Beane was on One Bills Live this morning and said that had they still had pick 130, they would have picked Shakir. So they ended up getting the guys they wanted anyway. He also said that Shakir's drops were concentration issues which can be corrected..

Beane is on One Bills Live and when Tasker asked him about regrets in the draft, Beane said that on the decision to trade up in the 1st, he said that teams knew the Bills were looking at corner and knowing that, he thought teams may try to jump the Bills to get one. If they had and the Bills didn't get their guy, he would have regretted that. Said he slept better having Elam in hand, even though watching the 4th round, he was wishing he had the pick back. However, he said that had he stayed with pick 130, that is where he would have picked Shakir. So...they got the guy they wanted anyway, 18 picks later.

Very possible, though KC has better coaching. Chargers have solid talent!

Well...some teams really need volume because their rosters are so thin. Carolina might be one to look at since they don't have much in this draft.

The third round had me scratching my head, too, but just because the pundits valued him in the 3rd round doesn't necessarily make it "gospel." The Bills value players differently, I think because they really value the intangibles. Obviously, there wasn't someone on their board that they valued more. Beane said the run on WRs didn't play a part. They have players currently on the team in depth positions that they like. Ultimately, if players work out, it doesn't matter where they are drafted. I do understand you position, though.

I'm not worried about safety or corner. We've got depth their already. Beane said in his presser last night that at oline he still has faith in Cody Ford. He's done a lot in the off season and knows it's a contract year. He said it's not a must to draft a punter but he knows some will be taken. I'd like to see another WR, TE, o line and punter.

Beane said as much. I expect them to try and get back in the 4th round with those 6 rounders.
