I like the round 1 pick. I like Muma but not for the Bills in Rd2. I read a lot of stuff about Gordon but he had that terrible combine albeit working out with a sickness reportedly. I feel like the 5 cbs I like could be gone before the Bills pick. So although it’s a need I would wait until the third for Cam Taylor-Britt whom Joe Marino loves. He had good numbers. Then with the plethora of late picks take a guy like Kalon Barnes with his 4.25 speed as a late developmental flier.

OK. Why? You don't like the player? You don't want to give up the first rounder? You're convinced the 25th pick will get us a guaranteed starter on a rookie deal? I liked the Rousseau pick last year. But he struggled to make an impact for most of the year. If he comes through for us its great, but nothing is guaranteed through the draft.

You're right, he has a year left on his rookie deal. Honestly, I dislike the LA model. But including the cap relief from releasing Morse it makes a ton of sense to me. If paying him next year is a deal breaker what is a reasonable price for him? A 2nd?

There has been some talk about the future for the Bills at center. Morse had a good season and Is a reliable good quality player. The questions surrounding him are based on two factors. Firstly his motivation and willingness to continue in the context of his consussion history. If he is happy to stay the best outcome is surely to keep that continuity and welcome him back. The reason that Morse has been discussed so much is because he is low-hanging fruit when it comes to cap-savings. Over the Cap has him as an $8.5 million cap saving. The question here is not so much whether or not Morse is a player we want to keep as one of freeing up cap space and finding a quality young player at this key poistion. In the draft, both Tyler Linderbaum and Zion Johnson who demonstrated versatility at the senior bowl taking snaps at center, could be solutions but its equally possible that they are both gone when we pick. Its also not impossible that they could struggle in the step-up to the league. Bradberry is very good. He played in a division with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, peak Michael Thomas, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. He was always matched against their best guy. So in that context 'average' numbers are excellent. Was he drafted while McD was there? If not Beane certainly was. But the cap number would be a problem so I don't see it happening.

And it failed for at least 30 other teams this year. Some of whom will be suffering the consequences for some time to come. Even if they win the superbowl if the team has a sustained period of absolutely stinking as a consequence, is this the right way to run a franchise? If your answer is yes i would suggest to you that bathing in the reflected glory of a bought title mortgaged on the long term stability of your franchise makes you a bad fan.

The Chiefs strengthened through the draft. Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith were vital to their improvement. You are cherry picking. Besides they haven't won anything yet. The poster child for this strategy are the Rams. Stafford, Ramsey, Miller, Whitworth. Lets see if it works for them.

A worst case scenario is the Saints. 74 million over the cap. Brees retired . Payton knew it was a bad situation. So hes gone. They won't be competitive for 5-10 years. Only one team a season can 'win now".

I loved the way Josh kept stepping up again and again. He's the best QB in this league. The Bills will win a superbowl with him. I am confident of that. Today the team didn't deserve to win. The future still looks bright though.

I wouldn't be upset with mid-tier players. There are many examples of these players outdoing the big names. In the pff article i linked above they project Haason Reddick at Contract Projection: Three years, $35 million ($11.67M per year, $18 million total guaranteed). I also like Jamison Crowder at Contract Projection: One year, $4.5 million ($3.5 million total guaranteed) You would have Rousseau, Basham, Espenesa, Reddick.

Receiver is a great position to need in the draft. Some really good ones at the bottom of the 1st. I really like Calvin Austin III who is available at the bottom of the 3rd as a replacement for McKenzie. I get that people hate the idea of losing players who come through for the team-McKenzie, Wallace, Bates. But they are extraordinarily productive mid-tier players. If they get a chance at a pay day you have to be happy for them and find their replacement in the draft. Now if they don't have a market and take a below market deal? Well thats cool, but i think a bit like last year they will be allowed to test the market first. If the Bills make a deep run in the playoffs they may find some takers this time around. The guys you have to keep are the absolute cornerstones. So if you can pay Diggs and Knox, then have some money left over why not make a move in FA?

If Morse, Beasley and Klein are cut, their cap savings are 8.5, 6.1 and 5.2 mill. Lotuleiei would be another 4.1. Now ok these would then need to be replaced but if not this offseason it would surely happen next offseason. Would Morse and other vets be wanting to retire off a Superbowl? Perhaps Lotuleiei? Seems conceivable. If you're worried about comp picks I would say who will get that big contract to earn you a 3rd? Wallace, Bates, Phillips could likely all be picked up especially if they have good playoff runs. But those will probably garner 4th or 5th rounders at best. I could totally see Buffalo being a player in FA.

Is it correct to say that Josh only needs wins over Arizona, Philadelphia and Green Bay to have a win against every franchise (except the Bills)? That would be a cool achievement. Then we can start counting his playoff scalps. So far.... Indianapolis, Baltimore and New England. Chiefs would be a nice addition to this group.

Oh you were expecting them to be in the playoffs the year that they cleared the cap and were expected to finish with the #1 overall pick? Nice to see you have reasonable expectations. I hope you are ashamed of yourself when they make the playoffs. To say that they aren't transformed since McD came is insane. They have a franchise QB. Top 10 Offense and Defence. This year when they get to the playoffs it will be 4 of 5 years after a 17 year wait. Absolutely nothing transformative there.

You're talking i suppose about individual production? Because the defence and Offense are both top 10 units. Every team in the NFL that has a franchise QB (and some that don't) are tight to the cap especially after the freeze. I can agree that players like Trent Murphy and Vernon Butler have been hugely overpaid. So yes, loyalty and over investment in players who have let them down has happened. But again collectively the units are successful So perhaps the decision making deserves the benfit of the doubt? Meanwhile for the first time in a long time the Bills are holding on to their successful draft picks. Extending them. Fazing out older players. This is good roster management. Its not flashy (do we want to be like the Rams?) but teams like the Ravens have been doing it like this for years.

He will take responisibility. He always does for losses. But it cuts both ways. If you want to crucify him for every loss then does he deserve ALL the credit for every win? When the Bills win you don't see him talking himself up. He praises the players. That is good leadership. The D-line is overpaid for its output but it IS an intergral part of an elite overall unit across the NFL. I mean they aren't bottom third of the league here. Did you forget that Star and Tremaine didn't play in that Colts game? You're scapegoating and missing how this team has been transformed almost miraculously during the McD era. Because you're upset about one narrow loss.

McD has led the Bills to 3 playoffs in 4 years, A team that hadn't made the playoffs for 17 years. Every year he produces a top 10 defence despite a lack of elite individuals. They along with the patriots have a superior pass defence that many teams would kill for. McD has now beaten every team in the AFC except the Browns. In the NFC every team except the Panthers, Eagles and Cardinals. He and Beane have fixed a bad cap situation brought young players into the team and haven't sold their soul for a better chance at the superbowl like the Rams. Something that will likely hurt their roster for years to come. But he makes a bad challenge and you want to replace him without any suggested alternative plan? We lost a tight game to an in-form division rival in atrocious weather conditions which favoured their ultra-conservative style. That is all.

My trade would be Daryll Williams and Gabe Davis for Allen Robinson. The Bears are going nowhere and aren't set up to use him properly. What they could use is an OT and young WR. Of course Nagy and Pace wouldn't bite because their asses are on the line.

Don't let the loss bother you. The Bills are a good team. I trust them to learn lessons. Meanwhile the sun is shining and I'm having a bacon sandwich. I also think losses aren't crippling to this group, on the contrary it keeps them humble and hungry. Remember the Hail Murray

I agree about the excuses. However the last 3 times we have played the Titans and Chiefs they have ALL been away games. Wouldn't it be nice to occasionally not have to travel to our biggest rivals? As for the OL they have been excellent this season as a whole surrendering only 8 sacks. Red zone has seen regression from last year when we were the best. Predictable. They are hardly the worst and will get better. Overall they deserved to lose this game and I'm ok with it. I still think they will win a Superbowl this season.

So, what's a good loss? 1 They gave up 3 sacks. Our rookie playing only his 2nd start gave up a tough sack to a veteran player. You're spoiled if you think they were abysmal. 2 Agree that the DL had a bad day. Agree that one or both of Boogie AJ should have played. I think Jerry H is getting a bit of a free pass for past achievements. 3 secondary were excellent. You cross because the ball bounced off a helmet in a fluke or because of AJ Browns short crossers? That's not why they lost. Dont throw out the baby with the bathwater. 4 I didn't see the coaching as an issue last night. 5 Hard to blame Josh. His interception was caused by the pressure and Moss didn't react to help out. He scored 3TDs and threw for 350. Limp finish but it was one of those nights. 6 These Rbs are not special. They're merely made to look good in a great O. This isn't news to me. 7 That's an idiotic thing that fans say when they are buthurt at a loss. No basis in fact but you can read it on most fan forums Lame. Take the loss it's only a game. Titans played better. Good for them.
