  1. ^ agree (w Jay_FixIt)... Washed up at 27 and healthy currently? Poor Man's Adolphus (who has literally HALF of the production as Star, although Star is a NT)? "whatever player rushes from the other side likely only hurries a few throws" I am curious, what (multidimensional) DT were we supposed to acquire to change that and when were we? and did we not try to do exactly as best we could in the 3rd round with H. Phillips, who had over 100tackles from the nose last year? Are you trolling?
  2. I feel like they will extend KB (the FO drafted him, traded for him and so far has only gotten one season out of him)... W/$90mil they wont pressure the franchise with two needs at WR. I feel like we will most definitely take a go at one of (whomever is) the top RT available or top 3 interior guys at OL. I also feel like we may look at pass rush in FA as well. TM acquisition this season shows we sill spend money outside of popular opinion on the DE position. I also feel like they will look to add to their TE. I do not know if they would move on from Clay but I do think they make a run.
  3. Its a fair misunderstanding and the board will likely flame you for it, lol (dont waste your time explaining) but no biggie. I also live in San Diego, any recommendations for game day's here? I just moved here last yr for law school (post USMC) and tried the PB scene but it was kind of a mess.
  4. The most amazing part is that we still took a shot at a QB... Even if we whiff there, taking Edmunds @ 16 w/o giving up anything next year... Unreal and not very Billsey. It makes me look forward to next year that much more.

  6. Gotta go w/ 1. Chan, 2. Marrone (boring however, he was trending up) and 3. (ugh, unfortunately) Mularky. Although if I had to not vote for 3-6, I could do that without remorse also. Mularky showed promise and actually led us to a 9-7 record but he was a patsy for Donahue and the roster could never recover. In regard to the foot soldier: Rex, he brought some recognition with him and followed suit by falling flat on his fat face and somehow utterly ruining a defense. Gregg was meh and Dick Jauron was by far the worst... We NEEDED a HC badly at the time, in particular we were looking for more of a big time name. Instead we chose Chicago cast-off DJ... to make matters worse we extended him when we all knew the experiment was over...
  7. I vote with AB as the best... OBJ is great though but distracts from the team too much to be the best... Also, the Landry statement is absolutely asinine. Hes had what like 430 receptions in four years with like 3900yds and less than 20TD... Best at what Jarvis? Wtf are you talking about? Are you with Ko Simpson again?
  8. I followed (lurked) the BBMB for about a decade and I think I posted once or twice. I was flamed for being a non fan both times. Our mods and admin do an excellent job filtering that away and this board has been a blessing. Thank you for doing such a great job!
  9. I recently saw a comment by Shaw66 noting about how he is higher on Zay Jones than many others on the board and I agree with him in a big way. I will preface my opinion with the fact that I do not believe Zay will ever be a true no.1 however, I still believe that if he is healthy, there is still potential for a solid no.2 receiver to emerge. One thing leading me to believe this is that you do not forget how to catch overnight. Like Shaw66 said, he had some horrendous drops but he also ran routes well and got open. His hands will reemerge with his confidence and maturity. With that being said, this is what I worry about. 1. Health- Zay played the season w a torn labrum (awesome toughness, except for the lack of production that came with it) and following the cuts from the window incident, we now are concerned with a minor knee surgery (that took place during rookie mini-camp time frame) for an injury we do not know about 2. Depth- Zay is our best option for a no.2. Like it or not, we do not have options. I worry that our lack of depth will impact and hinder his growth simply because we literally have so few options that we have unrealistic expectations from Zay's production. 3. Hands- I believe that focus and a bad case of rookie-itis with the injury bug crippled his performance however, truth be told we do not know why he did not produce. Furthermore, we have no idea what impacted the NCAA single season reception leader's rookie season (in re: to hands) in NFL so largely. What do people think is a good plan for rolling into next season? Should we sign a vet to pick up some reps (a la Dez, etc.)? Should we go with what we have and hope everyone is healthy? Please let me know what you guys think.
  10. https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/report-former-buffalo-bills-ol-richie-incognito-had-cops-called-on-him-at-florida-gym http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-sp-dolphins-jonathan-martin-20180225-story.html Irony that they were both recommended for involuntary medical examination under the same (Baker) Act... Imagine the setting during a group share when going back... Could not script better drama....
  11. A little bit of J. Mills (@SD) type effort during the infamous Peterman start, lmao
  12. I am okay with moving on but I worry about him staying in the AFCE and hurting us. Ideally he goes to the Vikes or something or returns elsewhere in the NFC. He is still immensely talented and fully capable of starting anywhere in the NFL... Otherwise, I am all for moving forward (I would rather have waited until next year but what are you going to do) with Wyatt Teller and whomever else next year. Thanks for the memories Richie and bringing some nastiness back to B-lo when we were DESPERATE for some tenacity on our OL was really something to see (top 5 rushing attack in the NFL). It's too bad you got weird in the end however, it is unlikely any of us will ever know why. Hasta la vista Richie! #justsayNOtotheAFC
  13. Solid List and I really dig your explanation for McGahee (Spiller at the time too!)... I may throw a honorable mention to David Nelson for two years but the ALL TIME EPITOME of how painful the drought was can be summed up in ONE front office move and here is ONE EXAMPLE (of many) personnel moves that kept us back. Keeping Dick Jauron and KNOWING he was waiting to be fired... and starting Keith Ellison for the year and neglecting to upgrade for years while defending his play to the fans... barf
  14. ^ This... I never used Twitter but literally just started to find the MOST efficient way to follow the league and it is for sure the best as of late. All of Rotoworld's news is mostly copy paste from some analysts Twitter feed. Just create one and add everyone you can think of (NFL wise)
  15. In no particular order but with the real gems toward the end of the list.... I have a white 35th Anniversary Bruce Smith that I made, (check it below) which is my no. 1. and a blue one that I made for my wife. I also, have a blue Reed (Mitchell & Ness), a blue Kelly (Proline Throwback), a white Moulds (Nike, I sewed a NFL patch on the collar and it's legit), a blue Dareus (soon to be a Harrison Phillips), a light blue T. Spikes (Reebok throwback), a Flutie (Puma), a blue T. Spikes (Reebok), a Todd Collins (Reebok, I think), a blue McGahee (Reebok), a white (autographed when I was 10 and met him wearing it!) Bruce (Starter, I think), a blue Marshawn Lynch (Reebok), and a blue Bryce Paup (Starter). I am working on somehow finding a M white Kyle Williams/Freddy Jackson (alternate throwback) and/or a M blue Nike Kyle Williams. Other than that I am one day going to buy the white Thurman jersey from SB25, make a blue Talley jersey and buy another M Kelly color rush. I would also love for Edmunds to develop so I could cop one of those too... In hindsight, maybe I have a problem....
  16. A lot of work? If I remember correctly he was a stud SPTeams player (blocked punt at Cinci) and within 2yrs was a starting LT in the NFL that was doing excellent... We should have paid him...
  17. This is a fun one and the options are many however, I'll take a stab at some of the first to come to mind immediately. - Not paying Jason Peters... We were a terrible OL team who tried hard to obtain talent with FA acquisitions like Derrick Dockery, Langston Walker and Duke Preston/Melvin Fowler. Instead of paying JP we decided he was not worth it and threw more money at the rest in FA, barf. - Rex over Shwartz... After Shwartz built this young and talented defense and took an underwhelming Lions team back to the postseason we opted for NYJ flame-out Rex Ryan, who came in and 'rebuilt' our top 5 defense into back to back >15 defense and wiped out an entire personnel base, causing an additional year of dead money, realignment of draft strategy and roster building to even consider a proper rebuild... Which until last year had NEVER actually been done yet. There had always been some remnant of a former regime that the Bills have used to cut corners on a proper rebuild. Bonus Points: Shwartz was 21-27 as a HC from 2011-13 and Rex was 22-26 as a HC from 2011-13. I guess that one win was more important than keeping the entire defense together... - Drafting Willis McGahee at 23... **I liked Willis (as a RB) however, drafting a 1rd RB when your 25yo (making llike $750k v. Willis' $3.5+mill (old salary cap)) is coming off of back to back 1350+yd seasons... Why? - ^ Repeat this one for all of our 'farm team' players that we seem to draft to replace consistently (RB, CB, DT, DE)... I.E., Nate Clements, Marshawn Lynch, Antoine Winfield, etc. - Pat Williams... Pat Williams went on to play another full 6yrs as an efficient DL in Minnesota when we thought he was done and chose the FA route with Marcus Stroud. Pat Williams was a star in Buffalo and fixture for the community here. He did an excellent job in either defense he played in and validated that with his play next to Kevin WIlliams for the back of the early 2000's. - Maybin over Orakpo... We switched to a 4-3 defense and to base our edge we chose Aaron Maybin at 11 instead of Brian Orakpo. Maybin had like 15/16 sacks ever and Orakpo had like 25 and was something like 35lbs heavier with a WAY higher draft grade. It was the type of pick that the NYJ are notorious for (a la Vernon Gholston 1.0). Bonus Points: Aaron Maybin is an accredited racial artist in Baltimore who has not played since 2012 and Brian Orakpo is still playing football at a very high level, and has done so in both (4-3/3-4) fronts. - The worthless coaching carousel of terrible candidates... Amazingly out of all these years of top prospects in the FA coaching ranks, in addition to the multitude of college coaches making the jump, we were NEVER able to land a big name. Or at least anyone exciting enough to give the fans hope we would come out of it. Our biggest 'name' was Rex Ryan and we all know how that went. I am not saying that a big name would have righted the ship but after willing to spend money and make moves, it's nuts to me that we were unable to hire ANY of the names that were higher profile. I just figured after Wade Phillips we could do better than, Dick Jauron (2x), Chan Gaily and Doug Marrone when it was rumored that Cowher might come back, Shannahan, Ron Rivera, Adam Gase and Bill O'Brian (sp*) were all realistic candidates at one point and time. It seems to have worked out so far as the 'new guy' we got has done a good job in season one. However, us not landing any of those guys when we seemed so close to all of them there for a while, was almost like we were the pariahs of Erie (Go Dawg Pound!). - Never Taking a QB... Easily my number one. We have never taken a QB in the top 5, never in the top 10 (until this year) and only once in the top 15 (Jim Kelly)... Its nuts that a team in permanent purgatory never decided to take a QB higher than midway through the first, ever. It really is mind blowing to think that after all of these, almosts and could have beens that resulted in trades and FA acquisitions, we never once decided to move up for our QB. Bonus Points: We actually did have a deal in place in 2004 to move up for Ben Roethlesberger and WE decided to pull out last minute, which resulted in the hasty trade up to appease fans with JP Losman and the electric, DT John McCargo two yrs later (once we were able to return to the first rd. JP cost us extra in fact). In hindsight, maybe I am showing my age (30) or maybe I am showing the organizations's ineptitude but looking at my list of 'top 5', I am starting to see a trend in the correlation of us winning and whatever (main) front office decisions were made from 2002-2014.
  18. I’ll go one further and say that had we promoted Scwartz we would have broke the drought. However, with that being said I do not think he would have been the long term answer at all... but with his sac he likely would have gone after a QB early on and keeping the D in the 4-3 and running a similar scheme would have been enough continuity to get us over the hump (drought) for sure!
