  1. Had him on my list. Upgrade over Yeldon for sure- interested to see if they see him as back up or competing to be #1 back.
  2. Supposedly he put on weight so that he can play on the inside and that is when he became more productive. So he is really more of a 275-280 guy than the 265 guy.
  3. Vic Beasley? Was he a Bill? Cole plays on offense.
  4. It is so. Do people love having Diggs on the Bills? Do people credit Beane with getting Diggs? Answer to both yes. Before Diggs, were people called haters for calling on Beane to get a WR? Yes. I want the team to get better. You may be confusing me and what I say with something else. I just like to actually think and not just say everything is amazing no matter what. For example, I am 100% happy with last season. Doesn't mean I still dont hate the signings of Addison, Jefferson, Butler. That is allowed. He looks more like our Q Jefferson replacement than an edge guy.
  5. Got no bitterness. I just find it humorous
  6. That was Beane's magic. He convinced all the "experts" out there to keep him off any top 100 free agents lists to drive the price down.
  7. I just heard the water boy had a 10% higher job offer from NE and turned it down to stay in Buffalo. Go Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I agree to some extent. My point is you are criticized for having an opinion until the Bills actually do what your opinion was. Say Bills sign Billy Jenkins III prior to Diggs trade. I post "I hope this is not the answer at WR and they have another move to be made". Board then calls me or anyone with that opinion anti-Beane and negative Nancy who does not understand what Beane is trying to do. The next day Bills trade for Diggs and Beane is a genius and how amazing the move is. Its like you can only be happy with what they do and not have any original thoughts. It is hard to find the DE we need. Doesnt mean you dont try. They tried with Watt and possibly others. There are still some names out there that could help - Dunlap, Ingram, Clowney. I am anti-Beane for wanting a guy like that. When they sign him next week it will be a great move. That is how it works here. I am not complaining. I want the team to get better so we can win the division, beat the chiefs/ravens/browns or whoever in the playoffs and go win a super bowl. The biggest need to put us in that position is pass rush and from the edge to be specific. Efe is not a bad addition. He just does not help much with that problem. Even if he is solid he is still an interior rusher not an edge rusher.
  9. Huh? Plenty said prior to Diggs that WR was not a huge need. People talked up Brown as being a true #1 if given the chance. That Duke Williams showed his potential in that 100 yard game to end the season. Brown, Beasley, Duke and you draft a WR plus still have McK and Foster. There were plenty that were ready to roll with that strategy. I was big on you need a true / legit #1 and was told Beane knows what he is doing, the team has other needs, they obviously like what they have etc. That crew may have looked "respectable" but look what getting a guy like Diggs does for you. Same goes for this DL. You can roll out Addison, Hughes, Efe, AJE and be possibly respectable. Have guys get 6 sacks and seem solid (like Brown's 1,000 season). But you plug in a legit DE and he may only get 10 sacks but changes the entire game. And plenty are talking about this signing as a great signing and like he will have a big impact. He may just as likely barely see the field or have no impact. My point he is not a difference maker signing that is scaring our opponents. He is a just another guy. I do like the signing assuming it is at a minimum salary and is not the last move made. I dont want it to be the check the box, pass rush is fixed move. That is all. Worth a gamble as a potential player that can do more than is expected. Again, we need more at DE than we have now.
  10. Again my point is stats dont tell the whole story. There is a reason a 5.5 sack guy was not a sought after free agent. There are tons of examples of these tyoes of situations. Heck, Robert Foster had 500+ yards and mostly in the second half of the year as a rookie...
  11. Obviously there is more than just the stats or this guy would have gotten a $10M per deal. We should have released Addison and his nearly $10M if we really believe this guy will be more productive.
  12. There is where just the stats can be misleading. There are obviously plenty of examples of guys that had less than 5.5 sacks that are in much more demand. It is what is actually happening on the plays he is in. How much is he impacting the game. Questions like - What is his win rate? What does he do vs the run? How much attention does he draw from the offense? How does he impact guys around him? Are his sacks in garbage time? Are they clean up sacks vs beat your guy and sack the QB? I would have to guess some of those answers are why a 5.5 sack is not in high demand. Still a good signing just dont expect him to be a savior and answer to our DL issues. This stuff reminds me of the pre Stef Diggs trade - we dont need help at WR we have Duke Williams. He has produced every time he had a chance. Look at the difference a Diggs makes vs a Williams. Or even a Diggs vs a John Brown. The same could happen if we could get a legit edge guy.
  13. I think he is more of a Bryan Cox level signing than a Mario Addison. He is fighting for a roster spot which luckily for him there is not a ton of competition right now. It is a good move by the Bills assuming it is a min level type contract.
  14. Lets see the money here. It better be under $1M. Hard to say much about this guy yet. But the fact CAR did not tender him and he was not high on any free agent lists has to mean something. Yes, he could turn out to be a baller but it is more realistic that he will be a rotational guy.
  15. Don’t know much about the guy yet. Assume it is very low $ deal and we still have a plan to use Tre restrux $ on a player or two. Do have to remind that Aaron Maybin had 6 sacks for the Jets...
  16. Boom. There it is. They Efen did it.
  17. And along these same lines our offense could be a fluke. Most (vegas odds included) will pick the Bills to win the division. I am speaking for the OP, but I think his point is other teams got much better on paper while the Bills basically stood pat. Did they do enough to close the gap? Most likely not. But they definitely made it more interesting and closed the gap. If pre free agency it was say 90% chance Bills repeat it is now maybe 80%.
  18. I agree for the most part. My bet would be we sweep the Jets but could potentially go 3-1/2-2 vs Pats and Fins. So that is either 5-1 or 4-2 vs the division and likely win the division at 11-5 to 13-3. I am not as easily ready to count out NE yet. We still dont know who is QB is and they have added a ton of pieces. People act like they went 2-14 last year when they were 7-9. They added some pieces so would not be shocked to see them go 10-6.
  19. I expect us to repeat as AFCE champs. But to the OP point - it will likely be harder. The teams in our division all appear to have gotten better. That is 6 games that will be tougher wins. On the flipside, as of now many of the other opponents look potentially soft: ATL, CAR, HOU, JAC, NO. Tough games include TB, TEN, KC, PIT, IND. So worse case you go 3-3 in division and 5-5 in the others = 8-8. Better case would be 4-2 in division and 6-4 = 10-6. Best case you go 6-0 again and only lose some tough road games at KC and TB, possibly one other and your at 13-3.
  20. Because either the entire team is going to the HOF or you hate them. The thread has its title “done the seemingly impossible”. Not complaining and am happy with the team. But done the impossible? The premise of that is insulting to the team.
  21. As they say. The GM/Coach are tied to the QB they draft. If Allen was a bust these guys could potentially be out of a job. Thankfully he wasn't and they deserve the credit for making the right pick. Just not "earth shattering, beyond what anyone could imagine, miracle worker" talk. And there are some that tend to exaggerate or overly cheerlead everything. Saying they have not done the impossible is not complaining. That is just reality checking. Great job yes. Miracle workers now.
  22. Guess guys are still holding out for big $.
  23. Players also dont wait because they then risk their team moving on. If the Bills signed Lavonte David then Milano was gone and looking at a new team and possibly even less money. No MLB's are getting paid. If you look at the NFL these days RB's and MLB's are becoming the cheapest guys out there.
  24. Sherman is perfect for 1 year deal. He would be a much better signing than Norman last year. He could likely be CB2 or at least part of the rotation based on match ups. Dunlap, Clowney, Houston, Ingram - All would be our best or second best pass rusher at this point. Dunlap is my choice and go compare his numbers to Hughes. Gets ,more sacks, more QB hits, misses less tackles. Its a no brainer if you get him on a cheap deal. At RB we just need another body - you take the best guy for least money. RB's can be had on the cheap so you take an experienced guy if you can.
