  1. Six defensive starters out. Here's a fact I shouldn't have to explain...backup players are not as good as starters. So, when you have backups playing the D isn't going to play as well. Shocking, I know. If I hand you the box of straws will you stop grasping at them?
  2. I think losing Milano after Tre was backbreaking for our D, which hurts. Allen did not play hero-ball yesterday, even when I'm sure he was sorely tempted. Let's not overlook that. Honestly, my only concerns is Davis is a WR3, not a WR2. They need to add one. The biggest concern, honestly, is Dorsey. He's just not looking up to task. When his plan works, it works, but he is strugging at making adjustments. He is also trying to force players into his scheme instead of molding his scheme for his players. I think Dorsey is holding a potentially elite offense down, and injuries may well do in our defense. Which is a shame because I believe we're close.
  3. You can't handwave injuries away, and the time of possession was skewed bad b/c a perfectly healthy offense couldn't move the ball. A patchwork D missing two of their best players generated two turnovers in the red zone and kept the Bills in that game. The Bills D were an elite unit all season. Tre goes down late last week, Milano early this week and all of a sudden the team has a harder time getting the other team off the field? It's...*gasp*...almost like losing five defensive player actually makes a defense worse ! Anyone that argues otherwise...don't bother debating them. They'd have to be incredibly dim not to see it, or they're willfully ignorant, locked into confirmation bias. Either way, you're not going to change their mind.
  4. Davis makes big plays, and also makes critical drops. Been his M.O. for years now. Both happened today. Gabe makes for a great WR3, but you need more reliability out of a WR2. Gabe does not suck, and did not suck today. However, he still had a painful drop on an easy pass that killed a critical drive. That's a fact, not an opinion, and I'm tired of people trying to give him a pass on his drops just b/c of the good he does otherwise.
  5. Agreed. Still doesn't change the fact the Jags had more then a full week to acclimate. It's just an unfair advantage, with an easy fix. Do not let a team play two international games in a row. Never said that was the only reason they lost, but you cannot deny it was most definitely a factor.
  6. First, Buffalo needs to stop with the international games. Second, the NFL needs to never again let a team play internationally two weeks in a row. It was clear this favored the Jags, as the Bills did manage to eventually shake off the jetlag, just far too late into the game. Third, it's clear the NFL wanted a close game, all but carrying the Jags early, then sliding the calls a little more the Bills' way once they were coming back. Fourth, for all his big plays, Davis yet again had a terrible drop at a critical point in the game. Fifth, not one word about the defense. They were jet-lagged, they were decimated by injuries and they were on the field far, far too long. Yet they still made big play after big play to keep the Bills in the game.
  7. Anyone else notice the NFL's Network isn't showing any replays on the penalties they call? Almost like they don't want us to see what they're calling.
  8. And NFL network doesn't show the drop on replay. Their coverage is terrible.
  9. Injuries derailed what looked like a championship team last season, and it looks just like that's going to happen again this season. The NFL really screwed up with this overseas BS. Especially giving JAX a week to adjust.
  10. NFL Network coverage is terrible. Looked like they might have gotten the 1st, but we never saw a good replay.
  11. Refball is bad. That aside, the Bills are getting caught sleeping. They were not ready for the snap on the TD and 2-pt. plays. I might turn this off early if this keeps up.
  12. Use five syllables, Then use seven syllables. Finish with five more. Dolphins are cocky. They are in for a surprise. Our D will feast.
  13. Let me put it this way. Given what Miami just did, how confident would you be for next week if Frasier was our DC? I'm far more encouraged because Buffalo is now a far more aggressive defense, and that is how you beat top teams. They need to get Tua rattled. Force him into bad decisions. And that's something a Frasier-led defense never seemed to get done.
  14. They attack. That's the difference. There are some QBs that will carve you up given enough time, and those are the QBs that shredded us. Bend but don't break only went so far. This D is savage, and good things happen when you begin to rattle a QB. We saw it today. It's not just the stats, it's how we got there. Next week will be a huge test. Right now it's starting to look like an irresistable force hitting an unmoveable object. ...and Von Miller is still looming on the horizon. >.>
  15. 17 points in regulation would have won the game. They had 13 @ halftime. It wasn't like it was 28-27 or such. The defense and ST did more then enough to win. This one was on Josh. Asking for Josh to get 4+ points in a half is not asking for "hero ball".
  16. Yes, that's half of unreliable. His costly drops being the other.
  17. Let's be directly clear here. The Bills cut Araiza because the public lynched him. I remember saying we should wait for the facts to come out, but was yelled at and told I was supporting a sexual abuser. People jumped the gun, quite fanatically, judging him loudly and proudly. This is why the Bills were forced to dump him.
  18. If the rookie contract were to drop lower then five years, why bother spending a high-pick drafting one at all? By the time they're developed, they're likely gone.
  19. Well, so much for the overloaded RB room. This one hurts, as I'd hoped to see him do more then return kickoffs this season.
  20. Wait! I heard we've got a three-way trade to bring him and Ertz here. A guy I know knows a guy that scalps tickets, and he said it was gonna happen.
  21. If we can avoid the injury bug this time around I think we've got a real good shot. Losing Von Miller and having Josh playing injured hurt bad and the other injuries, Hamlin and such buried us.
