  1. Agreed. Everyone seems to have these grandiose plans about what they would do, but never have realistic options to go with them. “I want a #2wr like the Phins or Bengals.” Okay, so would everyone on the boards. Draft? No, they were taken. Free agents? No, we didn’t have that kind of money to spend. Bills obviously agreed with all the smoke around Hopkins. They tried. So where does that leave us? Talking about how we’d like to have a really good #2? How is that interesting?
  2. This might be the silliest thing I’ve ever read. If he’s playing lights out and we’re battling for first in the afc or another division title you think they trade him? Ridiculous. Not to mention if he is playing insanely the contract he’d receive would be a good one and we’d get more in comps than what he’d get in trade. This literally makes zero sense. If he plays poorly, no one would trade for him. If he’s playing great, we wouldn’t create a hole in the D.
  3. I’m just going to go ahead and say it. Don’t care.
  4. It wouldn’t matter even if he did change. People grow. Josh is a millionaire that can fully express himself in anyway he sees fit. When he was a young pup he probably didn’t have the confidence to let those peacock feathers fly. Not to mention, he’s surrounded by other millionaires that are doing these same exact things. That’s also part of growing. When we did it we didn’t have cameras in our faces 24/7. He’s finding out who he is, and sometimes that means wearing a creamsicle suit to the same function your ex-girlfriend is looking for the next daddy warbucks. That might end up being more Cam Newton than (Insert man’s man, blue collar hero), and that is perfectly fine. I think he’s going through a big time break-up and he’s trying some things out. Most people do that in the form of a nose-piercing, but then again most people don’t have his bank account. Most people forget he’s still more kid than fully formed adult right now. I’d love to see what the people judging him were up to at 26 years old.
  5. I’m fine with it. All this will do is give him a taste of the big time. You know how you get to the bigs full-time? You win a Super Bowl. We get a Lombardi, he gets a hosting gig on snl. Win-win.
  6. Of course. But that doesn’t stop the world from happening. Having gang rape attached to everything you do for an entire season is a big deal when you’re trying for your first Super Bowl championship. It was a big distraction for a punter.
  7. Heckuva fiery first post! Are you friends with Matthew?
  8. Whether it’s fair or not, every single Bills article and social media post had the words Buffalo Bills and gang rape attached to it. They were also getting a LOT of pressure from the world, and I’m assuming the NFL to make a move. They had to do what was best for the team, and unfortunately that meant parting ways. This is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t scenario, and the reason many teams took him off their boards for the draft.
  9. I could quibble a bit here, but fact is, the Bills have the most exciting qb in the league. Being anywhere close to top 5 was dream potential in the 20 year drought. So I’ll just take it and look forward to next season. With that said, If it was my list he’s #2 and it not just the homer in me. There’s not one thing that Burrow and Hurts can do that Allen can’t, the same cannot be said for them.
  10. Earn points? I don’t even know what that means. So… nope. I will explain this ONE last time. When they said they envisioned Williams as an olb I thought that was strange, and naturally as a fan of the team, I tried figuring out what the plan was. You guys act like this was such a silly thought, but firstly it’s the offseason, and secondly this thread did go to 10 pages and over 5,000 views with lots of interesting thoughts and opinions added. So not everyone thought it was ridiculous. Shaw eventually posted that he heard on Rome that they do see Williams playing mlb eventually and that was that. I will ask you what I’ve asked a few others, can you please drop a link of your last offseason thread so I can see an example of what you consider acceptable? For the record, you brought this back, it was pretty much done. No one had commented in 12 hours, so… kinda conflicting behavior, no? You think it’s ridiculous so you search it out and bump it a half day after it disappears? Seems odd. Care to explain, Herb? Also, does making threads earn you points?
  11. This isn’t just the Homer part of me, I think Thurman would be excellent in this offense. Faulk too, I think he’s even said once if he was a Bill during that time they would’ve won a Super Bowl. Though maybe I’m misremembering, I do definitely remember him saying he would’ve loved to play in that offense.
  12. Cool opinion. Can you send me a link of your last thread? I’d like an example of what is an acceptable conversation in the offseason.
  13. Maybe read the thread? All of your day late questions will be answered.
  14. This thread was kind of put to bed yesterday when Beane said on Rome that he does expect Williams to play mlb eventually. Feel free to continue discussing but this thought was mostly brought on because originally it sounded to me that they envisioned him playing olb. Sounds like that’s just where they want him to start to learn the system and bring him along slowly. I’m personally hoping he wins the gig in training camp and never relinquishes the spot.
  15. Woah, you’re the first one that said anything about the “hear me out!” You should take that act on the road, how many episodes of Seinfeld did you have to watch to get so funny?
  16. I mean, there’s been eight pages of conversation, but sure just stop In and respond to the title. Not annoying at all.
  17. Hmm… I’m not opposed to this. If we brought him in we would’ve obviously gotten Josh’s approval. He wouldn’t say yes to a guy that would get him creamed. It’s wild to say but considering our depth (weird), on the line, he could even sit for a while and get himself to 100%
  18. That actually makes a lot of sense. A rookie already feels tons of pressure. A third round pick doesn’t need the added pressure of feeling like they’re the instant replacement for a five year starter at a very important position on a team with Super Bowl aspirations. I agree it could have been done better, but it’s pretty tricky trying to walk the media tightrope of giving just enough.
  19. Oh nice! That actually makes me feel a lot better about the situation. I do wonder why they couldn’t have said that earlier. I mean, you draft a mlb and you have a need at mlb. Seems like it could’ve been pretty easy to say, you drafted him to be a mlb but plan to take it slowly.
  20. Oh no! Please don’t go, I’d hate for the thread to lose a wordsmith such as yourself. Do you always call fellow Bills fans names or is this a new thing you’re trying out? I feel like if this conversation was in person you wouldn’t feel so empowered to call anyone names.
  21. I don’t believe for a second they’d tell us that. Because it would leave him open to criticism if he didn’t have the job come September.
  22. As I’ve said, I respond in kind. That will not change. And I’ve already responded to him if you’d actually pay attention, It’s only his opinion that Milano couldnt bring that level of play to the mlb spot. I feel differently. He’s already the mouthpiece of the D, he’s excellent in coverage, and has great instincts. Im not going to battle over whose opinion is right or wrong, that’s obviously a losing battle for both sides. Have you noticed there’s an actual conversation happening here, or do you only read your own posts? Much like the Goonies of Astoria, this thread will NEVER die!
  23. I feel like that’s the second time you’ve posted that now. Anything else to add, or did you just want to write it out again? And again, who’s to say he’d be less effective? What if, and this is a big what if, but what if he was MORE effective?!
