I'm sure there will be a bunch of names added to the list as teams work the salary cap and cut some vets. Read something earlier speculating the Jets cutting Wilkerson due to him not playing as well since signing a fat contract, being late or no showings team meetings (sound familiar?)
I would take a flier on him if cut...not that we would likely be able to afford it...and no way would McD want a player like that.
There's always a good chance McCown would have gotten obliterated behind this oline, be sitting on IR and Peterman would have started more games. Peterman could have thrown 46 interceptions at this point forcing Buffalo to sign RGIII who slipped on a mat and is on IR.
After that we would obviously try and lure Kyle Orton back out of retirement. After that failed and Tim Tebow didn't answer his phone, Johnny Manziel was too drunk to find his and Colin Kapernick couldn't locate his cell in his hair.... McDermott would play QB himself. Every play he would miss the shotgun snap because he wouldn't stop clapping, then wrestle anyone that tries to recover. Somehow we would still finish 7-9.
If the right QB is there you take him. If you fail to land the guy you want start building those lines. I know people say you can get lineman later in the draft but that hasn't really worked well for us in the past. I don't want another Koujo, John Miller (who I think NEEDS to be on the field the rest of the way).
Should be an interesting game. Wondering if Gronk will see reduced snaps. If I was coaching Buffalo and wanted to make a statement I may task Trae Elston a bit with it. Guy hits like a truck. Wish he could play more actually.
I get that as that makes sense. And to an extent Frazier is cooking with some of Rex Ryan's groceries still...
So this is what every thread becomes now? The late hit? Caveman mentality?
Don't have talent up front? How about sending a corner blitz, how about sending any kind of rush that is different then just our 4 poor pass rushers? Scheming them to get pressure is the ONLY way to get it without talent. A better DC perhaps may be able to figure that out.
4. 4 sacks by Shaq Lawson leads the team. This is inexcusable. For a team with a head coach that is strong suited to defense and a DC that used to be a HC you would think that they can figure out how to rush the passer. Now, I get that there is more to defense than sack and that we play a bend don't break philosophy...but 4?
And aside from those 4 sacks Hughes and Alexander have 3 each. Team has 20. Pressure is non existent.
Call for Dennison to be canned all you want...I want a new DC more.
Had a sack on Brady this week. Rushed in so fast Brady curled in the fetal position. He was in the backfield a couple other plays. He has lost a step, but Meatball at 80% of what he once was is still an above average starter.
I think Tyrod is gone. That's pretty clear. Dennison I think comes back with a rookie QB and a vet QB. I also think we bring in Mike McCoy as a "passing game consultant" or some such title. If after 4-6 weeks the offense isn't better Dennison would be canned then and McCoy promoted.
Milano, Groy, Thomas, Cadet and John Miller should all see action.
I'd like to see a couple PS guys called up if Taylor, White or Tolbert are IRd this week. Who knows we just may have another player like Lee we don't know about.
