  1. Everyone is getting it vaccinated or not...don't hate Cole because he made a personal choice...life is bigger then football people. The NFL is rigged these days anyway when they legalized gambling if you haven't noticed...its like watching the WWE...yes they hit and put on a show but the outcome is already decided before the opening kickoff.
  2. And yet we drafted Boogie Basham instead of Creed Humphrey (a pro bowler and possible all pro as a rookie) in the second round. If we went back and drafted Creed we would have a solid O-line right now and not one with questions going into week 14.
  3. I will give you my assessment and take it for what it is worth...and I like Sean McD but i think when it comes to Belichick he is obsessed with beating him at his own game and I don't know why. I was doing some analysis of the box scores and just broke down Pass vs Run plays... I just broke down the Pats games just to see what happened. The two games that were close 2020 week 8 and 2021 week 13 were very similar when you look at Pass vs Run and the score remained close throughout. Now during week 16 in 2020 when we blew out the Pats I found that the score stayed close going midway through the second quarter at 10-10 but the then Bills scored TD's on back to back drives making it 24-10 at the half. During the Week 16 matchup the Bills threw the ball 30 times in the first half and ran the ball 12. They opened up the third quarter with 13 passes to 6 runs and lead going into the forth 31-10 which the games was over at that point but they score another TD early in the forth then benched the starters game over 38-10. so When it counted the Bills threw the ball 43 times vs 18 runs. I think the Pats have big men to play a big game but when the Bills had all those guys the LB's, DB's, and linemen running all over the field (sure it was tight in the middle of the second) but i think they all got winded. In the two close games 2020 Wk 8 first half 13 Pass vs 15 run and for the game 19 Pass vs 35 run (almost opposite of the blow out). On Monday night it was 12 Pass vs 14 run in the first half and 33 pass vs 21 run for the game. So my question to McD is why didn't you come out throwing the ball and let Josh do his thing wear out the D early in the game and us the running game as fodder instead you played the Patriots way and tried to beat Belichick at his own game and lost. Make him play your game....throw the ball. Sorry guys that was kind of long winded. Last year we threw to set up the run and this year it seems like we are doing it opposite of what works. Doesn't the old saying go "Don't fix it if it ain't broke"
  4. I think it is the big nasty's on the O-line. If our O-line can hold up and protect Josh and make holes for our RB's then we win hands down. The Pats offense doesn't scare me and they aren't going to get 4 turnovers a game....it just doesn't hold up.
  5. If this happens that is one SB Sunday I will not watch....not even a little bit. I didn't watch their rematch earlier this year. Plus if that happens Vegas is all over that one and the reason for it. To me games seemed a little fixed this year since they legalized gambling IMO.
  6. On Offense: We need to have the calm JA17 who does not push the ball down field and takes what the D gives him and let his playmakers do the work. I think we should play a lot of 10 and 11 personnel sets and run the ball off those formations. Two go long and medium and leave a couple short range every play early. I think we should throw deep a couple times early even if the play isn't there and Josh throws it deep out of bounds intentionally I think that will scare the Pats into thinking we are scared to go deep. Then use the short passing game underneath crossing routs and sit in the zone reads to drive down the field. I don't think we throw the ball enough to scare anyone from the other formations (i.e. 1 back and 2 TEs) 9 times out of 10 we are running the ball out of that formation. I also think Knox and Beasley are a mismatch for anyone they can throw at them expect CB1 and maybe CB2 on the Pats and I think those two will have a field day. On Defense: Its tough without Tre but I don't see the Bills D doing anything different. I would like to see the D-line get their hands up more this game since Mac likes to throw short I think we can knock a couple balls down with the length we have on the line. I also think the defenders need to exaggerate with they are getting held and unable to get their hands up because of it. I think Ed Oliver needs to have a big game...the last month Ed has been on a tear but it doesn't show up on the stat sheet. He is getting a lot of penetration up the middle making QB's scramble left or right and into the arms of Madison, Hughes, and others. Even if it doesn't result in a sack the QB is flustered and it totally disrupts their timing. And to be honest our Lines both of them need to man up and not play scared. I don't understand what happened its not like we changed personnel and last year especially on D late in the season they played mean, we need that for the rest of the year. Maybe losing Tre as crappy as this may sound, maybe the D will play as a unit with a chip on their shoulder with something to prove that Tre is 1/11 on Defense and not the whole D. I believe in our boys, and this is the game that will put them back on the mat and in total control of the division. One last thing I said this in a thread last night...this game reminds me of the 49er's game on Monday night last year. The game before the 9er's game Josh had a bad week against LAC and only threw for like 165 yards give or take (not his best) then he went on a tear to finish the season starting on Monday Night. Hopefully history repeats itself. Message for JOSH....take what the D gives you and lets roll...yes everyone likes a big play here and there and you are sure capable of doing it...but winning is more fun at the end of the day. Just win Baby!!!
  7. I agree with you to a point and yes all the games listed above were towards the end of the year starting with SF was on a Monday night 12/7/20 pretty similar to this game 12/6/21 and that SF game is the game that set the tone for the rest of the year. Josh went off J. Allen (BUF), 40-32-375, 0 INT, 4 TD hopefully he will have a similar stat line this Monday night (the most important is 0 INT) and that was against a pretty good defense. As for my thoughts I think this year feels different because we haven't stacked wins even when Josh isn't playing his best we aren't winning like last year. I mean the first time we played the Patriots last year in BUF Josh didn't have a great game J. Allen (BUF), 18-11-154, 1 INT, 0 TD Nor did Josh have a great game against the Chargers J. Allen (BUF), 24-18-157, 1 INT, 1 TD Both games the Bills won. They haven't been able to do that this year...win when Josh plays bad. If they had two more wins I.e. Pitt and Jax this conversation would be totally different.
  8. I don't think Henry was that bad on us what he had 146 yards rushing with 76 of them on one run where you can make a point that three of our guys were getting held. So Taylor doesn't scare me until he does. For this I don't understand the Bills philosophy...they preach next man up...but then when one of our O-line men are out they switch up the whole line no matter how long you have been in the game the mental part is important and the muscle memory is too. When you practice one way all training camp and get in a grove then the coaches tell you to switch spots it hasn't been working for the Bills. So my idea is...if the Bills really are set on the phrase "next man up" then leave the four that played last week as is (Dawkins, Boettger, Morris, Williams) and put either Bates or Doyle in at RT and give them some help with the TE or RB to help with blocking if need be. I mean Doyle is our Swing Tackle is he not so let him play. If the Bills did this I wouldn't be so worried about the Right side of the line. If they keep switching guys around on the line then I have a problem....I really think that is what messed Ford up, not that I am a fan of his, but I never thought he got a fare shake. I know some positions you can mix and match players but the O-line is not one of them. As for my "biggest impact" player this week.... Defense is going to be Oliver I don't think you will see it on the stat sheet but I think he will cause JT to adjust and run into our coverage....and I think Oliver will get in the back field on passing downs doing the same thing cause a couple of turnovers. I also think Harry will play a big part in this as well if Star can go. Offense i think it is going to be Davis, I think he is due for a big game. I also hope our RB's can hold on to the ball this week Singletary and Matt both coughed it up last week which scares me since the Colts defense causes a lot of TO as well.
  9. For me I want to see the Bills come back in the second half of a game down by 14 or more points and come away with the W. We have either been blowing out teams or the games have been close throughout. I want to see what Tom Brady has done in all his winning years, and what Mahomes and the Chiefs did on a regular basis through their two super bowl runs (even in the playoffs the year they won it all). I haven't see this team do that. I have seen JA drive down the field a few time and put points on the board for the win in the 4th quarter, but that was only one drive. I want to see the whole package, JA and our offense stop playing around and put together consistent drives while they are down and the game is in limbo...also i want to see our Defense stop teams that have been rolling over them in crucial points in the game where we need them to step up and make a play. Thoughts....
  10. why can't the Bills line up Tommy Doyle (or one of the other o linemen) at TE? Using an extra linemen should help out in the run blocking you would think. You can also line him up on the side of the line where the better pass rushers are coming from for extra help.
  11. I looked into the numbers for fun to see what was happening looking into the top 4 Receivers from 2020 (Davis, Beasley, Diggs, and Brown) and compared them to this years group of (Davis, Beasley, Diggs, and Sanders) I left out the TE Knox because it has been pretty consistent especially since Knox has been healthy all year so far. Below are the totals through week 6 in 2020 and 2021: 2020 2021 Rec/Yards/Tgts Rec/Yards/Tgts Davis 14/194/18 6/104/10 Beasley 28/358/37 33/301/43 Diggs 42/555/59 37/463/58 Brown/Sanders 14/194/27 24/413/39 I don't know who is complaining our receivers are getting about the same amount of balls thrown their way at this point last year. I think Beasley had more yards because Brown missed one game and didn't have a catch in two more. Davis is not getting his because his numbers were probably inflated at this point because he played more in two games where Brown was MIA/hurt. Diggs is where he should be (maybe a few more yards would be nice but he is getting his looks) and if Brown stayed healthy all last year he would probably be right where Sanders is this year. I like Sanders in this offense better only because he seems to be in the lineup every week (knock on wood). I would like to have seen Davis develop more but to me receivers normally take about 3 years to develop although there is some exceptions to that rule. I think Davis isn't see as much playing time this year 1. Sanders is healthy and Brown was not 2. limit the chance of Davis getting hurt in case one of the other three goes down (they say he can play all three positions) and 3. Maybe he just isn't there yet. My bigger concern is we need to start developing some receivers through the draft and Davis is the only one that seems promising. We will lose Beasley and Sanders probably next year and I my eyes we haven't been able to draft and develop a receiver yet. I.e. Robert Foster showed promise in his first year then nothing....
  12. Watson will be QB of the inmates team playing against the Guards when all is said and done. Maybe he can shave his prison sentence off some if he beats the Guards too.
  13. To me the turning point in the game was in the forth quarter after the Titans kicked a FG which made the score BUF 31 TENN 27. At that point the Bills were in control and poor play calling and decisions by Allen were our heal. The Bills got the ball and after a first down to Diggs it set up a 1st and 10 at the Bills 37 yard line with 8:59 left on the game clock. Now at this point in the game with a 4 point lead a FG drive would have worked but a TD would have put it away. Instead what do the Bills do. On first down Allen was trying to go deep but instead gets sacks for a 7 yard loss (he did have Sweeney wide open to his right side which probably would have been a 6 to 8 yard gain on 1st down instead it was 2nd and 17). On second down with 8:38 left in the game Allen goes deep again and throws into double coverage for Sanders in the middle of the field luckily it feel incomplete. On 3rd and 17 with 8:14 left on the clock we had to go deep and Allen threw it out of bounds to Jake. At that point we still had the lead but it felt to me like we loss the game. Unlike our drive last week against the Chiefs in a similar situation we had a great time consuming drive to win the game. I don't know how we could have corrected that..and I am not mad at Josh...I love that dude...he is must see TV when he is playing. And I like what McDermott called at the end of the game by not going for the FG and putting it on the line but the Bills had three time outs going into the start of that drive. I don't know who manages the TO's and I hope JA has some say in when they can take some after surveying the field but at that point maybe a TO could have been useful to clear the head and make sure everyone was on the right page first downs move the ball down field. The Titans weren't going to let us beat them deep and the underneath stuff was there that drive and I don't know why the Bills were trying to beat them with a long ball when the short passes with about 6 first downs moving down the field would have even taken the winds out of their sails also. Sorry for the long write up.
  14. The Ravens are no lock...have you seen their schedule they still have to play everyone in their division twice (Ciny, Browns, Pitt) that could be two maybe three losses there they have the Rams and Packers so to say they are a lock is crazy. The Bills are more of a lock then they are. Remember last year we had the same record at this point so I am not worried.
  15. I don't agree with your logic either. When he first got hired it was before Bean was hired and McD's first draft pick was Tre White All-Pro player. And then Bean gutted this team before the season and I thought along with a lot of other people that the Bills were in tank mode...but low and behold they made the playoffs largely in part due to McD's approach to the game and establishing his culture "The Process" for the future. In McD's first draft without a GM he picked up Tre, Dion, and Milano great draft. His second draft and Bean's first was JA and Edmonds and I am not going to talk about the draft. Our Defense which you reference above has been very good under McD not lights out but very good and consistent. I do wish we caused more turnovers and last year int he beginning was not so great but come playoff time they shined. And like and QB confidence is fragile in the beginning and I don't think they planned on throwing JA in there during his first NFL game but he had to. And it was because of coaching and sticking to him that his confidence grew and he became the player he is today. This team they built doesn't not have many superstars on it like all the patriot teams did with Brady and Belicheat but we have a lot of solid NFL players who play for one another and that is also good coaching and leadership. I think McD is a great coach and will be for years to come.
  16. It wouldn't surprise me if he still has a nagging injury from camp...he hurt his knee in the pre-season game over the Bears and has only been active in week 1 ( I think because Star was hurt also and might have been a worse injury the Harry's) and last week but I still don't think he is 100% and is probably nursing his return. If i remember correctly i think the Bills were talking about putting him on IR to open the season.
  17. So who is going to be your unsung stud for this Sunday nights game? On Defense for me it is going to be Star Lotulelei. I am saying this because based on last year's regular season game and looking forward to this years regular season game which will be played in similar conditions...I think last year the Bills had a solid game plan to beat the Chiefs during the regular season in which most of the chiefs yards came on the ground without Star. If we use the same game plan this year... yes the Cheif's will get their yards but not as many and I don't know if you have noticed with Star back he seems to raise the level of everyone on the line and the LB's (i.e. Ed and the DE's and Edmonds is playing way better because star commands a double team). So I am saying Star because everyone else up front will improve because of him. And on Offense I really think it is going to be Dawson Knox. Yes Knox is having a fine year in the red zone but I feel he is going to bust out a 6-7 catch 100 yard game with a TD or two in the near future. It also might be Gabe Davis who has been sitting back this year for some reason (I think it is because he has been hurt) but I feel he is almost an afterthought at this point. But I am really going with Knox...I mean he did go to TE University in which Kelsey was one of the main guys their teaching the younger folk...It would be nice to show Kelsey what he was a part of creating a great TE for his rival. I am sorry if someone has already made a thread like this but I looked through the topic base for the past week and have not found one related.
  18. I agree with that what was Boogie supposed to do...the QB threw the ball when Boogie was a half a step away...how is the man supposed to hold up plus he didn't drive him into the ground he held his hands out when he feel on him...BS call.
  19. Agree and it seemed to me like he was pushed into the QB and the QB deserves and Emmy for his acting....playing like he was all hurt them comes right back in.
  20. They have some or at least one in Austin Texas....If they can get it there they should be able to bring it to Buffalo!!!
  21. I don't see us keeping three QB's on active roster unless Fromm can play ST. Plus I bet Beane trades more then just one player before the regular season. Sometimes you have to trade guys to be fair to them as well...give them a shot where they might fit in and sticking them on the practice squad isn't going to do that for them...(i.e. W. Teller). I could see Beane trading: Ford or Lamp (agree) but a Ike Boettger (if Anderson is a serviceable back up) because you will get more for Boettger in a trade and Anderson can play all the same spots on the line that Boettger did (center, or either guard spot) Hodgins/Wade/Williams one of those guys are going to take the spot that Fromm occupies and it wouldn't surprise me if we can trade Williams or Hodgins befor it is all over too. Next year's draft class is stacked from what i am reading due to COVID hold outs so lets stack picks next year so we can move around to board to get our guys.
  22. A few months ago nobody was paying attention to the board...now we are in football mode....lol
