It’s funny that people wanted Cooks but not OBJ? Cooks has pushed himself out of a number of places. He’s a terrible teammate, been stripped of his captaincy and pushed himself out of New Orleans becuase he was complaining about Drew Brees and was jealous of Micael Thomas. He’s the biggest diva of them all, he just doesn’t dye his hair pink. I would take OBJ every day, every second.

Pitt is stacking guards. They have Kevin Dotson, James Daniels, Mason Cole at center and just signed Nate Herbig. I’m guessing they cut somebody?

Yep 100%. Have to find that balance. but elite pass rushers should go in the first and RTs and guards should not. Well, here’s the thing…OL can develop and get better by massive strides. Pass rushers don’t. It is so based on natural ability. You either have natural wiggle and bend to the QB or you don’t. Yeah they can learn new pass rush moves and things, but it is the position that relies the most on God-given natural traits. These OL we have with these ridiculous athletic traits can get a lot better. Our defensive ends are pretty much what they are. They need to find sacks.

They like their line. I like them too. Why some fans continue to bang their heads against the wall expecting the Bills to replace the guys they invested in and believe in just doesn’t make sense to me. You want to mediocre? Start drafting RTs and guards in the first round. They aren’t doing it. PFF scores are meaningless when it comes to OL play. Additionally, Mitch Morse is not old for a center and the concussion narrative has been a concern amongst fans since day 1 and it has not been an issue. It it was a problem, he would retire. People on the board wanted Matt Paradis. What is he doing now? Issac Seumalo is the only free agent better than what we have. If they felt like these guys needed to be replaced, they would have done it earlier. They like their line, and people want to disagree…at the end of the day none of our opinions matter.

At this point I do. I think they are going to hit the reset button there. I like this linebacker class a lot and there are a couple of plug and play guys. If its not Wagner I think its going to be a rookie. I mentioned him a few times, but I really like Anthony Walker as a stopgap, raise the floor. Outside or Wagner and outside shot Walker, I think the next guy is going to be a rookie.

He went to a team that has 2 starting linebackers already and a top reserve. He’s going there to compete for a backup role. That leads me to believe we were not in on him.

No shot. There is zero chance any of these guys on the roster are starting next year. Very begrudgingly, maybe, Dodson has a tiny chance because he has been in the system so long. It’ either Wagner, Anthony Walker, or a draft pick. That’s all that is left unless someone unexpected gets released.

Do you really look at those ratings though? They don’t pass the eye test sorry. I like PFF for some stuff. Their OL grades are hogwash. They mean nothing. Sam Mustipher? Lol really? C’mon

I am ok with the Elliot or Fournette idea now. Those guys aren’t my favorite, but they have something to prove, so you get them when their back is against the wall. They will be at their best. With each passing day the prices get cheaper and more vets will be released. Remember that their priorities don’t always line up with ours.

I think it depends. I want to know if Vance Joseph is running a 4-3 there. If so he needs a 3 tech. I know people want to trade Oliver, not sure who replaces him…but for Juedy I do It.

Yeah they have to make re-signing Landon Dickerson the priority so I get Seumalo gets pushed out. I have no idea why he is still out there. Maybe he’s waiting and wants to return to philly. He was a center in college…jordan Poyers teammate. been a while for him. But I’m sure he can pick it back up. I don’t think he will be cheap

If I were a betting man, which I am not, I think its LB, Edge, WR or TE with a small chance a DT. It doesn’t matter where the offensive weapon comes from as long as there is a plan for him to be on the field. They aren’t going to draft RT in the first round to compete with Spencer Brown. It’s not happening. And they are not drafting a guard. Zero shot.

Just watch some Iowa games on the ESPN app. Guy is just awesome. He plays zone like he has eyes in the back of his head, sheds, fills, pursues, and I see sideline to sideline work despite the assumption “big long white guy can’t run.” He can run and carry the seam. He’s a big stronger version of Fred Warner. He’s a dude. Someone mentioned in another thread, that Campbell is training with Luke Keuchly. In theory, he could come to his pre Draft visit (assuming he has one) and already know the entire playbook. Trenton Simpson is different. Some websites compare him to JOK of the Browns. Simpson is bigger, faster, stronger, and more explosive. He looks like he came out of a lab to play for McDermott. Oozes process too. If you watch his games, last year he was more of a flex nickel edge player. This past year he played in the box as a stack backer, so you see a lot of different skills. I would be ecstatic with either honestly. Simpson hits like a fright train, speed, all over the field and he is an awesome blitzer. As this process continues, because these guys are such amazing, incredibly smart young men, they are going to rise up draft boards.

I agree, but If the invest fails you can’t just keep beating your head against the wall, you have to reinvest and try something else. Those failed draft picks are a sunk cost. It sucks, but its a crapshoot. Total 100% sneaky need. They ain’t drafting a guard in the first round I can tell you that.

The weird thing with the Chiefs and Drue Tranquill is they have Bolton, Gay and Chenal, so that make 4 guys on the roster better than Dodson/Bernard. One of them isn’t going to play much. It’s weird.

All good man. I saw some good things from Bernard in the Jets game. A few rookie mistakes as well. I know this, he is not a mike. Does he ever become serviceable? Yeah maybe. If McDermott starts running more of the 4-3 under stuff I could see Bernard being the Shaq Thompson role. Milano is Thomas Davis. We are still missing the Kuechly role. Right now its really just Wagner or draft, or maybe somebody bets cut. I love Jack Campbell, Trenton Simpson is more their flavor, but we shall see.

Yeah I get ya. I just, dont want it to turn into a Tremaine bashing post, but all I heard was that he took away the middle of the field. But he didn’t. At all. Ever. He was terrible at that. And just because he is tall or whatever doesn’t mean he did those things. Maybe we can get Dikembe Mutumbo to stand at Mike y’know. And I am being half facetious, and half kinda factual. So I think there could be some dropoff in play there, but with Hyde back and hopefully a better pass rush, we don’t get exposed in that area.

So wait, the middle of the field was open last year? And this year it will be worse? This is all very confusing. Obviously they were not interested in Tranquill.

I would add a list of ESPN's top 50 with their rankings...because I want to see who we are passing on at other positions to reach for need. I know people get angry, but I believe DL is a need. Edge and interior. We lost last year because those guys could not get to the QB. We 100% need to continue to add weapons to the offense and add depth to the offensive line, but if we can't get to the QB, we can't win the whole thing.
