  1. Holy smokes 13 million. I'm gunna say no thanks to Tyrell Williams then because I'm going to guess he's getting more and for longer.
  2. Maybe that takes them out of the Tyrell Williams sweepstakes and we get him. Hopefully on a good deal.
  3. Good signing. I like that he's excellent in pass protection. We have good C depth now with Morse, Bodine and Long capable of filling in. I want another 2 free agent olineman. Saffold or Spain for G and James or Williams for T. I know I'm being greedy.
  4. Quite a bit of money for a guy that hasn't been healthy. Not a fan of this one. Let's see what else they have in store. So far a weak start to free agency.
  5. This is a move you could make later in the offseason. Not sure the hurry to sign him this early. Hopefully Beane has something better brewing.
  6. Def a guy I wanted. Let's see the money.
  7. I'm not sure about 10 million but we sure could use an Adam Humphries on this team.
  8. High risk high reward. Not sure he'd be my pick but id be ok with it. Sometimes you have to take risks to taste the champagne.
  9. I think the top dlineman is the way to go. Hopefully a couple of the offensive players go early and we have a choice of Oliver, Ferrel, Wilkins, Burns, Sweat, Gary. Going forward I think I like Wilkins the most from a safe pick perspective. Gary and Oliver probably have the highest ceilings. I'd trust in McBeane to make the choice. Possibly even move back in the draft and get one of these guys.
  10. That's a tough pill to swallow. Was hoping this would go through. Was kinda crossing my fingers that we'd draft his cousin Marquis Brown and they'd work together.
  11. Maybe Ramon Foster is an option short term. Another guy to rotate with Long, Teller and a possible late round pick. We need quality depth and with our cap space we have the ability to do so.
  12. Need a "neither" option. I don't like either with our #9 pick. I don't see them lasting to round 2 so we'd need to trade down. I'd be ok with that depending on how far we go down and what we get back. I'm all for the top dlineman at #9. Give me any of Oliver, Burns, Ferrell, Wilkins. To a lesser extent I'd be good with Gary, Sweat or Polite if that's who Beane and Co think is the right guy.
  13. Signing a couple of those starting lineman would open us up to use our early round draft picks on better value players. Instead of using #9 on a OT we'd be able to use it on dline where it seems the better value lies. As far as I've seen the defensive line players are rated higher than any of the offensive players. Signing those starting olinemen would also allow us to patiently develop late round oline picks instead of them being thrust into a situation similar to Wyatt Teller when he wasn't ready.
  14. We are that needy team. We should be willing to take some risk with this cap space. A 26 year old previous 2nd team all pro coming off a major injury is a risk I think this team can afford to take.
  15. I think it is imperative that we address the oline. We'll be fighting with a bunch of other teams trying to shore up their oline but if we want to help Josh Allen we NEED to improve our line. We not only need 2 more starting lineman we also need to build up the depth chart with decent backups. Spencer Long was a step in the right direction. Russell Bodine is a quality backup. Wyatt Teller is currently a major work in progress. Last year was an embarrassment. Our WR's weren't very good but our inability to protect the QB long enough was a major factor in their poor play. We have the cap space to fix the oline.
  16. How do we feel about Jamison Crowder as a WR option? Had a down year due to injury but has been productive in previous years. Still relatively young at 26 to start next season. He's proven to be quick and agile with the ability to create seperation.
  17. This is a good depth signing. We still need 2 more O-lineman. The better they are the better this signing will look. If we are fortunate enough to sign Mitch Morse and Ja'wuan James/ Daryl Williams all of a sudden our offensive line is looking like a strong point. Add in a potential #9 pick in Jonah Williams and all of a sudden we could be really cooking. Though my preference would be to draft BPA and that likely is someone on defense. Dawkins - Teller - Morse - Long - James/Williams starting. Bodine is a capable depth center. Who else do we have signed?
  18. Losing patience with Jones development is understandable. At 24 years old to start next season i think he's still too young to throw overboard. He'll get every chance at training camp to make the team. I think he showed some improvement this season. With more consistent QB play and more familiarity with Allen should go a long way. It would be some kinda of Billsy move to let him leave and flourish as a solid WR for another team. 650 yards 7 TD from a 2nd year player drafted in the 2nd round isn't anything to sneeze at anyway. Give him another season with Allen and we'll see. He's cheap anyway. As for this draft i'm so intrigued by DK Metcalf. He is the Josh Allen(QB) and Tremaine Edmunds of this draft where he likely has the highest upside and raw ability but a long way to reach it. If Beane goes this route i won't be able to blame him even if Metcalf busts. In this business a GM has limited time to get it right. Swing for the fences type pick right here. Picking up a Christian Wilkins at 9 is probably the "safer" play.
  19. I would be 100% ok with this draft... 9: R1P9 OT JONAH WILLIAMS ALABAMA 41: R2P9 WR DEEBO SAMUEL SOUTH CAROLINA 71: R3P7 C ELGTON JENKINS MISSISSIPPI ST 113: R4P11 TE T.J. HOCKENSON IOWA 133: R4P31 RB RODNEY ANDERSON OKLAHOMA 149: R5P10 EDGE JALEN JELKS OREGON 159: R5P20 WR ANTHONY JOHNSON (UB) BUFFALO 184: R6P9 G CODY FORD OKLAHOMA 224: R7P8 TE IRV SMITH JR. ALABAMA 230: R7P14 C JESSE BURKETT STANFORD
  20. We had no money to spend last offseason. Bradford wasn't affordable. Fitzgerald or Bridgewater may not have wanted to sign here with the current state of the o-line/wr's. This upcoming offseason is going to be pretty telling. Will they be able to recruit talent to come here? Will they use the cap money efficiently to fill the majority of the roster holes? How will the draft go? This offseason is going to be the one that Beane and McDermott will be judged on going forward. Miss on this offseason, Allen doesn't progress next season and they are both likely looking for new work in 2020.
  21. Bell is interesting. You aren't getting him unless you overpay. On the other hand you'd be hard pressed to find a better single player to spend the money on. You'd probably be able to spend the money more efficiently on depth pieces that help fill holes.
  22. Hopefully McCoy comes back this week and plays well. Would be nice to get him a chance at a Superbowl. We'd at least get something for a RB we really have no use for this season.
  23. The o-line is the starting point of our offensive problems. Not enough time for the qb, not enough space created for the rb. Its been a weak spot since Woods, Incognito and Glenn haven't been replaced with equal or better quality. This offseason the o-line needs to be a major focus.
