  1. Me too. I don't know why he would choose to start playing badly though. That makes no sense. On the other hand, we know that they changed their offense away from pass. We also know that he had taken a lot of hits at that point. It's too easy to lay the blame at his feet. I hope they deal him and answer the question for us.
  2. Woof. The Wilson defamation project. How can he be criticized for something Carroll did? Insanity.
  3. Absolutely fair. However, let's be truthful, all quarterbacks aren't given fabulous rosters and supportive coaching. Can we fairly judge Wilson against say Tom Brady? The Seahawks continue to be a perennial playoff team and they are not a good roster. It's because of Wilson. Messaging from coaching seems inconsistent about who they want to be and they went away from pure passing despite it being their strength. Wilson might be able to overcome an abysmal OLine or an abysmal/average defence but both? They still made the playoffs in a tough division. As for the coach? Any player can be criticized for a single play and maybe the coach is saying he outran his protection based on a play where he did that. But if it comes to that did he not make numerous incredible plays off the back of successful escapes from the pocket. It seems churlish to criticize him when he had been sacked so many times and conditioned to extend plays. That's blame laying. Wilson has been taking a pummeling and he's getting criticized for being skittish? Man I would want out of that too.
  4. Could it be 300lb men continually crashing into him and the relentless pressure to score 30 points in order for his team to even be in a game?
  5. I hated that Obi went to the raiders. He was all traits but needed a lot of work. Terrible landing spot. His brother may take a lesson from Obi's mistakes, but of course he can't control where he goes. We know that the NFL values traits so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets pushed up the board in a weak CB class. I actually think the Bills would be a good fit but #30 is a bit high for me.
  6. So this is an interesting article, projecting possible upcoming NFC cuts by Greg Rosenthal. https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfc-cut-candidates-viable-releases-and-potential-surprises The name that pops here, (especially if Watt goes elsewhere) is Chandler Jones. Definitely a guy that the Bills might want to take a look at.
  7. I completely agree with you. Listening to Ben Solak of the draft dudes (he covers the eagles), he said that Wentz thinks he can do more than he actually can and caused a lot of his own problems. A lot of that was due to his attitude. That said as you mentioned the guy that can fix him is Reich. One thing is for sure, if he does fail with his new supporting cast this upcoming year, and it's not impossible, he could be about done. I hope for him he can turn it round. I will always feel bad for him. He must feel like his big moment was taken from him in Philadelphia.
  8. I really like Harrison as rotational depth on a cheap deal. But, in no universe has he ever shown ability to rush the passer like Short. The gamble here is can Short be fit. But his floor is high if the price is right.
  9. Short was also 2nd team All Pro. Also injured prior to availability. Also a solid starter available on the cheap. So there is 5 years age difference but to offset that he would be in a line rotation backing up Oliver, not a guy who will play 100% of snaps at tackle. If he is a let down and costs say 2 mill, you still got a starter for a year and saved Butler and possibly Jefferson cap hit. For me, It's not about Short getting 11 sacks and being depended on.
  10. The problem is he hasn't been able to stay on the field. When he has, he has been a good starter-not a Fletcher Cox or Donald but still effective. It's understandable that Panthers fans are bitter, because of his enormous and wasted cap hit in the past 2 years. He was grossly overpaid and couldn't come close to value for his post SB extension. Obviously, the Bills can offer a top class facility and there is familiarity with McDermott and Washington as well as former teammates. Assuming he came cheap it makes sense. The value in getting him would obviously be in releasing Butler and Jefferson creating cap space elsewhere.
  11. Well Butler was never good. Short was once good. But it's totally fair to say he may have nothing left.
  12. He's been a total waste of space since he signed the extension in Carolina. I totally get why everyone on here immediately rejects him but hold your horses. He is already getting over 9 million from Carolina to not play for them. You could probably get him for close to vet minimum and cut Vernon Butler freeing up cap space. You're upgrading at 3T for less money and you wouldn't be depending on him because Oliver is the future. This could happen.
  13. This was a stupid and arrogant hire by Meyer. He tried to defend it and just two days later is walking it back. Not a good look for a new regime.
  14. https://www.si.com/nfl/raiders/the-black-hole-plus/rick-gosselin-nf-special-teams-bill-belichick-joe-judge-cameron-achord-scott-obrien 8th overall Kickoff returns 1st Punt returns 4th Kickoff coverage 3rd Opponent starting point 2nd Punting 1st Net Punting 5th I'm always curious to see how these rankings play out and the Bills and Heath Farwell deserve credit for marked improvement this year. For me it was the only phase that had success in the championship game though obviously there is scant consolation in that. The fake punt against NE is a feather in their cap too, especially considering NE's domianance in this phase again this year.
  15. Really surprised by how badly Mahomes played. I really thought he would be able to raise their level.
  16. I'm intrigued to see his market. It won't be 3 mil or 18 mil. I think someone will talk themselves into giving him 10.
  17. I don't doubt he was the best run blocking TE on show. But the run game wasn't exactly devastatingly successful....
  18. It's your first line that I disagree with, at least in part. At best Cam was an average passer, but combined with his running that was enough to make him MVP like Lamar. But the shoulder injury had made him a bad passer so that teams can key on the run. He once had a strong arm and a low 60% completion which was good enough to keep the D guessing. We also never got to see him behind a competent OL or with an elite WR who makes you look great. The sad thing is that he lied to Carolina coaches about his injury because he wanted to compete. Brave but stupid. He's done now. He should retire. Josh doesn't need to seek contact like Cam, but the designed runs are good to keep the D honest. In the playoffs when the Offense became one dimensional the Bills made it easier for the D.
  19. True but I don't like any of their boards. I find the drafttek site interesting because of their blurbs about fit from actual team fans, but perhaps due to the nature of the site first round players still drop to late rounds because the guys doing it 'forget' they are there. Thus the composite spits them out in weird places. Anyway it's fun. Im sort of glad I haven't paid for a feature that allows trades. I would spend my whole life doing mocks.
  20. Draft Network mock is preferable because you rarely find better players dropping. It gave me: R1 Alijah Vera- Tucker LT/G flex R2 Jackson Carman RT R3 Jabril Cox LB R5 Kylin Hill RB After that there wasn't a name which I recognized so I haven't included beyond R5. I like this draft because the first 3 are slated to be the biggest FA losses. Williams, Milano, Feliciano. Tucker in particular would-be an amazing fit since he plays LT and guard.
  21. The boards on the fanspeak mock always seem to be unrealistic. However this is what it gave me: R1 Micah Parsons R2 Pat Friermuth R3 Dillon Radunz R5 Daivyon Nixon, Jonathan Cooper R6 Amon-Ra St Brown R7 Pete Werner Awesome draft. Great value. Exceptionally unlikely.
  22. I wondered this. The cynic in me is saying that these guys getting free tickets is because they all come with the benefit of having been given the vaccine. Thus they can pad the attendance but not turn the event into a super spreader. Cunning. OT. I like to see names that aren't concensus pop up, they are supposed to be thought provoking rather than predictive exercises. However this seems like overdrafting for need.
  23. Roberts return yardage is impressive. Still hasn't broken one for a TD though. He's old, and Cordarelle Patterson is a free agent.
