  1. No. I am just showing he has a burst as well. You're reading wayyyyyyyy too much into a simple post. Sheesh.
  2. Shavers has some juice....
  3. Well, we had Matt Barkley at punter one preseason game. Maybe we bring him back.
  4. His agent works for him. Not the other way around. His agent may advise him...but Cook has free will to listen or tell him "Hey, get the deal done or I'll find someone who will" Agents always get scapegoated as the villain in the process. But Cook is a grown man who can make his own decisions. This is on him..
  5. Agreed. I'm getting older so maybe my memory fails me a bit. But IIRC Shavers looked good in camp last year and it didn't translate well to the preseason games. If he can show out even a bit this year in the games I think it gets harder to slip him to PS. If he makes a bunch of plays on offense this preseason then it gets far more likely. Daboll is always sniffing around our leftovers.
  6. Kelvin Benjamin had a HUGE impact on the Chiefs and Giants buffet lines in the cafeteria. Oh wait. He was cut not a FA. Disregard.
  7. A couple years back, Beans showed he isn't afraid to cut a recent signee with a chunk of guaranteed bucks to keep the better player rostered. Ask OJ Howard and the $3M he had guaranteed how that worked out.
  8. Fetes did us dirty there. Capitalize WILL but not NOT. I've been about 90% sure Shavers was making this team since early in the off season. Nothing I've seen or heard has swayed me from that. In fact it probably increased my view. I don't know if Buffalo keeps 6 WRs, but with all the early injuries in camp to the position it wouldn't shock me. Maybe they go lighter in the secondary. I see Samuel or Moore as possible game day inactives (or in Samuels case an injury related inactive). Shavers adds much more on STs. Sort of like a Jake Kumerow.
  9. As long as #17 is in that car, we will be a-ok
  10. I think if a deal isn't done but week 1 (and unless he buckles I don't think it will) he will reluctantly come back for the season opener. That's where it's gonna get real nasty. He will push too fast too soon, not be in football shape and end up with a soft tissue injury. And he will take his time coming back from it. I see a very legitimate path to him ending up on IR and missing a bunch of weeks. No new deal ..no reason to rush back will be his thought. All in all I expect him, if this extends to week 1, to miss more games than Joey Bosa. He will end the season and his Bills tenure on a down note and head to free agency. And he won't find the deal he's looking for there either.
  11. Yup. It's almost cute that people think we've seen the last of him.
  12. I'd say more 50% troubleshooting and 50% vast overreactions to every small clip.
  13. They look alike. But what's weird is I always thought Baker looked like Booger from Revenge of the Nerds. But Dawson does not. I always thought Knox looked more like Hyde from That 70s show. But Mayfield does not. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  14. Is this a sneaky Landon Jackson post?
  15. People that dislike Damar hitched their wagon to him on hopes and desperation. I don't think he was ever really an option.
  16. FWIW, Mike White is who fans claim Trubisky is as a player. White is tough, but not a #2 QB on a team with Super Bowl hopes.
  17. Bigger news is Ray Davis is second team kicker.
  18. Yeah this is the contract I've been waiting to see. I put Williams and Cook at the same level. 11/year is fair. It's slightly above Sportrac's estimated value of (I believe) $10.2M for Cook. its about what I expected Cook to see should be hit free agency next year. Maybe a slight bump due to next year's salary cap numbers
  19. Then you're already about 3 hours behind.
  20. I like Davis a lot. I think he's a good steady back that runs well and has some good receiving skills. To me a "starter" at RB is irrelevant. Whomever gets the first snap or first series can largely depend on formation and gameplan. I do see him being a guy that can handle the 45% workload that Cook had last year. I do think Davis is better served being part of a committee than a workhorse. Which is what the Bills seem to favor at the position. So could he "start"? Sure. But him with Ty Johnson still likely isn't enough for what the Bills want to do at RB unless he breaks out and shows a skill set he didn't have last year. So if the Bills aren't planning on Cook being back next year I feel like they have to replace him either in the draft or FA (Breece Hall and Travis ETN are notable FAs next year) to pair with Davis and Ty.
  21. Here's where I believe the issue falls. Is Cook an elite player...or did he just have an elite season? There is a difference. There is no avoiding it. Cook had an elite season last year. But is that who he is or was it the product of the stars lined up just right for him? Remember, this time last year a lot of people were down on him because of the TD drops and fumbles. In a lot of people's eyes he went from "let him walk" to "pay him too dollar" over a 19 game span. I think Cook wants to strike while the iron is hot and I can't blame him for that. I also think the Bills would like to see some consistency and that last year wasn't a one off before they shell out top dollar. And I can't blame them for that, either. The same people screaming to pay him $15M per year will be the same people calling Beane a horrible GM and saying it was a horrible contract if Cooks numbers regress to the means.
  22. True. He won't get hurt on the bike. He also won't stay in football condition on the bike either. Maybe it is selective memory, but it seems year after year the guys that stage these "hold ins" end up not having great seasons that follow. Start the season slow. End up with lingering soft tissue injuries that derail their whole season. Things like that.
  23. Meatloaf is an elite food. Especially when you stuff it with cheese and top with bacon and BBQ sauce. Max will make starts this year. I'd bet heavily on it. The chances of White or Benford missing time is fairly likely. It's a tough league. Because it's football. People get hurt. Key is most are hurt and not injured. Big big difference there. I believe if the season kicked off and live rounds were tomorrow most would be in the lineup. So, he's just here so he don't get fined...
  24. I don't know. A guy like Shavers has been paid for well over a year to be part of a professional football team. What have you done?
  25. Maybe it's just me being overly optimistic, but downs can be expected when a rookie is practicing against the reigning league MVP. Moreso when that MVP is wearing a red jersey and can't really be sacked. The fact that he has made plays and has some ups against that situation is actually pretty impressive to me. He may be up and down against guys like Allen, Mahomes or Burrow as a rookie...but I think against guys like Fields, Tua and whomever wins the Saints job Max will EAT.
