That works if McKinney is good. But he has been a liability in coverage and is a pure run stuff LB. The danger is that they assume the position is covered and leave it at that then McKinney actually turns out to be what he has been for the last few years. There are good ILBs in the draft. Also, it assumes that A they can secure an FA upgrade at DE and B he lives up to his contract. If you keep bringing people in and dumping them it is hard to build a unit. I am predicting the Miami D regresses. JMO. I get your logic though and time will tell.

In a way I agree. Miami want sacks from the edge, but it begs the question why did they take Shaq in the first place? But if McKinney is done or they simply cut him for extra cap space, then they gave up a rotational DE for an older LB who is a liability in coverage and swapped their 7th for a 5th. Was that worth it to get a bit more space when you already have plenty of cap? Can they be sure they're getting sacks in FA?Perhaps no great loss either way but it reads to me like indecisiveness. The value is in the cheap, or even average deals where the guy has an unexpected season and can be flipped for a comp pick the following year. I would still have cut Butler. Hard to believe he was selected in the first round based on his play last year. He's lucky Washington and McDermott believe in him.

Trai Turners pro bowls are like Tremaine Edmund's pro bowls. He's good but I'm not quite sure how he kept getting in ahead of better players.

He's left footed which is unusual for a punter. It seemed to cause a number of misfields from returners. Injured all of last season.

Sorry I phrased it badly. He thinks 4 guys would be value picks at 30, those 3 and Paye. However, he thinks all of them would be bad fits on the Bills, except Paye who is basically out of the Bills reach. I wouldn't say that I completely agree but it's a perspective. I think you just never know. TJ Watt, and Cam Jordan are examples of late 1st rounders who are premier edges now. I know that everyone wants a 'safe' pick but there is more uncertainty than ever in this year of limited college games.

The only 1 techs that I know of are Tyler Shelvin LSU and Alim McNeil NC. McNeil has had the more impressive past season (for what that's worth). Both would be excellent 3rd round picks, and could replace Star. But, Star will be the main guy this year so it's not going to be a difference making pick this year. It's a question of how you use money in a tight-cap year. If Milano is gone you must get a new LB. I think you also need to select a player who can counteract KC, specifically Kelce. A Jeremy Chinn matchup type. We need a new swing tackle and it's a great draft for that. You have to stay open to taking an edge. Those are both premium value positions which are needs. I think 1T may fall by the wayside as a priority.

I know this guy has a lot of fans and it's a great comeback story if that's your thing. But I just don't get why a guy who had such a significant injury, who has made that much money, and who has a young family could think that playing on is a sensible decision. He's not going to win a superbowl because he isn't good enough. I know that he has a great reputation as a mentor, but really? His comments seem really driven by ego and self-centered. I just don't get it. Most of all I hope he doesn't get badly hurt because he can't walk away.

Not that it matters, but Samuel wasn't a great pick for the Panthers.They traded up to get him, taking him ahead of JuJu, Courtland Sutton and Godwin. He was injured a fair bit in his first two years, ran lousy routes and dropped some big plays. None of this should be a surprise, he was a rb at Ohio, asked to play as a slot for an inaccurate QB. This season was his best as a result of his learning curve and Joe Brady scheming YAC opportunities for him. Hopefully he goes to a team that uses his skillset wisely.

This is just my reading of it and I must confess that I feel some sympathy for Love which may affect my bias. He got picked by a team that had an HOF QB, had no training camp and is being labelled in some places and by some media reports as a bust which I find extremely unfair in this context. Goodness. I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue.

I don't think you bring in Allen as a mentor. He is a good friend of Josh, is cheap, and has won NFL games (I think with KA as starter the Panthers were 5-2 at one point in 2019). If Josh goes down in the short term, Kyle can do a good job. But he won't Foles you to a SB win. He loses games with bad mistakes, but I watched him drive 80 yards in a snowstorm in the fourth quarter in Green Bay to the 1 yard line. On the final play as the clock expired CMC got stuffed, so naturally Allen got no credit for what he did.
