  1. Can we get the title of this thread updated to reflect Shefty's correction of his own erroneous report?
  2. Schefter - correcting his own report...
  3. Turns out Horrible Harry was a long snapper in HS... https://journalstar.com/sports/high-school/football/super-state-2013/super-state-football-extra-effort-pays-dividends-for-phillips-strong/article_7a988fff-3bda-5b32-90e2-04505927ec28.html
  4. I agree... it will be interesting to see how he fits. Having the team culture in place, he could come in and embrace the culture and thrive which would be a huge win. Or if he comes in and doesn't fit, then we haven't lost much. I did some looking back at some old stories on his past, looks like he had a rough upbringing, but has some elements that could see him embracing the team culture here. https://www.ohio.com/akron/writers/browns-rookie-wide-receiver-corey-coleman-rose-from-violent-streets-forgave-imprisoned-father-on-inspirational-journey-to-nfl He has a strong connection with NFL vet Ray Crockett who seems to be a good character influence IMO.
  5. I just listened to the interview, he said exactly what he should have said. Basically like what some have referenced above here, he is focusing on the big picture and being the best QB he can be. This attitude and the way he responds will serve him well.
  6. Here is a new local news story from central valley, recapping Josh's story. Not really any new info, but several interviews with some key people in his story. http://www.yourcentralvalley.com/sports/local-sports/from-firebaugh-to-the-first-round-the-josh-allen-story/1209919558
  7. This thread merging might be preferred by some of your hardcore users and posters, but very discouraging for casual users like myself. I would never know that the Joe B article existed if I hadn't seen it myself (I was about to post it, 26 corner beat me to it). I come in here occasionally to see what is new in Bills news etc, which would include fresh articles. Not going to read through long threads looking for something new.
  8. Also... this Joe B article isn't even an interview... so it doesn't belong in this thread. It is a lengthy analysis of his game film. I agree with others... I came here and stayed because it seemed like a great forum with reasonable moderation. This might make my stay short lived. Just looking for a friendly place to read and discuss. I don't post much, only get on a few times a week (okay maybe more during the season). Having good content buried in long threads is not going to work for me.
  9. It's a shame to merge a thread highlighting a great article that is worth reading into another thread... many posters don't read through all the pages, they might read the first page and skip to the end... that is what I do with long threads to be honest. If you are going to merge like this, maybe create a front page pinned post that allows for new links/content to be added. I have seen some forums do that...
  10. I was just posting this, I guess at the same time as you... good read I thought. I appreciated his look at the accuracy hot topic-
  11. That right there is my biggest concern. I would like to see them bring in someone with a good track record that can coach him.
  12. Good read... thanks for sharing! I like his reference to the team factors and how that contributed to Allen's lower completion %. As he says, Allen is being unfairly blamed for what was a team problem-
  13. Why are people so skeptical of the Pegulas? I see no reason for doubting them, when by all accounts they are good people, and they have stepped up in the community in such a major way. Nevertheless, there are plenty of good background articles out there, here are some from a few years ago- https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/2015/08/23/kim-pegula-making-difference-adopted-hometown/32166573/ http://13wham.com/news/special-reports/kim-pegula “If I ever have more than two nickels to my name, I’m going to buy the Buffalo Sabres one day.” - Terry Pegula 1983 - http://www.yourenergyblog.com/terry-pegula-a-fracking-billionaire/
  14. I posted this the other day, I will add it here- great little video narrated by his mom. Say what you want about his game play (I am optimistic personally), he is a great kid and will fit in great in Buffalo if he succeeds on the field.
  15. Great post... thanks for sharing. I also didn't want Allen, based on the accuracy concerns. I'll admit I didn't look that closely into the concerns, but I just saw it as a red flag. But since the draft, I find myself amazed at how great a fit Allen is, and all the talent he brings to the table. Looking forward to seeing him on the field!
  16. Great backstory video, narrated by his mom, from last fall. Similar stuff to what we are seeing elsewhere, he is a great kid, and perfect fit for the Buffalo culture, both the team and the area. I am looking forward to seeing him grow and develop on the field. He has all the ingredients for a long term star in Buffalo.
  17. I didn't want Allen going in, but the more I read about him and see who he is, I am convinced that he is the best choice for the Bills. He is a high character guy, a leader, and will fit right in with "the process". Here is an article that I enjoyed reading, says a lot about his character and who he is- http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000917395/article/josh-allen-why-drafts-most-intriguing-qb-prospect-might-also-be-the-best
  18. Murphy not a common last name? Really? http://forebears.io/surnames/murphy
  19. Schefter saying that Bradford is intending to sign with AZ
  20. Bradford had a solid year in 2016. Only missed game was game one, because of trade. IF he is cleared injury wise then he would be a great choice for a bridge QB IMO. Set season completion percentage record... imagine having a QB that completes most of his passes?
  21. Yep... that is where the blame should be placed if you ask me. Agent should have been aware of the ramifications and put the brakes on this much sooner.
  22. From what I have read, this is my take. And I would go beyond Wood and point the finger at his agent and those advising him. They should have been able to tell him all the implications of this much earlier than right before the press conference.
  23. I had some difficulty finding it at first so I thought I would share it here for others- https://wchobfdn-3830.wedid.it/ Prayers going out for Eric and his family for a full recovery and healthy, long life.
