A big part of it was the game script. The Bills invite the run because they know that eventually the opposing offense will have to abandon the run and pass the ball to keep up with Josh Allen and the Bills offense, making them play into our atrengths and keeping them one dimensional.
That works a majority of the time. But the offense stalled early and the Rams got up by multiple scores (including a special teams TD). That allowed them to continue to run as much as they want, and then rely on a talented QB to make throws to two talented receivers when necessary.
It was the perfect storm, but you would also like to see the defense be more nimble. But, the defensive line just continues to suck for some reason. They disappear in every big game, it seems. We need to just move on from all of them over the next couple of years and reset it with new players. Oliver is too small and streaky. Rousseau disappears at times and never gets to the QB with any consistency. Jones is old and ineffective now. Miller is old and not what he used to be. Epenesa is a depth player. Blow the line up, I say. Bring in some free agents and draft picks so we aren't seeing the same thing every year.
