  1. Is it really finger pointing when you don't name a position group, let alone an individual player? Every part of his statement is about "we". Not "they" and not any individuals. Maybe he should've said something about "and it starts with *me*" or "*I* need to play better". Personally I find those empty platitudes to be boring and cliche. "We had so many mental errors and mistakes," Rodgers said Tuesday. "It's not the kind of football we're used to playing over the years. There have definitely been seasons where we average four or five, six, maybe seven at the most, kind of mental errors or missed assignments per week. Some weeks you have like four, two sometimes. This season there's a lot more of that every single week. It's double digits every single week. Even on the game, we had like 50 plays or something -- there wasn't a ton of plays, they had 37 minutes time of possession -- a lot of mistakes." Rodgers said on Tuesday it's on the players, not coaches, to take ownership of the team's struggles. "I think when the players really take over, then you're going to see the possibility of us making a run," he said. "I'm not talking about the players usurping power from coaches. I'm talking about we take over. We take ownership of what we're putting on the field. Now, some of that might be in the plan. Some of that might be, hey, 'I really want to do this,' offense, defense, (special) teams, whatever it might be. But the other part is taking ownership of your daily habits and your routines. Just cause we're a young team, we just can't write that off as, 'Oh, we're figuring it out. The rookies are figuring this thing out. Are they gonna go through that rookie wall?' And blah, blah, blah. ... "We need everybody on the same page to make the plays that are possible. We need them Monday to Saturday to put in the time to be ready to play Sunday. Because there's too many times in the game where there's simple, simple things just are not being accomplished." "Guys who are making too many mistakes shouldn't be playing, you know. Gotta start cutting some reps, and maybe guys who aren't playing, give them a chance," he said.
  2. I know it's in vogue to criticize A A Ron, but I think what he said here is fine. Constructive criticism can be a good thing. Do you want all your leaders to blow smoke up your ass and tell you that you're doing a great job when you're clearly not?
  3. Counterpoint: Brian Daboll He had a long history of being a bad OC until Allen started playing at an MVP level. Now he's doing well as Giants HC (although I'm a bit skeptical of their 6-1 record).
  4. I would've liked to trade for CMC, but this is absolutely way too much. If I was Beane I wouldn't have offered even half of that. It's basically a half year rental and then hope he re-negotiates to a more cap friendly deal.
  5. What did Jerry Jone's feet ever do to you?
  6. Allen was a late bloomer physically and while in high school did not focus on football. He also had some injuries in college that limited playing time. Comparable: Carson Wentz is the best I can come up with off the top of my head, but only if we're looking at 2016-2019. Wentz play fell off a cliff starting in 2020
  7. That's a good find - I had forgotten about that play. Milano might've misjudged where the sideline was? Pretty bad mistake by him Turned what should've been a ~3yard gain into 13 yards.
  8. On the defensive side Edmunds seems too high - I thought he was fine. Not bad, but not 3rd best defender either Milano is too low - he stood out in a good way with a strong game Neal is too low - he had a bad game and deserves bottom 5, but a 22 is overkill On the offensive side Mckenzie is too high - my guy had a disaster of a game. Responsible for taking at least 10 points off the board How is Sweeney in the top 3 ? I never noticed him (which I'll admit is a good thing when he's blocking).
  9. I feel like bumping some old Lotulelei threads with people saying "Even though he doesn't show up on the stat sheet he's an important part of the defense. He gets double teamed sometimes!" His contract was an overpay from day 1. He might not have been as terrible a player as some posters on here said, but he was never better than league average. Opting out of 2020 because of COVID and then choosing to not get vaccinated still blows my mind. 🤮
  10. I think it says a lot about Mac that he's getting outplayed by a 4th round rookie
  11. The Jets and Dolphins both have great rosters, but not great QB's. I don't think Wilson or Tua will ever be elite, but Wilson has a higher chance of making it happen. Pretty easy to see either of those teams winning ~10 games. The Patriots are bad on offense, but have a great coach, and pretty good DEF. They feel more like an ~8 win team. Mac Jones has the lowest ceiling of any of the AFCE QBs.
  12. This is 100% an obvious and egregious penalty in slow-mo replay, but I have to admit.... I did not realize this was a trip when it happened in real time. I can understand how the ref missed it. Missed penalties really need to be included in the "eye in the sky" review process.
  13. Calvin Johnson has the record with 1,964 receiving yards in a season - and he did it in 16 games!
  14. And some are wrong. How is it the Chiefs "A" game when you turn the ball over twice at critical moments ?
  15. 2 Red Zone turnovers (one fumble and once on downs) would have cost us the game if Chiefs were playing at their best. Both teams played well, but definitely missed on some plays. "B" grade is fair
  16. Richardson wasn't forced to sell though. He voluntarily chose to sell after the bombshell report came out. You could say he was forced by the court of public opinion, but there was never an actual vote on it by the other owners. Snyder doesn't care about the court of public opinion and isn't going to sell the team gracefully to sail into retirement. He's only going to sell if the other owners have a vote and force him out.
  17. How quickly we forget how the refs looked in a game we won handily. The regular season game last year in KC had refball on full display. Numerous bad (and at critical times) penalties throughout the day. Bills finished with 10 penalties 103 yards. Chiefs 7 for 55 This 2 play stretch happened in the 4th Q 3rd & 9 at BUF 16 (12:13 - 4th) (Shotgun) J.Allen right end pushed ob at BUF 26 for 10 yards (J.Thornhill). PENALTY on BUF-M.Morse, Offensive Holding, 8 yards, enforced at BUF 16 - No Play. 3rd & 17 at BUF 8 (11:50 - 4th) (Shotgun) J.Allen pass deep middle intended for S.Diggs INTERCEPTED by R.Fenton at KC 41. R.Fenton to KC 41 for no gain (S.Diggs). PENALTY on KC-F.Clark, Roughing the Passer, 15 yards, enforced at BUF 8 - No Play. The holding on Morse was 100% a phantom call that wiped out a 3rd and 9 conversion. The very next play was a dubious RTP on Chiefs that wiped out an INT. I'll agree in the playoff game the refs were a non-factor. 4 penalties total between the 2 teams and I don't remember bad missed calls.
  18. Whiplash and concussion from a shove, stumbling, and falling like that?
  19. Reminds me a little bit of this:
  20. I was wondering WTF the cameraguy was doing over there. The guy was completely oblivious and collided with Adams (who was walking in a straight line into the tunnel). Still, as you said, that's a really bad reaction from Adams. Probably worth a game suspension and definitely worth a big fine
  21. Darnold is expected to miss another few weeks with his own injury (also a high ankle sprain) The Panthers are going to be starting PJ Walker 🤣
  22. At the time I think the general consensus was that the Bears were idiots for trading up. Why move from #3 to #2 for a QB that wasn't viewed as generational ? In hindsight.... holy cow. Has to be on a very short list of worst GM decisions ever. Trading UP for Trubisky when you could've stayed pat (or even moved down a few slots) and selected Mahomes or Watson
  23. Trubisky was drafted #2 overall - the Bills never had an opportunity to draft him.
  24. Josh Allen's cap hit is going from 16mm this year to 40mm next year. There are going to be cap casualties. I appreciate that Edmunds has stepped up his game this season (so far) but I just don't see it working out cap wise next year. You can always play cap shenanigans, but I don't think it's wise to do so for him. The only way I can see keeping him if he signs at a large discount and exceptionally cap friendly deal.
