  1. He has a lot to learn... but this year is going to have a lot of "teachable moments" for both him and Allen.
  2. He looked like a rookie out there... but man he showed some flashes of what he can become with time and reps... he has a fire in him that you can't coach or teach. Better days are ahead as we build the core around him.
  3. seems like there's interest... not expecting that Bills are one of them though...
  4. Lots of panic flying around this week... I agree with you, as I have said in other threads. The sky is not falling, we actually have management that is building something for the future, instead of just patching things together as they go. It looks different than what we are used to around here. Josh will make mistakes, but he will grow through them, and with the attributes we have already seen him show, I believe he has the elements of a bright future.
  5. Yes... this is how I see it too. Going to be a rough year, but the foundation is being laid for a sustained run of success. McBeane is following a clear plan that is becoming more and more obvious. I would rather have a year like we are looking at this year and follow it with several years of winning than have 17 years of close but not close enough. The sky is not falling... Of course we need things to work out with Allen... he is a linchpin in this strategy. In today's NFL, building a nucleus of young players on rookie contracts is the way to go.
  6. They are going all in on the build around a young QB strategy, and they are doing it right IMO. This year will be painful, but future years should reap benefits from this year's pain. A lot of the future hinges on Josh of course. Here is a good read on how the Cowboys did it all wrong and have not been able to spend around Dak.... http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24653201/how-dallas-cowboys-wasting-dak-prescott-rookie-deal-salary-cap-nfl-2018 We do not want to be them! McBeane has been making moves that clearly line up with this strategy, we are essentially only starting year two. Next year we should start to see evidence of the next phase- building out and spending around our developing young QB. Those who say that coaching/management are clueless... I think it is just too early to say that. Patience... If Allen works out, then I believe we will be contending for many years to come.
  7. True... I have resigned myself to a miserable year this year, which means we will see lots of "sky is falling" chicken little's around here. That is not to say that all criticism is unwarranted. McBeane shouldn't get a free pass entirely, but I am of the mind that a year from now is when they should really start to be held to account. Right now they are still laying the foundation, which includes digging out the old to make way for the new, painful and ugly work. A year from now we should be seeing the above ground product that can and should be critiqued.
  8. This pretty much says my point of view...
  9. Yeah me too... started Marvin over Randall. Sigh... And I also had Baldwin
  10. Darnold looks good... but also he has receivers helping him look good.
  11. Do we see Allen for some in game experience if things are out of hand in the second half??
  12. Good stuff... I will admit that I am an optimist/homer... but this team is going to surprise people. Both this year, and in the years to come.
  13. Joe B's take-
