  1. It was a homerun swing and a miss... but I am glad they took the swing. As has already been elaborated many times, the cost was minimal and the potential was incredible. Though they missed this time, I am glad to have management that is taking measured risks, within the framework of a clear plan.
  2. Sounds like he brought his attitude with him... It was worth the shot... if he had worked out, everyone would be celebrating the deal.
  3. Good read... building the foundation the right way. Just what we need...
  4. I am torn... I voted no, then I changed to yes, and I think I will stick with that. Here's the thing about what happened yesterday... have we forgotten how Nate handled relentless pressure? Our line is bad.. yes that's true, but yesterday was worse because of the intentional cycling of players at positions that they aren't normally in. In some cases Allen had 1 sec before he was hit. No one can perform under that kind of failure to protect. A part of me is wondering if the coaches did this to see how he would respond to adverse conditions. Other than the one throw that should have been intercepted, he didn't make many mistakes. I believe with Shady on the field, and a stable (albeit poor) O-line, I say start Allen.
  5. And I am turning off the game... no need to watch the rest...
  6. for those who missed it... or just want to watch it over and over again...
  7. Wow... something special is cooking here in WNY. Building a winning culture the right way. I am all in on the process.
  8. Still no proof... going for the money.
  9. Can we get the title of this thread updated to reflect Shefty's correction of his own erroneous report?
  10. Schefter - correcting his own report...
  11. Turns out Horrible Harry was a long snapper in HS... https://journalstar.com/sports/high-school/football/super-state-2013/super-state-football-extra-effort-pays-dividends-for-phillips-strong/article_7a988fff-3bda-5b32-90e2-04505927ec28.html
  12. I agree... it will be interesting to see how he fits. Having the team culture in place, he could come in and embrace the culture and thrive which would be a huge win. Or if he comes in and doesn't fit, then we haven't lost much. I did some looking back at some old stories on his past, looks like he had a rough upbringing, but has some elements that could see him embracing the team culture here. https://www.ohio.com/akron/writers/browns-rookie-wide-receiver-corey-coleman-rose-from-violent-streets-forgave-imprisoned-father-on-inspirational-journey-to-nfl He has a strong connection with NFL vet Ray Crockett who seems to be a good character influence IMO.
  13. I just listened to the interview, he said exactly what he should have said. Basically like what some have referenced above here, he is focusing on the big picture and being the best QB he can be. This attitude and the way he responds will serve him well.
  14. Here is a new local news story from central valley, recapping Josh's story. Not really any new info, but several interviews with some key people in his story. http://www.yourcentralvalley.com/sports/local-sports/from-firebaugh-to-the-first-round-the-josh-allen-story/1209919558
  15. This thread merging might be preferred by some of your hardcore users and posters, but very discouraging for casual users like myself. I would never know that the Joe B article existed if I hadn't seen it myself (I was about to post it, 26 corner beat me to it). I come in here occasionally to see what is new in Bills news etc, which would include fresh articles. Not going to read through long threads looking for something new.
  16. Also... this Joe B article isn't even an interview... so it doesn't belong in this thread. It is a lengthy analysis of his game film. I agree with others... I came here and stayed because it seemed like a great forum with reasonable moderation. This might make my stay short lived. Just looking for a friendly place to read and discuss. I don't post much, only get on a few times a week (okay maybe more during the season). Having good content buried in long threads is not going to work for me.
  17. It's a shame to merge a thread highlighting a great article that is worth reading into another thread... many posters don't read through all the pages, they might read the first page and skip to the end... that is what I do with long threads to be honest. If you are going to merge like this, maybe create a front page pinned post that allows for new links/content to be added. I have seen some forums do that...
