  1. Cleveland already said they aren't trading Garrett. Looking to extend him if anything.
  2. Trump's stimulus was more than Biden's. By quite a bit. Both had major implications on the inflation situation.
  3. Apparently Knowles reached out to Penn State the day after the championship, so obviously more to this story. Must be unhappy or some kind of internal issues. I know earlier in the season there were rumors of conflict with Larry Johnson, but who knows.
  4. 85 receiving, 16 yards rushing. 101 yards total.
  5. Roethlisberger didn't win it as a rookie. Won it as a 3rd year player.
  6. Right, but it was already a gauntlet for the rest of the playoff teams past #1 and #2, so it makes the #1 seed that much more valuable. At this point, they would have to add another playoff team to make the logistics work.
  7. Then why do you watch? What's the point if it is all predetermined? Plus, I don't know how much you know about people, but no way that many people involved all keep their mouths shut. Refs, league officials, etc. All it would take is one of any of hundreds or thousands of people to say something. Also, if it happens multiple times per week, what calls this week influenced the games? Did Buffalo win because of the refs? The agenda?
  8. Yes, but there are PLENTY of teams that don't coach or draft well. That's all. The absurdity of "will the NFL allow it" is priceless. It's not being Pro Patriot either, it's just disputing the absolutely outlandish things people say sometimes.
  9. Wow. So because "dynasties" in the past struggled afterwards means that all will going forward. It all depends the FO and coaching. If they operate at a high level, they'll be good. If they don't, they won't. Even Belicheck struggled after orchestrating the dynasty.
  10. The Pro Bowl is voted on by fans. That explains the entire thing. The MVP vote happens before the playoffs, so playoff records have no bearing on the vote.
  11. There is literally no logic in this statement. Belicheck is a great coach but struggled greatly in the FO role, especially later in his career. Wait and see how Wolf's draft looks in a year or 2, and see how they do this year. The team was short on talent due to Belicheck.
  12. All it took was a loss to Michigan for OSU to finally show some guts. UM should get half that trophy if they win.
  13. Garrett didn't say he wanted out of Cleveland. He said he wanted to be there his entire career. He did say he didn't want to have a full rebuild. With a competent QB, Cleveland is still a playoff team. The Watson contract makes that tough, but not impossible. Cleveland keeps carrying over huge cap numbers every year that help offset his numbers. If they can land a good rookie QB or even a veteran QB on a cut contract for cheap, they'll be ok. I hate the long term idea of Cousins, but if you can pay him minimum while Atlanta pays his contract, you can compete. Rumors of Minnesota entertaining trading McCarthy too, which could be interesting.
  14. Comparing the AFC North to the AFC East is laughable. The Bills locked it up a month ago because overall, its one of the worst divisions in football.
  15. The fact that you claim you wouldn't give up a #1 for most likely the best defensive player in the NFL is past Madden absurdity. It's starts at likely 2 #1 and 2 #2 or some close combination.
  16. Ewers honestly has been bad lately. Very careless with the ball.
  17. OSU will win if they continue to pass the ball. It will all depend on Howard. He is somewhat turnover prone, so if Texas can pressure him and not let give the receivers time to get open, then have a shot. If they let them receivers run free, OSU wins by 10+.
  18. Burrow doesn't count. He played zero meaningful snaps at OSU. He is the product of LSU. Stroud has a chance to be the big OSU QB they have lacked in the NFL, but Burrow isn't it.
  19. The drive ended with 10:46 left. Started at the beginning of the 4th or possibly late 3rd. That's not really "padding stats" time.
  20. You're not entirely wrong, but coaches have been able to tell players to "f off" for years. In theory, a coach could have signed a whole entire class to binding LOI, and then leave the next day with no penalty. If the player then decided to transfer the day the coach left, he would have to sit out a year at the new school before being able to play, while the coach could start immediately. And coaches are getting paid $10+ million per year now in college, and the players were making nothing. College football especially is now generating billions of dollars per year, so while it is insane to see what some of these players are making, they should be able to make whatever money they can. Should the market set your salary rate, or should their be some agency that determines what you are allowed to make? I am not saying the new system is perfect because it isn't, but why would the players agree to a cap?
  21. Yes, a professional league. The money going to the college players is essentially endorsements, which can't be capped. https://www.sportico.com/law/analysis/2024/house-ncaa-settlement-illlegal-nil-california-nebraska-oregon-1234819133/ https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/39585390/ncaa-enforce-nil-rules-judge-grants-injunction The NFL can't cap endorsements either, just salary. And it can prevent side deals to circumvent the cap through the league, but not outside endorsements.
  22. A college salary cap has already been ruled illegal. If we're trying to implement these rules, then make the rules for coaches as well.
  23. And one of the best ways to nullify a great QB is to control the clock, which the Lions are very capable of.
  24. Did you watch the post game at all? Michigan planted the flag, and OSU's team ran back and started fighting at mid field. The guy with the flag when Sawyer took it was AFTER the original fight. And again, I don't agree with him doing that at all either. Michigan was midfield with the flag, and when OSU saw it, they ran back and started pushing/fighting. AFTER getting the fight settled, then I agree, the Michigan player instigated the 2nd fight by taking the flag back through the OSU players.
  25. It shows that schools can plant flags and not lose their crap over it. I don't agree with the flag planting, I think it's a dumb new fad, but it doesn't have to turn into a giant brawl over it. To me it's like running up the score. I don't agree with that either, but in same breath, if you don't like it, stop them. If OSU didn't like it, win the game. Sarkisian for Texas said: ""There is a way to win it with class," Sarkisian said. "I just didn't think it was the right thing to do... We shouldn't be planting any flags on their logo." This is this week, after allowing his team to do it earlier in the year. Again, I think it's stupid when anyone plants a flag. But it is also stupid to start a giant brawl over it as well.
