  1. The officials really botched that call. They misinterpreted the rule. If a players MEANS to down the ball, he doesnt have to actually down it. Thats the correct interpretation.
  2. Josh is currently doing a commercial for NFL network. I think it pretty well done.
  3. Yeah, I'm a PSU fan as well. But Maybin was a terrible pick. I had a wager that he wouldn't go before the 3rd round. But he was an especially bad pick for the Bills, a 4-3 team. Maybin weighed 225 lbs at the end of the season. But by all accounts, he's a good guy. Just wasn't committed to football.
  4. Same thing happened to a guy on the Texans in a playoff game.
  5. There is quite a bit of misinformation on D1 college football in this thread. Here is the deal. In the off season, typically beginning in January players start (resume) rigorous strength and conditioning. These are under the supervision of the S&C staff. They aren't permitted to do football specific drills. In march or so, there is spring football. These are typical football practices although there are limits to the number of practices (15) and practices in pads. The last of these 15 practices is usually an intrasquad scrimmage played before packed stadiums (except at Pitt). There are no games against other teams. After spring football, the S&C resumes, again, no football drills, no contact at these workouts between coaches and players. Only the S&C staff. In the summer, it's more of the same, except players often get together for informal throw and catch sessions. Ocassiionly a coach may accidentally bump into the players at these informal, player led sessions. Then in August preseason practice begins. It's much like NFL preseason practice with strict limits on number of practices and practices with pads. There are no preseason games against other teams, although the major D1 (aka Power 5) often schedule early season games against lesser teams ("cupcakes") which serve as de facto preseason games. Hope this helps.
  6. I'm guessing that most NFL players are the wrong gender for carnal tunnel injuries.
  7. I think that Daquan Jones from Tennessee could be the answer. I dont understand why he's still a FA. Maybe he wants too much $$$. But based on what i saw last season, hes a very serviceable 1T DT.
  8. Hmm... let’s see. he had a 20-20 record with zero playoff appearances after his return from dogfighting. id say that qualifies as ineffective. maybe that’s effective in your book. A judgement call I guess.
  9. Let’s face it. Vick wasn’t an effective football player after the dog fighting charges and conviction.
  10. Results for PSU DE Oweh, Toney, and LB Parsons. Additional notes: PSU 40 times for Oweh and Parsons a bit faster. 4.36 and 4.39 Shaka Toney 40 4.51, vert 39.5. These three guys are all incredibly explosive athletes. Oweh broad jump of 134 inches is best ever for a DL.
  11. It's not 1/3 of the game. Thats like saying Canada has 1/3 the population of North America.
  12. Lol. Small and skinny? Look at the guys quads. He's reported to squat 600 lbs.
  13. Rondale Moore isn't like that skinny guy from Da U who was always injured. Moore squats 600 lbs. https://primetimesportstalk.com/2020/12/31/2021-nfl-draft-scouting-report-rondale-moore/
  14. I don’t believe his cap number has been announced, but it won’t be $11 million. They will give a bonus of $10-15 milliiin and back loads salaries. I’d guess his cap number for next year will come in at about $7 million.
  15. 1). Don't think he's a good match for Bills 4-3 D. I think Milano is far better for what this D. Wants to do. 2). I think your math iis off. A sack is,by definition,a tackle for loss.
  16. Hmmm..., let's see. NFL salary cap is about 50% of total revenues. So total NFL revenues were about $360 million per team in a year where few, if any fans attended games. Money from stadium attendance is a drop in the bucket compared to TV and seat licenses. And consider hassle of flying to Germany or England, and playing a game in Oklahoma or Alabama seems like a pretty good idea to me.
  17. Seriously? this must be sarcasm, but I don't see the sarcasm font. This is truly ludacris. Bills need edge rusher, CB, probably OLB, OL. Also a truly speedy WR would be good. and you think they should trade draft resources to go up and draft a backup QB????? This is a win now team. If Allen is out they don't win the super bowl. So you maximize the team this year. Draft any position but a backup QB. It doesn't matter if you get a seconds round pick for him in 3-4 years.
  18. Why would he want to get one of his good Bills sweatshirts smelling like fish?
  19. Pretty much this. I think Milano is an outstanding WLB. Very instinctive, solid tackler. but consider this: 1) he missed almost half the season due to injury. 2) PFF ranked him 41 out of 80 OLB. Either they’re not very smart or I’m not. I would have him as top 10-15 OLB. Maybe TBD has him way overrated. I guess we’re about to find out. I hope he stays.
  20. No Gm was dumb enough to be "targeting" Zay Jones. The guy caught a zillion passes for a G5 school. And played mostly slot. he didnt have elite measurables. Bills drafted him because one of his college coaches had just been hired as Bills WR coach, and he convinced Waley that Zay was the next coming of Jerry Rice. Or maybe Jesus Christ. I forget which. It was obvious Bills needed a #1 WR at that pick. I wanted them to draft Chris Godwin, who had the production, measurables, and terrific ball skills.
  21. Neither Kiper nor Mcshay have ever been employed as football talent evaluators. Ie a scout. Kiper is a hard worker and has good connections, but he has no skill at evaluating players himself. He tells you what nfl scouts tell him mcshay is simply clueless, and pretends that he knows what he is doing as a talent evaluator. Just like any craft, you learn football talent evaluation from the ground up. And being held responsible for your evaluations. these guys aren’t that. Pretending these guys know what they’re doing as a GM would be like pretending some random TV reality show star like Kim Kardashian would be able to do a good job as president of the US.
  22. We get 3 yds in slants and jet sweeps. They get 50 yds. we need more speed.
