Bingo. 49ers would be in tough with this division. I feel like Shanahan would probably win a SB here because Allen has the authority to change at the line. And Allen can probably overcome more coaching mistakes than a Purdy. If the team were going all in for one year, I'd want Belichick. But he will be 73 by 2025.

Allen needs to mentally overpower Mahomes
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen needs to do nothing differently against KC. He is the reason we beat them during the year. And have a chance in the postseason. It's every other player and coach that needs to step up. Especially coaches. I feel like McDermott won't be coach when/IF we beat KC in January. It'll be someone like Belichick or Ben Johnson. And I don’t think McDermott will be the HC when/if we win the SB. -
It's our Lombardi or else McDermott is done imo. I don't even think an AFC title game appearance saves him. To win the title, we need legit weapons sans Diggs. We need a huge upgrade on D. And a special assistant coach to help McD with time management etc.

Rate your hatred (Chiefs vs Patriots)
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
NE because they were in the division and you felt hopeless. They also beat us on a consistent basis. KC doesn't beat us consistently. Well...regular season at least. I like Reid alot more than Bill too. It's annoying how similar Mahomes and Brady actually are. No lead, whether 25 points or what not, is ever safe against them. Both had GOAT TE's. Both had GOAT HC's. When everything looked lost, they rise from the ashes. -
Yeah I think Allen would change things. Because he has the authority to audible etc.
-
Yup. KC having 4 downs is an automatic TD for them. If you kick it away, they will likely use three downs. Either way, you know what needs to be done on your drive. The fact he barely knew any of this tells me his team would have ran onto the field to celebrate a go ahead, not GW, TD. It also tells me one team was clearly better prepared for all situations.

Shanahan is better. But....after seeing him screw up so many big games, who is to say he suddenly changes as our HC? Now...maybe Allen overrides his dumb calls and takes over himself. But idk...
-
I think he would be the best OC in the game. A HC is responsible for alot more though. He is definitely overrated. I wouldn't want him as Bills HC. SF is stuck with him. They can't fire him. So do they just hope he calls a great 60 minute game someday? I've ripped Belichick all season. But last night is exactly why you would want him as your HC in a huge game. I thought Reid was more important than Mahomes yesterday. Mahomes was very good. Not spectacular. Reid and Spagnola (deserves hof as a DC) were terrific

Can you imagine if SF scored a TD, everyone runs out onto the field. Suddenly, refs move everyone away and tell them KC still gets an offensive possession. Then, the Chiefs go down and scre a TD and get the 2 point conversion to take the game. What an embarrassing moment that would be.

Its Pretty Obvious why the Chiefs win every year

Not in the SB. But...McD hasn't done that yet. I keep saying it. But I wouldn't be stunned if your Bills HC in 2025 is.... Bill Belichick -

Mahomes>Brady Mahomes has 15 playoff wins. By age 34, he should have about 30. 3 SB MVP's Will undoubtedly win a few more league MVP's. -

I think KC winning puts even more pressure on McD for next season. How can the Bills watch the Chiefs and think what we have at HC is acceptable? -
I mean in the end, does anyone really think SF would march back down and get a TD? But yes I agree overall. You kickoff and see what you need to do.
-
Purdy was OK. Frankly, I'm stunned at how well the 49ers D played. I still think Purdy hs to grow as a QB though.
-
If your SF, you have to consider replacing Shanahan. You can't tell me they lose that game with Belichick. Now..the big question for KC is Reid & Kelce. I think both will be back no? Anyways, that was the worst Chiefs offense of the Mahomes era. They still won.

Allen, the Super Bowl "window," and the KC hurdle
Billsfanatic8989 replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills can beat the Chiefs. They have done it alot. Just not in the postseason. And two of those games came down to the wire. I believe it's coaching that wins KC the playoff games. Which is why realistically 2024 is McD's last chance. Anything short of a conference title game, I think he is out. I still can't forgive him for "13 seconds". That still stings. This team needs a HC to push them over the hump. Belichick would improve this D. And we already have the QB.- 63 replies

Why the Josh Allen hate (draft reaction)?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
In that thread, it seems to insinuate he would have been there at 12. Why did the Bills move up? -
49ers haven't been impressive in this postseason. I don't see any position where they are that much better than KC. QB/HC/DC: Chiefs WR: 49ers

At the end, how Josh Allen's carrer will look like ?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Won't win one under this regime. If they had a Belichick/Harbaugh, they win the SB within two years. Wouldn't be shocked if Bills fans are forced to see him win it with another team. -

I think the organization is still in a stage where getting to the postseason regularly after a near 20 year drought is an accomplishment. In comparison to those teams, this era of Bills look unbeatable. The front office needs to start looking at where this organization is player & personnel wise compared to the other top contenders. Division titles are meaningless without playoff success. Questions need to be asked: McD vs Reid in the postseason. McD's time management; struggles against Cincinnati. -
Tells me that the Bills are not playing up to their full capabilities.

Was the old playoff format better?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Nklaiste1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hate the Monday Night Games. Playoffs on a Monday seem abnormal. I preferred the 6 seeds in each conference. The 7 seed is usually mediocre and gets beat pretty bad. It's watered down. Lastly, the season feels top long. 23 weeks between the start of the season and SB? If they add more games, the SB will eventually be in March. Too long. -
Can We End This Nonsense About Homefield Advantage Now?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall
How in the world would that be an upset? They are the 1 seed with best defense and a top offense playing at home. -
This. But Detroit will be huge underdogs. Especially if against Baltimore. It would be quite the story. If they win the SB, they would have defeated SF and then KC/Baltimore. That's not an easy feat.
-
I'm not sold on Lamar Jackson yet. I wouldn't put it past him to come out and struggle on Sunday. If he doesn't, Baltimore should win. 49ers are the only NFC team that has a shot against either. I'm not sold on Purdy though.
