Just remember they decided to play Mike Tolbert when they could have had better play off a scrap heap. Their illogical allegiances to "their guys" is concerning and with the cited example it hindered their on field performance.

It's sad when we have to talk about trying to acquire mediocre receiving talent because the bills have done such a crap job targeting skill position talent. That falls on beane and McDermott.

Problem is this regime is infatuated with players they had in Carolina. So much so that they overpay (Star) and overplay (Tolbert). Not the sharpest football minds do things like this.

Bills have had bonehead off season if I've ever seen one: 1) Signing Star who has underachieved for consecutive years now 2) Overpaying Trent Murphy who has injury concerns and was suspended for PEFS 3) Chris Ivory - really? 4) Not addressing Wide Receiver in a remotely impactful way 5) Trading 2 second round picks for a statistically inferior prospect 6) Leaving the draft with 3 picks in the first 3 rounds when they started with 6 and have a roster full of needs.

Jon Miller, Adolphus Washington, Shaq Lawson. This staff is obsessed with weeding out everything in the past even though they ridded several good football players. They better hope their "own guys" approach works or the end will be a lot sooner than they had hoped.

At 29 he fits the Bills mold of older and talent deficient running backs (save for McCoy). You are absolutely right it hasn't worked yet and it reeks of bringing in their own guys just because of that in and of itself. KB cannot separate, Star was atrocious if you look at his numbers analytically, Tolbert was the joke of the team last year, and guys like Kealin Clay simply steal roster spots. I may be in the minority but I am not impressed with the talent building on this roster esp in free agency.
