Soda Popinski replied to Fadingpain's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just watched it last night, sunday I we were watching something else, but I always DVR. Ok so I guess now we know part of the story but I don't think that's the end all be all of it. Anti-Climatic really. And some of the scenes in this show....just....drag....on....FOREVER -
Really surprised not more talk about Harrison

McDermott said in his press conference yesterday he kind of shelved Phillips when Kyle got hurt as a precaution. Now I don't know if there is a greater complement McDermott could give than that, obviously he thinks enough of Phillips that he believes if Kyle goes down, Phillips is the guy, no development, no learning curve. Kind of how Kyle just kind of came in and started playing all those years ago. I don't think people are less excited, but Phillips didn't play much vs Cleveland, for good reason. -
He made Kolb a bunch of unearned money!

Allen hasn't hit one of those bombs and people are excited anyway. But again, as I previously stated and am now reiterating, I felt this way about Mahomes before he was drafted by anyone. It has nothing to do with Allen. I think it has more to do with Reid going all in on Mahomes and the repercussions jettisoning Alex Smith, a proven winner present.

Do posters at TBD enjoy getting in fights "sparring"?

I very much enjoy reading opposing opinions and then offering mine. It is always good to hear differing opinions to get another view. -
Do we have a SaviorMahomes scenario going on here?
-
They got rid of a QB who got them to the playoffs what, every single year he was in KC??? If Mahomes doesn't start looking decent, Reid will lose his job over this one.

I am saying what I believe. sorry that bothers you

i'm not hating mahmoes and your overreaction is hilarious and embarrassing my man. I did not like Mahomes coming out of college, air raid QBs very seldom have success in the NFL it's not the easiest transition and it seldom works out. This has absolutely zero to do with loving Allen so that's a stretch of a statement right there. If it makes you feel better, if we're going to play the hindsite game, Watson would have been a MUCH MUCH MUCHHHHHH better draft pick than Mahomes and I think he'll have a better career. So breathe, and chill. Too much triggering over nothing.

Why is nobody discussing the offensive line?
Soda Popinski replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'm far north of the red tide so we didn't have any effects up here but I can see them from friends posting , and Sanibel island used to be a paradise and now the most gorgeous beach in FL had bobcats loading up tons of dead fish that stunk to high heaven all over the place. It's sad it had to come to this to get wheels turning. -
Who wins more games? Bills or Browns?
Soda Popinski replied to Bfanlc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think with Taylor they win 7 games, and with Allen we win...7 games -
So my JP Losman suspicions are bearing fruit.

Why is nobody discussing the offensive line?

Well on a personal note, my son's varsity team won Friday night 49-14, the other team didn't have the size to match up, or the skill position players. We're not that good in reality. And Sunday someone showed up and bought my boat, which is a good thing because it no longer supported my needs and it was time to move on. Now my Sundays are freed up to watch Allen throw bombs to Coleman -

I do think that teams in the preseason are also tempering their defensive scheme knowing McCoy isn't going to get more than 2-5 touches a game as well. We get into the season and defenses will concentrate more on him, if they blindly rush the QB the way Greg Williams did last week, Daboll will throw a screen to McCoy and take it to the house. Our offense right now is more about getting Allen/Peterman/McCarron situational football and just moving the chains. Getting them in positions where they can be evaluated equally. Which was hard last week with the Oline being so bad. But I do think week 1 the offense we see will not look anything like what we're looking at now. Like the new model trucks you see on Car and Driver that are covered with black matting and boxes during testing. -

I think if they do name Allen the starter, which I think is right now pretty close to 50/50 then it will be on the OC Daboll and Line coach to work those protections and keep him clean. Probably move the pocket, keep a TE in more, and keep the FB in to pass protect as well. But they will have to alter their scheme a little to make up for the lack of pass protection. -
Mahomes vs Allen deep ball
Soda Popinski replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some of you younger guys don't remember JP Losman's arm. IMO Mahomes is a clone of him from a physical standpoint. And he's playing like JP played. Which is exactly what I thought he'd become in the NFL and I"m glad we didn't draft him. -

You have to be in a bad place to be on a ledge ready to jump, and the fact that a free 6 pack was enough to get him off the ledge is equally crazy. -

every time there is a bad block I look and see Vlad standing there watching his guy kill our QB/RB. This needs to stop. -
