  1. I picked the 3rd option for the contract value. A middle to low end WR2/3 type guy is starting to see in the 11M/yr range (see Lazard). That's where I see Gabe ultimately landing. I would take him back at a slightly lower value. The $8-9M range and I would be ok with that for all the different roles he can play on offense. However, I do think if he hits open market his rate will sky rocket and someone will make the mistake of overpaying in the $12-$15M range. That's too much for me.
  2. I, too will stand by my overall comments from previous. I believe Poyer played through way too many injuries last year and that took a perm toll on the body. He's still been for the most part, decent. But a far fall from where he was 2-3 years ago. Guy has been a warrior, though.
  3. I think they get to wear Healies. More of a "roll through " for them.
  4. I agree and don't like those WR screens. However, I am curious to see if Brady is getting that established on film to work something off of it. Maybe something where they set up the WR screen and when the defense commits to crash it...one of the blockers leaks out upfield. Lots of variables can come off that if they get a defense to commit.
  5. Josh Allen will be fined $32,689 and suspended 2 games for striking Patrick Mahomes in the chest after the game. Buffalo will be assessed a personal foul against the Cowboys at the beginning of every 1st half possession.
  6. Some have been eager to see what he can do. You may get your wish.
  7. I don't know. I didn't ask him. Sometimes guys will wait until late to join a contender. He had opportunity in the off-season. But why he didn't sign...shoot send him a text I can't answer for him. Agree. Didn't mean to infer he would be a direct 1:1 replacement. But he will definitely help in likely 12-15 situational snaps a game.
  8. And they add one more to the D. Ingram always plays well against us, too. Softens the blow from losing Phillips. However, still does nothing to help their OL.
  9. Media has really been blowing up the Cowboys for this amazing 5 week run they've been on. And what happens more times then not when a team gets that media love? A huge letdown. This 5 game stretch the Cowboys have been on has featured 4 home games and a road game against Carolina. And their perfect kicker is about to meet the winds off the lake. Good luck, bruh. Buffalo is playing their best football right now, is at home and can see the division crown on the horizon if the keep winning. This one isn't going to be close. Buffalo 30 Dall-ass 16
  10. You need multiple corners. And you need guys that fit/know the system and communications. In a perfect scenario my depth chart would look something like this: CB1: Douglas CB2: White (on a pay cut with Jackson stepping in if not ready) CB3: Jackson/Elam CB4: Rookie CB5: FA (lower level not major signing) Safety - Benford Safety - FA Safety - Rookie Give a nice mix of youth and experience at all levels with enough youth to be the long term answer moving forward. There are many ways to go about it and truthfully I don't see any opinions as wrong at this point because there is a LOT that we just don't know. Will Tre heal? Would he take a pay cut to stay? Who will be available in FA? Who is sitting there when we pick? Will Elam suddenly figure things out? The answers to those questions will dictate what needs to be done in the long run IMO.
  11. Yup. Both Beane and McDermott have addressed it several times. Said it's in play. My personal feeling is if Elam had caught on and been a starter Benford would have made the move already, but that hasn't happened due to Elam not moving past him. Which is why I also said to bring back Dane Jackson, who they are comfortable with, as well as a day 2 pick and FA. Load up and let it sort out.
  12. What I think I would do: 1 CB: First and foremost, I offer Tre the chance to stay with a pay cut. Find a sweet spot that works for team and player and make the offer. If he takes it, super...we have our CB2. If not it's likely time to move on. I move forward with Rasul Douglas as the CB1 for next year. I then bring back Dane Jackson, who would not likely be expensive and is good depth. He would be in a competition for CB3 with a day 2 rookie and/or FA. Elam would mix in here as well. As you said they didn't trade him...but he ended up on IR right after the trade deadline. Wondering if the fear was that he wouldn't pass a physical with another team. Benford would be earmarked to begin the transition to Safety that they have talked about for a while. 2. At Safety, Hyde is done. Love the guy, appreciate all he's done. But he's just done. Between his play being a fraction of what it was and the almost constant flow of "stingers" he's had this year I don't think he comes back. Poyer is in the same boat. Very quiet year for him. I would take a look at Rapp the rest of this year and unless he improves I would move on there as well. Start fresh at one safety spot and Benford starts at the other. Cam Lewis is fine depth. Hamlin can compete as well. But again, a draft pick and/or FA would be brought in to compete as well. 3. Nickle Back: Taron has been a special player for years at that spot. He's had somewhat of a down year and has a hefty pricetag. But I'm not thinking I move on from him next year. Need some continuity and he's still in the top half of NCBS in the league IMO.
  13. Tommy Cutlets and The MILF hunter. Sounds like the name of the worst possible superhero movie of all time. Or maybe the best. What a time to be alive.
  14. I feel sorry for his family and friends who now get to deal with this loss. And so close to the holidays. I mean there is no "good time", of course. But always seems tougher around this time of year. Thankful he didn't take anyone else with him.
  15. From what I have seen there hasn't been a single case of a botched hold. Laces out. I'll take a deeper look today if I get some time. I believe he was always going to take the job from Haack. I think the Bills were content to let him work on holding for kicks early in the year....but no way do I see it a smart idea to tinker with an inexperienced holder right before the playoffs.
  16. Araiza didn't even make it TO the season. He was cut in pre season. Unless you mean his best pre season? And even in that time frame, I believe Haack was still holding for the majority of it.
  17. Injuries are an unfortunate part of the game. Sucks for the player. Hope he recovers well. Maybe Miami should have gotten an upgrade at backup C rather than trade for Chase Claypool.
  18. The frustrating thing is the Bills I think put him in position to fail. He's not a number 2. He never should have just been handed that role without a back up plan last year. He's a clear #3 type guy. He does a LOT of little things well. He's the kind of guy that matters more on an actual field of play rather than a stat sheet. He works hard and truthfully, he would likely be a #4 if he didn't put in so much effort. In a perfect world he's EXACTLY the kind of guy that should see a second contract. However, some team will still have visions of the Chiefs playoff game in their head and think "this is the Christian Kirk scenario all over again" and vastly overpay. And good for him. He likely needs a change of scenery to have success. His Bills career when it's all said and done reminds me of Robert Woods, actually. Good at at used in many roles but under achieved in the WR department. He'll have a career....let's just hope it's somewhere else and not top dollar here in Buffalo.
  19. Practice squad I could jive with, but again, there is no way he sees the field until next year. You simply don't mess with the PAT/FG process this late in the season unless it's forced due to injury.
  20. I wouldn't right now. As inconsistent as Martin has been he's also Bass's holder and that's something Araiza doesn't have exp with. Bass had had issues already and there in no way I mess with his holder this close to playoffs. Easily could cost us much more than a couple short punts.
  21. That is correct. We would win the division and they would go to the wild card. A loss in that game in this scenario puts the Bills likely out of the playoffs.
  22. I agree, they have had better crowds this year. However, after the way last night ended if they drop 2 of their next 3 to the Jets, Ravens or Cowboys (and I expect them to) I think there will be a lot of tickets put up for sale. I could easily see it being a 50-50 crowd or 60-40 in favor of Miami.
