  1. If this were a national media guy, he ought to be fired for extreme bias, but since he's a Boston area guy and apparently writing from the perspective of New England fandom, it's understandable. It's what they do. It's a pipe dream, but that doesn't matter.
  2. I doesn't seem as if there was enough time to have been ruled down by contact. It's partly the speed of the whole event that makes the final ruling so dubious.
  3. I assume that for it to be ruled an interception without a fumble, at some point there needs to be a way for the play to be ruled dead after the DB catches the ball and before he loses it. If it's not hitting the ground, what is it?
  4. Picture size and quality makes it hard to say conclusively, but it sure didn't look like Peters had the ball long enough to rule that he had control, and it also appeared that he was losing it before it hit the ground.
  5. Yeah, all things being equal and not thinking about Seattle's defense, you want to run against them to keep the ball away from Russell Wilson. Fortunately, the Bills understood things aren't all equal on the Seattle defense. They're lousy versus the pass, and even though Buffalo hadn't done a great deal through the last few games, they know they still had the ability. Weather conditions were ideal for passing on Sunday. In retrospect, Pete Carroll made a bad call.
  6. I'm guessing Diggs is very happy with the trade as well. He probably just wishes the Bills played Minnesota more frequently than once every 4 years so he could destroy their secondary.
  7. If you could somehow get it, the MSG network in WNY rebroadcasts the game multiple times during the week. I know there are different MSG feeds for different areas though. MSG in south Jersey probably wouldn't have it.
  8. Sure would be nice if Buffalo can hold Seattle to a field goal to start the second half, or better yet stop a drive completely, then score a TD on their own first drive of the second half. 31 -10 would be a real big deficit for Seattle to come back from. Mostly Buffalo just needs to keep scoring and sustaining drives. Do that and Russell Wilson can't catch up.
  9. Of course, Buffalo is overplaying the pass, knowing what Wilson can do and Seattle is missing their top two running backs. If Buffalo can continue being productive on offense, Seattle may eventually find that the clock does not allow them to run anyway.
  10. Make him part owner. Give him full control of all personnel decisions.
  11. There is a media discrepancy here. The Athletic is Joe B's report. He says 3 weeks. Sal Cappacio says the CBA language states "3 games," not "weeks." There's not really much point in arguing the point. Somebody's wrong and somebody's right. We'll find out when we find out. Jake Kumerow probably has more ability than his production as a pro has shown. He has great size and he's pretty fast for the size. Supposedly he also has great hands. Maybe he gets a chance to show something on Sunday.
  12. I suspect the Bills felt this was the only thing they could do. Playing through the injury clearly wasn't working. They would dearly love to have him on the field against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, but he just can't perform anywhere near an acceptable level with his injury. Hopefully, Phillips is ready to step up. Physically, he's pretty close to Milano. Mentally? Who knows? What we do know is that AJ Klein does not have the speed and anticipation to do a lot of the stuff that the defense has depended on Milano to do.
  13. If Carlos Dunlap suits up for the Seahawks, Williams can earn the OP's admiration this week. He's getting older, but the man is a load.
  14. I doubt Buffalo will use a spy, but if they did, the guy with the athleticism to do it would be Darron Lee. That's also something for which he wouldn't need a lot of understanding of the defense, because it's not part of their usual defensive package anyway. I'm sure he has been a spy once or twice in his college and pro career.
  15. AJ Klein knows what to do and how to do it. Unfortunately, he's physically incapable of doing it. Vosean Joseph is fully capable of doing it physically. He just cant figure out what he's supposed to do, Darron Lee is a lot like Joseph, but at least has some legit NFL experience under his belt and hopefully has at least some idea what he's supposed to do.
  16. It's been said he's outplaying his one year deal. It sure would be nice if Buffalo could extend him for a moderate pay increase.
  17. "Non-update" For some reason, Seattle did not post an update their injury report on the official website following their Thursday practice. I thought it was mandated by league rules. Anyone have info on that?
  18. Not shocking considering his very limited snap count last week. He was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Seattle may be without Greg Olsen, their starting tight end. Backup Will Dissly is a solid blocker, and a good receiver, but he's not real fast, and he's no Greg Olsen. That may make the loss of Milano a little easier to take. Still, Buffalo needs to try and get Milano healthy and get Darron Lee up to speed ASAP.
  19. I have said repeatedly over the past few games that Buffalo needs to make significant improvement in their play. Still, regardless of how they've won, Buffalo is in control of their own destiny, and every win they've had contributes to their standings at the top of the AFC East, even all the unimpressive ones. That's a significant difference between the two teams. Miami does not lead the division. While wins help them stay in the race for the division championship, they do not control their own destiny. As to the way they won, I am saying pretty much the same thing I've said about the Bills. They also have a difficult schedule remaining and they need to play better to win those coming difficult games. Winning via turnovers and punt returns for touchdowns is not generally thought to be sustainable. Nor for the Bills is winning by stopping the opponent's game winning drive by a last second turnover sustainable.
  20. This is a huge challenge coming up for Buffalo this coming Sunday, but could the Bills be catching a bit of a break? The Seahawks had 10 players sit out their practice today, all with injuries (though two were apparently minor issues combined with veteran rest). That includes their top 3 running backs, the left side of their offensive line starters (Duane Brown with a knee plus veteran rest), starting tight end, two starting cornerbacks and a starting defensive end. Buffalo, by comparison had four starters out of practice today. Granted, the picture will change a lot by the weekend, and some of those guys will likely play, as will most of Buffalo's starters who didn't practice today, but this could still be a good week to catch the Seahawks if you have to play them. https://www.seahawks.com/team/injury-report/
  21. Offensive line has been the main issue this season. The Bills got their tackle situation settled only to have the interior of the line fall apart. If Morse recovers from his concussion and continues playing, Feliciano gets back to his reliable run blocking self, Ford can get healthy, and Boettger can at least play like he played last Sunday, we may have the makings of a solid run blocking line, with a bit of depth to boot.. The question is will they be able to protect Allen against a tough defensive line? If Singletary and Moss have a little space (or Yeldon for that matter) they'll be fine.
  22. The Rams outgained Miami in their game more than 3 to 1. Turnovers was the only reason for the Miami win. If Miami can manufacture those kinds of turnovers every week, they might have something going, but that's a big "if."
  23. Belichick has pulled that little trick before. I can't recall if EJ Manuel was the QB, or somebody else, but the Bills were completely befuddled. I think he used it out of a sense of desperation about where the Patriots season is headed. The fact that Allen and the Bills handled it, is a sign that this is a much better Bills team. They will, hopefully, continue to be less vulnerable to Belichick's "creativity" in the future.
  24. Thanks, but I still want to hear from Jimmy Spagnola, telling us that the Jets are ready to start their win streak and the start of their run for the playoffs.
