  1. Oh I definitely agree that McDermott has underperformed with Allen. Believe me I hold the guy primarily responsible for our collapses this year (and past), I'm not trying to defend him too hard. More like, just trying to play a little devil's advocate on what mostly amounts to an opinion piece about a man's character. McDermott has made plenty of tangible mistakes from a purely decision-standpoint that warrant discussion and criticism. If the guy's a control freak or a scrooge, frankly that's not the reason I'm firing him for. Was Dorsey a scapegoat? Or did McDermott actually go out on a limb to give the guy way more of an opportunity than he deserved? In any event, the article does seem to back up what a lot of people think about McDermott not being willing to learn from his mistakes and adapt. If true, it's just a damn shame. McDermott seems like a smarter guy than that. If he's going to stubbornly stick to the same decisions and schemes and concepts that let us down time and time again, there's no doubt in my mind he should be let go.
  2. I did read the free bits. Some of it definitely matches up with the public perception of McD, and I certainly can't say some of it isn't "concerning," at least insofar as what it appears McDermott's vision is for the team and the viability of that vision to translate into a championship. Again, I think if you poll former players and staff from any coaching regime that's been in place for, say, 3+ years without a championship you'd find enough material for an article in similar tone. Doesn't mean the content of the article is untrue or that it's substance should be ignored. But it's also a lot easier to publish this article now as we're sitting 6-6 than it would be if we had closed out a few more games and landed 9-3 instead, I think.
  3. I mean if the point of this article is that McDermott is a control freak with an ego, I'd be more interested in the number of NFL head coaches who aren't. 🤷‍♂️ Belichick has been a "my way or the highway" grouch his entire career. But he had Brady for 20 years, and won a maddening amount of games/championships, so everyone put up with it. If McDermott had a championship or two under his belt by now, no one would care how controlling or egotistical or micro-managing he was. The problem isn't that McDermott is running the team his way-or-the-highway. A head coach is responsible for the whole team, and that's his prerogative... The problem is that his way isn't leading to trophies and rings, despite having a top 3 quarterback. But yeah I don't really consider this article to be "news" per se. It's just what you might assume about most NFL head coaches. I mean if McDermott was super nice and never fired anyone would the 6-6 record be somehow more palatable? lol
  4. I heard McDermott has them scheduled for paintball followed by Dave and Buster's tomorrow. 🤷‍♂️
  5. Thanks, you've just the set the stage for our next "instant classic" soul crushing loss, that will obviously come to be known as the "17 and 2" game. I hope you're happy. 😂
  6. Consider that Juju Smith-Schyster is a pretty craptacular receiver... but he's still leagues better than any receiver left on that team right now. Kelce is still elite, obviously. But he's not getting any younger, might be slowing down a tad this year. I think operationally the offense would run smoother with the continuity of Bienemy on the sideline still, but at the end of the day MVS, Hardman and Toney are just terrible football players. He can't force them to catch and hold onto the football any more than Dorsey or Brady could do so with our mediocre corps.
  7. Josh can execute quick throws, but I do agree he's not perfect for that offense as it's executed right now. I think Shanahan would have to retool things to maximize Josh's strengths, and I think he would excel at that. Just my opinion, obviously. But if you let Shanahan have JA17 and pair him with weapons like Deebo and CMC, I mean... if Shanny can scheme his guys wide open with space in front of them with the threat of Brock Purdy at QB, I can only imagine what the threat of Josh would do.
  8. Put Josh Allen in that offense with those weapons and Shanahan as play-caller. Other teams may as well just forfeit.
  9. As bad as the Jets and Broncos losses were, that Pats loss is just beyond shameful. Allowing Mac Jones to have a 126 passer rating and lead a game-winning drive... That team been shut out twice this season. TWICE! And struggled to score more than six points several times more.
  10. Yeah a game deciding drive and refs just do the opposite of what the objective call is supposed to be. I don’t know how anyone can bet their own money on these games. It’s WWE out there.
  11. Refs are just doing the opposite of what they are supposed to call on every play. lol
  12. Turnover prone 😏
  13. Well aside from the epic implosion afterwards, yes.
  14. I think a lot of people are overlooking the possibility she put hands on him first / as well. It's interesting that she phrased her response as "nobody assaulted anybody" and it's also interesting to me that he left the house. When a woman becomes physical against a man in these situations, often times he'll do what he can to restrain her/ get away and then his only real choice is to leave the situation because it's far easier for the man to do more serious damage and see much harsher ramifications. Not that it isn't also possible Miller is just a dirtbag. But considering the phrasing she used and the quick recanting, this situation seems just as plausible to be two toxic people who bring out the worst in each other as it is a guy who manipulates and controls his woman through fear and abuse. Gotta wait for more info and to see how it all plays out.
  15. Ruggs' situation was just a little bit different.. what with him being physically inside the vehicle that struck and killed someone 'n all. Not so much an accusation in that instance as a report of fact.
  16. As it should be. Good news for Miller is he's not a punter, so accusations alone may not be enough to derail his career. Guess we'll see.
  17. This looks oddly like what I'd expect my stat sheet to look like if I were a pro football defensive end. Ok, maybe not the solo tackle... But I could definitely get in on one assist. 😅
  18. We held a 3-point lead with 15 seconds left vs the Rams in 2020 to seal the win after a Robert Woods fumble. Although considering we let them back into the game after being up 28-3 you may not take that as a positive, lol
  19. Anyone still drinking the mainstream kool-aid in 2023 has no excuse, frankly. For any news and analysis, sports or otherwise, you're far better off looking into independent media. I'd think everyone would have learned that after the Monte T'eo fiasco, but, well, that's willful ignorance for ya.
  20. There's no doubt in my mind the Bills can perfectly tread water for many years with McDermott as head coach.. and with Josh Allen as QB. Look if Josh goes down, this is barely a 2-3 win team. What we need out of a head coach right now is to make the correct decisions in critical moments, and McDermott seems to really struggle with that despite several years from which he could reflect and learn from his mistakes. But hey, maybe the Bills come out of the bye and go on a tear to finish the season. With Josh as QB anything is possible. But if we lose even one more close game in the fashion that's become McD's specialty, that seat is only gonna get warmer...
  21. Are you trying to say Allen didn't learn anything from Peterman during those two quarters against the Ravens where he posted a 0.0 passer rating? 😂
  22. Yeah, there's absolutely no reason not to sell out to stop it at the goal line. But if they have 4 downs to try for it... probably gonna get it eventually. But if Hurts get hurt on that play you'll probably see them get more conservative with it.
  23. Yeah, tbh people gave him s--- for it in gameday thread but I didn't even have a problem with Philips' jump yesterday. If you time it perfect you can stop Hurts in the backfield. If not, you still hit him and put him on his ass at least. What do you have to lose? You're probably giving up the first down anyway.
  24. I feel like the Eagles are daring someone to stack all their heavy bodies against that play. If Sirianni is thinking ahead, he's got Hurts ready to audible into a quick out if the defense comes that heavy against them there. And frankly, that could end up being a disaster -- a 1 yard first down could instead be a touchdown when nobody is able to react to the out pattern cause they're selling out for the run stop. But with smaller linebackers and nickel personnel, I agree, you pretty much have no chance of out-muscling them.
