and in the 13 second game that could given us a SB. I think they could break through this season but unfortunately we’re probably going to have to win shootouts and that brings the refs and Sean’s game day decisions into play. You make a good point with the PED boys and improved play out of our established quality guys along with a healthy Oliver taking pressure off of the weak links in the secondary with more pressure and sacks .A trade at the deadline is also a possibility. I don’t like sounding too negative because I know what we’re capable of.
  9. Listen New Era, I like your posts and agree with most of your comments, but don’t fall into the same one dimensional mindset that plagues boards like this. Don’t be satisfied with getting to the AFC Championship. We have a generational talent at QB after 21/2 decades of mismanaged personnel decisions. Finally we’ve assembled an offensive group that is good enough to win our first championship. Sadly our management, with their constant complaints and excuses about cap limitations cannot complement the offense, instead assembling a defense that has inadequate depth and have kept players that should have been moved ( Milano, Jones, Epenesa, and Rousseau)making room for productive youth. Correct me if I’m wrong but those games against KC and Cinn were indicative of teams that couldn’t stop good offenses in big spots. We have not had D-lines that were able to rush the QB or a secondary that could cover. We can’t be happy to eschew acquiring a vertical threat at receiver in order to make 6 picks for corners and D-linemen with only 1 player getting on the field. This is 3 years that we have had zero defensive drafted players making any impact on the team. Josh and Cook with a solid O-line and decent possession receivers are good enough to win a lot of games but our defense as constructed will break our heart again. How many games like the last 3( Miami, NO, NE) against inferior teams can we watch our defense get pushed around.
  10. I can’t comment about an ongoing investigation. Thankfully we have devoted fans to support the suspect. You should invite over to meet your family.
  11. Thank you, your passive aggressive sarcasm could have been expressed more effectively with a vomit emoji. Appreciate the clarification.
  12. That’s right, there also was a burglary investigation on him.
  13. Alright, your instincts are righteous in supporting the kid while he recovers from a serious injury. I’m hoping he turns out to be a good player just like all fans, just frustrating that all the corners drafted can’t get on the field anytime soon.
  14. Just Google Hairston’s legal history. July 2nd ,Rape chargesi were filed along with harassment charges after she was forced to drop out of Kentucky.
  15. Like I said, we’re talking about this in the context of Hairston not being worth a precious 1st round pick. Trust professional people like defense attorneys? They think justice is getting people off and getting paid.I don’t need to know anything about the case, as a fan I didn’t like the pick in April before I knew Hairston’s legal history. He was slight, soft against the run and had one good season in 2023 and missed most of 2024. Factor in his legal troubles, he wasn’t worth the pick. You’re ignoring what the victim said and trusting the guys that told Beane to make the pick. They could be working on the staff of a division 2 college now. How many people do you think they interviewed? They said the girl didn’t bring charges, just draft him. He runs a 4.2 forty.
  16. Why are you minimizing a rape charge and burglary. If it was someone you knew would you be so cavalier? They opened up the rape investigation federally this year again . The original offense was in 2021. Rich athletes are able to bury this stuff.
  17. He’s slight, he’s brittle and he’s got character issues, which Sean and Beane used to care about. Contact me when he hits the field. Until then could we acquire someone to play next to Benford before the deadline.
  18. My point is that this guy is not good enough to warrant the 1st round selection. Maybe he will contribute in time but correct my if I’m wrong, a 1st round pick should help a team year one. He won’t hit the field until after the bye if at all.
  19. Unfortunately you’re missing the point. We’re talking about getting over the hurdle, winning it all in the Josh era. Dominating the Jets, Miami, NO should be a given. What defensive players in the last 3 drafts have made any impact? This year again, we went in knowing that we weren’t resigning Douglas and drafted 3 corners that either will not play or produce this season.Bishop has been a disappointment and the D-lineman drafted Tucker and Turner can’t get on the field. You sound like the public defenders department. The guy was investigated for rape and burglary. The fact that they didn’t bring a case is common with rape investigations. The victim goes through an ordeal of a trial especially when the accused is a big time athlete with resources. After not bringing a case in 2021, they reopened an investigation federally against him this year. Beane and every other GM were aware of multiple investigations. It’s your prerogative to defend Hairston if you wish, but with his shortcomings( one productive season 2023 at Kentucky, his reputation as soft against the run, not a willing tackler) and slight stature, makes you question why waste a 1st round pick on him.
  20. That passive aggressive sarcasm doesn’t make for a debate. Try listing who the Bills have beaten the last 3 seasons in the playoffs. Regular season doesn’t count when you have Josh and a good O-line. Let’s see, Tua, and the 3rd stringer Skyler Thompson for Miami, a washed up Rivers for Indy, who subsequently retired, Mason Rudolph led Pittsburgh team, Denver and their rookie QB, Mack Jones led Patriots and Lamar, who never wins a big game. Against KC and a Burrow led Bengals team, 0and 4. Bottom line the defense has let Josh, and our great fanbase down. Bad defensive drafts are big part of it.
  21. great objective analysis , thank you
  22. What do you like about the defensive drafts over the last 3 years as our defense continues to decline? Those other teams that you dismissed have top statistical defenses and 3 of them have won the last 4 SBs along with the Eagles who drafted defense really well. Can’t anyone criticize obvious shortcomings in the way we do business without fans going into denial mode?
  23. I don’t know what search you’re referring to but checking his college career clearly shows his 2023 season was his only productive year. 55 tackles, 13 games played. In 2024 he played only 7 games with just a few tackles. His 2022 season was also inconsequential with little production. Factor in his being investigated for criminal sexual assault and burglary makes you wonder how this franchise, with high standards of character found their way to this guy.
  24. Agreed, but it’s becoming painfully obvious that our secondary is a major need and we can’t seem to get it right.
  25. I met with some pushback when I criticized the 1st rd selection of Hairston from the standpoint of him being slight and not being a willing tackler. Now he looks like a question mark to recover in time to play this season in a meaningful way. Judging by our defensive drafts in recent years, Beane and the scouting department have to be questioned. Isn’t part of drafting knowing whether players have a history of being injury prone? Toughness and playing through injuries define good players in the NFL.Hairston, Strong, Hancock. Tucker, Turner, have all been unable to get on the field enough to contribute. Other than Rousseau, Bernard and Benford, who has cracked the lineup or made any positive impact in the last 5 years? Compare that to what the Rams, Chiefs, Packers or Texans have accomplished with their defensive drafts? The offensive side of the drafts is a different story but why have a defensive minded coach if his defensive drafts stink?
