Gotta admit I didn't listen to the whole presser or read the transcript - just cherry-picked Trotter's tweet. Thanks for the link. I don't doubt Stefanski would agree with the assessment about his toughness and willingness to play but that doesn't answer the burning question as to whether he still can produce at the NFL level and can he be fixed. And IMO, this quote kinda sums up where Stefanski is at with Baker ... On assessing Mayfield’s performance during the 2021 season: “I will wait to talk about reflecting on this season. There will be time for that. Ultimately, I am frustrated for Baker, not to be able to finish the season and those type of things, but anything past that, I will wait to discuss.”…… ... meaning I need to talk to Haslam and see if we want this guy around next year. Why doesn't he just say he expects Baker to be back to his 2020 performance level after the surgery and he's our guy ?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I'm sure there are a few teams that would take Baker off the Browns' hands. NYG, Houston, Denver just to name a few. Is Baker better than Darnold or Newton ?

The question is can Baker return to the 2020 Baker after the surgery ? Confidence is a huge part of QB success and you have to figure he is not only beaten up physically but mentally as well. Lots of batted down passes and Mayfield has thrown more INTs that any QB in the league since 2018. I would agree with Yolo that one of them is out the door and I doubt it's Stefanski after just 2 seasons.

Makes you wonder if there's a lot more under the covers with Mayfield / Stefanski. Did Stefanski say why he left Hudson on his own to deal with T.J. Watt ? Mayfield could be gone but it would take Haslam admitting he was wrong about his #1 pick. Not sure the relationship is repairable ...

Not so sure Mayfield would be hard to replace with Wilson, Garoppolo, Carr, Cousins, Ryan and maybe Deshaun Watson & Rodgers available. Trubisky would have done a better job than Mayfield this year.

How many drops / throwaways contributed to the 17 rating ? Obviously the tipped ball interceptions (and the one other ) drove it down but the 17 rating doesn't include 81 yards rushing and 2 TDS.

Reported on Twitter earlier today that Baker will be having the labrum repair surgery soon, but I'm not sure that will fix his current mindset and propensity to batted balls and turnovers. Might be best for him to get out from under the microscope in Cleveland.
