  1. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/colts-qb-anthony-richardson-taken-to-hospital-with-orbital-fracture-after-eye-injury-in-pregame-warmups/ So, Colts QB Anthony Richardson was a surprise inactive yesterday. Turns out he's injured AGAIN. Broken orbital bone from a stretch band. At least it wasn't a rubber mat, I guess.
  2. I agree with them looking Chiefs, but I think they go with the other side of the ball. I'd watch Matt Nagy. He did have issues as a first time HC, but went back and sat under Andy Reid's learning tree some more. And hey, they guy made the playoffs twice with Mitch Trubisky as his QB. Another name I'd keep an eye on...Mike Kafka. OC for the Giants but has the Chiefs roots as well. If Dart keeps showing well, maybe the Titans look to him to work with their young QB too. I had Daboll as first fired coach during the preseason. Yes, that win may have bought him some more time. I still think he's gone at the end of the year
  3. I haven't looked through all 13 pages yet but here's my two cents. In no way shape or form do I believe the league is rigged as far as the league pushing certain teams to win. I don't believe years ago, the NFL looked at Kansas City and said "yup, that's the new power franchise". If the league were fixed, Buffalo would have won a Super Bowl by now. Would be a HUGE story of the spunky small market team winning big. And few teams travel as well (or spend as much money) as Bills fans. What I do believe is that officials are encouraged to keep the games close. Close games mean less people flipping away. More people stay the more they can charge for ads. Also, keep games close for the betting community. I can't remember an era where there seemed to be so few blow outs. Some weekends it seems like almost every game comes down to the final drive.
  4. Man, I had Daboll as the first one gone. I'm guessing either he or McDaniel are next. Stefanski can't be far behind. I'm betting at some point the owner pushes for Sanders to start and that brings this one to a head. Johnathan Gannon may not be long either. Especially after smacking a player last week.
  5. What a wonderful trip down memory lane. Of course, nowhere did I say EVERY year. Yes, two seasons were tougher. As this season appears to be shaping up to be as well. Which is why I said BASICALLY every year...and not something more definitive such as LITERALLY every year. Speaking in basic reference, the Bills have had it easy in the division. Josh Allen's 32-13 record against AFCE teams can attest to that. But yes, there were 2 blip years where they had it more difficult.
  6. But, you gotta get to January. For the last few years we have basically had a free pass to the playoffs because of our division. That may not be the case anymore.
  7. I remember back to the first year Bernard started. So many plays that year either Poyer or Hyde were barking stuff to him and he would get the defense lined up right. The experience that a guy like Poyer brings is invaluable.
  8. To play a bit of devil's advocate here. And let me start by saying I hope the Bills win tonight...but a loss tonight might spark Beane to move some draft picks for reinforcements. Could heading into the bye on a 2 game skid and dropping to second place in the division create a sense of urgency? Maybe. But my major complaint on Beane over the years is that they "run it back" way too often because they feel they were close. New England being actual competition for the division may make him rethink his approach.
  9. It's like that Toby Keith song says. To paraphrase, maybe he ain't as good as he once was. But can he be as good once as he ever was? That said, I don't think he sees many snaps tonight unless there's an injury.
  10. I feel like (especially if Kincaid is out or plays limited snaps because of the oblique) tonight is a Jackson Hawes breakout game.
  11. Hopefully, the sloppy play is in the past. Turnovers and stupid penalties are the only way I see us losing this one. Need to come out strong and not let them hang around. Looking forward to seeing Big Ed play tonight. Let's see if post injury he can dominate like he did in the Ravens game. I think that would settle a lot of people down a bit.
  12. I think I'm at the point where I'd rather see Poyer on the field than Rapp.
  13. Problem with this is that Brady loves to switch personal up. And by rule anytime you switch personal the opponents get a chance to sub as well. Now if we can catch a team with obvious mismatches in personal...by all means run that up tempo and take advantage of it. I just don't know if Brady can help himself
  14. I think some competition for the division would be a good thing in the long run. Too long we have done the "run it back" method and brought back players we should have upgraded because, well...we won the division. Made the playoffs. Even won a game or two. I think some fear of losing the division may motivate Beane to upgrade a little more urgently.
  15. Gotta give credit to Worthy as well. They tried the bargain bin Hill route before with Mecole Hardman.
  16. I don't feel bad for him. He had a chance to end his own suffering, but re-signed a fat contract instead. Which they likely screw up anyway. He would fit in here as an often injured player. No thanks. McDaniel was great his first year when he brought Shanny's system. Once teams adjusted to him he lacks the knowledge and creativity to build on what he had and come up with new ideas.
  17. I don't discount the Browns stealing a game off them. They seem to play Baltimore well and have a strong defense.
  18. They still have 5 games in their own division, the Patriots and the Packers. It's not an easy run IMO.
  19. They are on bye week. He's expected back after their bye
  20. I love that Baltimore is ALMOST to the "we needs to win out to make the playoffs" part of a teams season. Cocky fans, cocky players. They deserve it.
  21. Games played in foreign nations should be considered non cannon to the regular season. It's almost like bizzaro world.
  22. That was Woody's brother that took over for the short ambassadorship while Woody was gone. His son was the one that talked Woody out of making trades or grabbing other players based off their Madden rating...lol
  23. It's not the roster. It's ownership. That's the one constant that won't change. And I think Fields gets shots as a starter over guys like Mac and Sam because of his mobility. If someone can make the light go off on Fields as a passer he has a huge upside because of his ability to run the ball as well.
  24. I am so glad other people are coming around on Rapp. He's a huge liability out there and has been for a long while. With people not hyper focused on Hamlin's play, Rapp is being exposed. We definitely need an upgrade there. Unfortunately, I don't see them moving on in season for reasons that have been discussed a lot on this board. (Would lead to communication issues in the secondary, McDermott runs a complex defense to pick up, ECT..) WR, I agree we need something there. But I fear giving Joe Brady a down field threat would like giving a baby a PS5. Great and flashy but may collect dust because the owner doesn't know how to use it. I like Shaheed and have for a while. Another name for them to consider may be Mecole Hardman. He's a FA, so wouldn't cost picks. And while he certainly isn't magnificent, he does have some big game experience and can get a jersey on game days as a returner and situational deep threat. Should also be a very low dollar contract.
