  1. That also doesn't mean a better GM and coach couldn't win an actual championship with the best player we've ever had though. We have heavily underachieved in the playoffs, we really haven't even been close to winning a Super Bowl. They've created a situation where the ask of our franchise player is much higher than what other teams are asking of franchise players are on other teams. Josh has something like 33 TD's and 4 INT's in the playoffs...and is barely over .500! This is unprecedented, it's never happened in the history of the NFL. They have overall let him down with the defenses, coaching and support they've put around him. I'd be curious to see how that could be debated.
  2. Right, I actually like Beane too and I appreciate his transparency because it’s more than most GM’s give but that is a valid point and fact. For me it still gets back to being able to think two things can be true at the same time. He’s a good GM that’s fallen short of being great. I think he and McD think they should have this level of reverence and trust when this team has massively underperformed in the playoffs given what the best player we’ve ever had has done and are 0-4 against our biggest rival. I don’t think the “how dare you question us” swagger really works when you haven’t won anything. 100%. The sad part about that is Josh overall has been great in the playoffs. Mahomes can win a SB even with an up and down postseason because of what’s around him and their coaching. Josh doesn’t have that luxury. He can’t even get there when he’s great.
  3. Yeah that's kind of what I think...although we definitely lose some explosiveness going from Cook to Davis if that's what happens
  4. It's happened for like 6 postseasons in a row but somehow that's not enough to establish it's been a pattern and not injuries
  5. What did we win? It obviously wasn't enough. They've had 8 years to build a defense that can even be decent in the playoffs and haven't been able to do it. Our offense doesn't have the luxury that the Chiefs and Eagles do where their QB's can potentially have an up and down postseason and still make it or win the SB. Maybe we still need more weaponry to be able to answer the crazy ask that's being demanded of them.
  6. I'm just happy the day arrived for Commander fans to see the renderings
  7. Because it's possible to think and believe two things at the same time. I'm saying this from a fan perspective and not the WGR guys perspective because I don't listen to them...but it's possible to agree that this regime has brought the longest sustained tenure of legitimate success since the SB years AND that they have massively underachieved in the playoffs. What we've seen here is unprecedented when a star QB plays this well overall in the playoffs and has nothing to show for it. We're barely over .500 with him the playoffs playing mostly lights out and it's for the same exact reason every year. The defense has been beyond awful in the playoffs, Beane and McDermott have failed consistently on that end year after year. We've flushed almost the entire 20's of the best player we've ever had because the ask has been so high. Mahomes can have an up and down postseason and still win or make it to a SB. That just hasn't been possible for Josh, we can't even get there when he's great. All of these things can be true at the same time. You can feel fortunate and thank this regime that we're good and have had sustained success while also be aware of the shortcomings that have prevented us from winning big and wonder if these are the guys that can actually get the team over that hurdle. These are not exclusive to each other.
  8. Exactly! And ask why even then Beane and McD can't manage to put together a defense that can at least be decent in the playoffs. Beane is much more candid and transparent than a lot of GM's and I actually appreciate that...but he did kind of have a "how are you guys doubting us" kind of energy which I don't get. Like what have McBeane done on the defensive side of the ball that would rationally have someone trust them that they'll now hit on their picks and strategy and come up big...forget big even just come up decent...in January?
  9. Whose fault is that though? I don't mind Beane calling them out on other stuff...but Beane and McD have failed with the D year after year in a historically incompetent manner. There's never been a QB that's played this well in the playoffs overall and has nothing to show for it the way Allen has. We've needed that for like the last 6 years though and they've spent plenty of resources only to come up empty on defense in a huge way. There is something to say about the lack of credibility they've built to accomplish what we need on that side of the ball.
  10. I will say it’s wildly immature for a 21 year old to put his dad in an embarrassing position like that. I had assumed it was like a teenager. The prank call in it of itself, stupid but not a huge deal…but he totally humiliated his own father.
  11. I'm all about IGA scores and Gauntlet Speed
  12. They should be...Harbaugh might actually be but it feels like McDermott has a stranglehold here unfortunately. I'm not sure they'd can him even if we missed the playoffs. They should be. This is the best player in franchise history and we haven't even been close to winning it and he's almost 30. Something is wrong with what's happening when that's the case.
  13. Absolutely not. The guy literally disappeared. We need guys who actually might make plays on the big stage.
  14. Yup, and that's good value there. That's just what they do though, they're always making good value picks.
  15. Last year wasn't any different from his secondary in January than what it has been in his entire career here though
  16. Can't say enough about how the Eagles just get it
  17. Just now, good pick by the Chargers. I really like what they're doing in this draft. Wish we were doing the same with adding some weaponry for 17.
  18. If you're taking that logic though...spending big resources in FA and the draft on D hasn't helped that either
  19. Sure, but on the other side of the coin this regime doesn’t really have any credibility when it comes to the DL. We never generate a pass rush in January.
  20. Why are we always getting undersized DL who get pushed around in the playoffs?
  21. That's how I see it. We should be planning like we need to score 30+ in most playoff games to win...because we probably do. I'd like to see more weaponry added on offense.
  22. Never say that you can't do something, or that something seems impossible, or that something can't be done, no matter how discouraging or harrowing it may be; human beings are limited only by what we allow ourselves to be limited by: our own minds. He's undersized to along with a number of undersized guys we have that have trouble staying healthy into the playoffs.
  23. The Eagles draft defense the way I wish we did. Big and athletic.
  24. If you’re totally sold on a QB though I get it philosophically, it’s not worth risking that
