Yep. If you choose the Select package, you get Disney +, and with Select Plus you also get ESPN+ for free. And now they're giving away Paramount+ with Showtime (which was already part of my package along with HBO). This was part of Charter Spectrum 's negotiations. They want to add more value to their customers with all the options people now have with streaming services.
You should be hopeful DTV gets a package like Spectrum got. This happened a year ago at the beginning of NCAAF and I was p'od. But now I get free Disney plus and free ESPN plus and my rates weren't badly impacted.
Labor Day weekend is typically the start of NCAAF. There's even a game on tonight...Boston College vs Florida State. The CFL also has Labor Day games. So I would not start NFL games on Labor Day weekend.
Quite honestly, for as little as we saw starters this preseason, I think the coaches put a lot on what they saw in practice. We only saw the preseason games...which doesn't tell you an awful lot when you are playing mostly backups. For example, Andreessen looked incredible when he played with other starters vs Pittsburgh. He wasn't as notable vs the Panthers when we played no starters. He was simply one of the best among the worst. I'll keep my faith in the coaching staff and their evaluations.
The injuries obviously suck, but before I go off all gloom and doom, I want to see what Beane does. With Trubisky out, I would expect another QB added just to play in this last preseason game. Who they add beyond that will tell us a lot about the seriousness of the other injuries.
Don't look now, but if you watched any of the games this weekend,, you saw a number of good punters, booming the ball consistently over 60 yards. Araiza is not all that and a bag of chips. It's water under the bridge. Move on, already.
Thad Brown just roasted Coleman for turtling up on that pass. He said if he were established as a receiver in the league, he could understand it...why risk injury in a preseason game. But since Coleman isn't an established receiver, he needs to lay out to make the catch. Seriously? So he lays out, makes the catch and gets seriously injured. What sense does that make?
