  1. He has to fulfill the contract to get paid. He is choosing to sit out. If he decides to return to work, then yes, they would have to pay him. Right now it is Schwartz that isn't holding up his end of the contract. He doesn't get paid if it is his decision to sit out.
  2. No, they don't. He is choosing not to coach, he wasn't fired. Now next year, if he decides to come back as an active coach, they would have to pay him or release him. But he can't choose not to coach and still get paid.
  3. Monken now needs a DC in Cleveland.
  4. If he doesn't coach, he doesn't get paid. If he chooses next year to coach, then he would be entitled to his contract.
  5. That's not a promotion in the sense of getting him out of his contract. But I doubt they try to force him to stay.
  6. The Browns were also telling HC candidates that they would like to keep Schwartz as DC as well, if he doesn't get the HC gig.
  7. He melted in college if you got consistent pressure. All the ability in the world, but he doesn't have the mental toughness.
  8. Cignetti already said he's not leaving college ball. Obviously a LOT of money may change that, but he seems to be a college lifer.
  9. If the ball is in the air, it's interference, not holding. If the pass in uncatchable, then interference is subjective.
  10. In the NFL, pass interference can technically be called on an "uncatchable" pass, as the rule book doesn't strictly define "catchable," making it a subjective judgment call for officials; however, officials often don't call PI if the ball is clearly uncatchable by either player. The pass on the right landed well out of bounds.
  11. It almost hit the outside line of the white stripe surrounding the endzone. The pass landed well out of bounds. I watched it live, I honestly have no idea if they signaled uncatchable or not. But it was several yards outside the right of the end zone.
  12. It does negate interference. You can't interfere with an uncatchable ball, though what is uncatchable is also essentially a judgement call. Like holding, illegal contact could be called on every single play. I could have seen them call it on that.
  13. Benjamin Allbright posted another angle that shows its much less clear. The ball isn't secure before he hits the ground. Since it was ruled an INT on the field, not enough to overturn. Same as if it had been ruled a catch.
  14. The INT was definitely debatable, with me agreeing it should have been ruled a Cooks catch. But he earlier "catch" along the sideline wasn't close and was correctly ruled incomplete. His entire hand was out of bounds.
  15. He also did in 200 less pass rush snaps than Watt, and around 100 less than Strahan even in 1 more game.
  16. Garrett was also double teamed on over 50% of passing downs. I also have seen 434 passing downs to get the record, not 540.
  17. It's weird. Berry's drafts have been very mixed. A couple that weren't great. This past year was amazing. Only"clear" miss was Gabriel. Sanders wasn't good either, but he at least attempted to pass down field with a very sketchy OL and bottom barrel WRs. Schwesinger will be the DROTY, Graham was excellent, Judkins looked good, Fannin was top tier as a receiving TE. Dylan Sampson was good mostly as a receiving back.
  18. Garrett had something like 100 less pass rush attempts than Watt or Strahan, even in the 17 games season.
  19. Why does NCAA Football create so many insurance salesmen?
  20. And the Browns' 5th string tackles.
  21. You said "the best player in league history." Maybe you meant currently.
  22. Apparently Tom Brady doesn't exist on this planet anymore.
